@Broke As FK Csgo is a cpu intensive game, you need a better cpu to run the game better. I have Rx 570 as well and i3 7100, but rx 570 barely do anything and the i3 7100 does most of the work.

Just being able to start up CS:GO on 2gb of ddr2 ram is impressive. Yet somehow this system pulled almost 50 fps on average. Goddamn Valve made a good job optimizing this game.
While my 8800 GT died a few years back, the 7300 GT and HD 4870 are still functional and waiting for further use in retro builds. Loveed both cards, but especially the 7300 GT was pretty impressive for it's low-end market position. Quite the overclocker and could do quite well, beating a 6600 and gettin very close to a 7600 GS.

i3-340m and C2D E8400 should perform around the same, maybe with a little plus for the i3 for having HT. For the graphics, even less. If those min specs are correct it should run on a 1st gen i3 and a HD 2400XT, can't actually find any DX11 capable cards that would perform that pow.

Eyy I did a video about this a few years ago, cool to see it updated for the game in its current state. If you click on the requirements for MacOS or Linux they're interestingly quite different to the Windows ones (and more detailed oddly) but for Linux it does ask for a HD2600 which is bang on your GPU choice so I guess that's a good coincidence! I would be interested to see the Danger Zone game be tested on the minimum requirements PC as the level is a lot more open which should give the CPU a lot more work to do, although it's not as graphically polished as the likes of Dust2 so not sure which way that would go.

5:14 actually I think the GPU appears to be the problem here. The figures do not change when dropping the resolution because the CPU can't keep up with the graphics card. Check the usage on both components while running 640x480, you may find that the radeon card stays somewhere at around 50-60%, or else I am wrong

As far as I know, the cpu handles the game logic and comes up with a frame for the gpu to render. After that the cpu will compute another frame and wait for the gpu to finish (or maybe wait for the gpu to finish then prepare the next frame). If the gpu takes a long time to render a frame (like when using a high resolution and/or high settings) the cpu will have a lot of time to compute the next one, so we see high gpu usage, and low cpu usage. If the gpu gets the job done very fast, the cpu will be pushed to deliver frames more often, hence high cpu usage.

I still get some descent performance out of quad cores especially the modded 771 Xeon CPUs. The E5450 is my fav. Maybe do a video to see how old socket 771 Xeons modded for 775 hold up in 2020 👍

wow, I remember when I used to deal with all my video games like this. Minecraft at 10fps, csgo at 25-30, old call of duty at 15-20fps, and I do not miss that at all. with my current setup running, I haven't seen frame rates like that since 2014. It really makes you appreciate what getting older and getting a job does for you! I fell out of gaming though, so I never really bought any new titles. my rx 580 and 6600k might struggle a bit on brand new AAA titles, but I don't really play them anyways, so I don't feel like I'll need to upgrade for a LONG time.
That GPU is literally what I'm using in my system right now, almost a decade and a half old and she's still running with only minor problems and a few graphical glitches

A suggestion rather than a criticism, but it would have been interesting to have seen the PC upgraded in increments, to see what made CSG more playable: RAM, CPU, graphics.
Fun fact about the 2600, it is actually very close to being 1/2 the GPU of the xbox 360, just at a higher clock speed than the console version. Both are on first generation Terascale architecture, however the 2600 came out later so is on a more modern fab process and faster clock speed. Either way it has 1/2 the cores, 1/2 the TMU's and 1/2 the ROP's of the xbox 360 gpu. So.... pretty horrible
Dust 2 is not a map that you should do a benchmark with that pc,also in casuals and deathmatches you have less fps than competitives so a better benchmark would be on a scrimage mirage in 1154x864 or 1024x768,some optimizing made before the benchmark for windows 7 and also lowering the ram usage so more ram would be allocated to cs go
When CS:BLOW came out the game wouldn't even launch on less than 3 CPU cores and your FPS was trash(sub 150fps) without a 7850 GPU or better. It was actually harder to run in 2011-2012. Just an FYI from someone who's played CS since 2000 and had one of the first beta keys to CS:BLOW.
I used to have a q6600 system on a asus P5Q deluxe motherboard years back and i had nothing but issues with it in the exact same situations that you said for the cpu and ram, it seemed to be awfully selective over what it would consider to be 'seated' and acknowledged in the system... Bloody annoying it was

More pros use 4:3 than 16:9 for CS. Running Lubuntu will net you more FPS. 3kliksphilip has several videos on what settings do what in CS. Would be worth trying the new launch option to see if it boosts performance, as you can always just remove it if it doesn’t.
just saying ,the only requirements you need in the recent versions of csgo are ryzen 3 2200g or something intel equivalent , rx 560, minimum 8gb ram and a corsair tx 650, you can have csgo run on the highest graphics except for anti aliassing ect. but yeah other than that csgo will run smoothly . and it can run destiny 2 ,gta v , and rust on low settings and it will cost u about £500 for the pc. :)
Like that socket. You can make lot of stuff with this. My low budget Corona PC I build at my parentshouse was based on this. 771 modded xeon pushed to 3.7ghz and an oem 750ti oc. Borderlands 3 on lowest at 45 frames avg. Incredible what you can build for under 50 bucks
The reason you don't see any change on 640x480 is that you are hosting your own bot game which has a big impact on the CPU, especially for an E6600. If you want to see if it's capable of running acceptable FPS in a competitive environment load up a real 5v5 or join some retake servers as these don't have that much people in them.

