Just recently upgraded from a 4690K. A huge difference in performance going to an 8600K. The 4670K/4690K are still great processors for gaming. I had mine paired with an Asus Strix 1080 and was pretty consistently above my 75hz refresh rate.
I am running an i5 4670k with a 1060 and can confirm those to are a match made in heaven for budget gaming. I got my pc for €360,- for an i5 4670k, msi z97 g5 mobo, gtx 1060 (6gb) and 16 gb of corsair vengance ddr3 @2133mhz
Awesome pick up. In the past 2 days I picked up a PC with an i7 3770, 32gb Corsair ram, a beefy noctua cooler, a gtx 660 2gb, and a Corsair 650w semi modular psu. The motherboard was a ASRock z77 extreme but as the seller told me, it was no longer working. I paid $85 for all of it in a huge case. Just today I got a i5 3570k, 16gb ram, Asus rog lga 1155 motherboard, and a 256gb SSD for $140. Not a bad haul I don't think.
That is a great deal for that PC. I am still using a 4670k with a 970 and it works great. That BitFenix case is still worth some good money too. Good pick up

Nice deal! You might want to get rid of that stock heatsink, and delid that thing, and you can really push it (assuming the motherboard has decent VRMs)! 4.4-4.6 GHz should be doable on it. I'm still running the 4790K as my primary system, even though I built an 8086K system as a portable in a Corsair 380T case last year (the cost to relicense software would be too much to make the 8086K the primary at this time, but it does get a lot of use as well). Definitely delid that and get some Conductonaut on that die and put a real heatsink on it. The Prodigy should also support a 240mm AIO without any problems.

Everything on Facebook and eBay is a ‘Gaming PC’. 😂 Edit - watching the video now - you got a great price. Good little machine. 😊👍 I’ve just bought a 4570 Optiplex SFF for £110 from eBay - which I’m running just using the onboard graphics, PCSX2, Retroarch, and streaming Steam from my main PC. Put a SDD and another 8gb in it, and running it as a TV console emulator. Well happy with the performance. Intel 4600 integrated graphics are fine for retro stuff - even PS2. BTW - needed some money, and just put my 5700 XT on eBay, and it’s gone mental. I’m going retro this year. I’ll whack a LP 1650 in my Optiplex once the prices are normal (end of year?). Great videos dude, keep it up. 🖖
It could be due to this rig running an ITX mobo, the ones brought out around the Haswell era weren’t great. That and the fact Intel were sandbagging like crazy and Haswell wasn’t much of a step up from your Ivy Bridge chip. Are you using an ATX mobo? I’m guessing you are.
Got that i5 clocked at 4.5GHz @1.2V, never going over 60-70C, but it's paired with a 1080. Games hardly ever drop below 60, maxed out, unless it's an unoptimized crap, or an MMO with lots of players on the screen at the same time. :D It's still decent for an almost 6y old chip.
For 200$ a 4670k and a gtx770 is really a good deal. And very capable at 1080p low-setting gaming. The 770 is comparable to a gtx 960 or 1050Ti in performance, but draws a lot more power. Though selling the 770 for ~50$ and getting a used 170-200$ card (GTX 980/1060 6GB AMD R9 Nano/Fury/480/580) might be a good choice.
What a hell are you guys doing?? Unless you got those cards as an amazing deal, they won't last long. 1660TI and 2060 is the next mid range thing. Our RX580s and GTX1060s will become obsolete in a year.

I got a pretty good deal on US eBay and I saw another selling selling the same rig for the same price recently, it's not always available though. It's a Dell 7010 Mini Tower with an i7 3770, 16GB DDR3 1600 RAM and a 1TB HDD (my seller listed 500GB but they had