Well, I can tell you guys that C2D E7300 (3.3ghz) and a 6870 runs at constant 60 (my max refresh rate) on 1080p medium! If you were to overclock that thing to 2.8-3.0 ghz, I guarantee you'd get a much smoother gameplay as well as a few extra frames. Core 2 duo's still make sense
Try to do the test again but set some launch options in cs go to see if it has major difference. Also 1280x960 is the resolution most cs go pro players use to this day so the minimum spec requirements ain't far off. they should just update the gpu requirement to at least 500mb and it should be good

I have one with 16gb ddr3 asus p45 ddr3 mobo, thermaltake Bigwater and x5470 and 2x r9 280x in Cf. Oced to 4.6Ghz works great xept Apex legends.

A suggestion rather than a criticism, but it would have been interesting to have seen the PC upgraded in increments, to see what made CSG more playable: RAM, CPU, graphics.

Fun fact about the 2600, it is actually very close to being 1/2 the GPU of the xbox 360, just at a higher clock speed than the console version. Both are on first generation Terascale architecture, however the 2600 came out later so is on a more modern fab process and faster clock speed. Either way it has 1/2 the cores, 1/2 the TMU's and 1/2 the ROP's of the xbox 360 gpu. So.... pretty horrible

i used to run CS:GO at 800x600 at all low at 20fps, on my aunts amd athelon 2 1gb of ram and no gpu.. ah the good ole days of silver 1

Dust 2 is not a map that you should do a benchmark with that pc,also in casuals and deathmatches you have less fps than competitives so a better benchmark would be on a scrimage mirage in 1154x864 or 1024x768,some optimizing made before the benchmark for windows 7 and also lowering the ram usage so more ram would be allocated to cs go

When CS:BLOW came out the game wouldn't even launch on less than 3 CPU cores and your FPS was trash(sub 150fps) without a 7850 GPU or better. It was actually harder to run in 2011-2012.
Just an FYI from someone who's played CS since 2000 and had one of the first beta keys to CS:BLOW.
I used to have a q6600 system on a asus P5Q deluxe motherboard years back and i had nothing but issues with it in the exact same situations that you said for the cpu and ram, it seemed to be awfully selective over what it would consider to be 'seated' and acknowledged in the system... Bloody annoying it was
My PC with an i3-3220, 4GB RAM and a 2GB 750ti can't get past the loading screen. But you can with those specifications? This is absurd!

More pros use 4:3 than 16:9 for CS. Running Lubuntu will net you more FPS. 3kliksphilip has several videos on what settings do what in CS. Would be worth trying the new launch option to see if it boosts performance, as you can always just remove it if it doesn’t.

just saying ,the only requirements you need in the recent versions of csgo are ryzen 3 2200g or something intel equivalent , rx 560, minimum 8gb
ram and a corsair tx 650, you can have csgo run on the highest graphics except for anti aliassing ect. but yeah other than that csgo will run smoothly . and it can run destiny 2 ,gta v , and rust on low settings and it will cost u about £500 for the pc. :)

Like that socket. You can make lot of stuff with this. My low budget Corona PC I build at my parentshouse was based on this. 771 modded xeon pushed to 3.7ghz and an oem 750ti oc. Borderlands 3 on lowest at 45 frames avg. Incredible what you can build for under 50 bucks

The reason you don't see any change on 640x480 is that you are hosting your own bot game which has a big impact on the CPU, especially for an E6600. If you want to see if it's capable of running acceptable FPS in a competitive environment load up a real 5v5 or join some retake servers as these don't have that much people in them.

I have a i7 8700 asrock z-370 pro4 mobo and a 1070 xlr8 gpu. Looking for ideas on 32g of ram. The ram I have is 16g clocked at 2200 and is from 2009. Well, I can tell you guys that C2D E7300 (3.3ghz) and a 6870 runs at constant 60 (my max refresh rate) on 1080p medium!
If you were to overclock that thing to 2.8-3.0 ghz, I guarantee you'd get a much smoother gameplay as well as a few extra frames.
Core 2 duo's still make sense
Try to do the test again but set some launch options in cs go to see if it has major difference.
Also 1280x960 is the resolution most cs go pro players use to this day so the minimum spec requirements ain't far off. they should just update the gpu requirement to at least 500mb and it should be good
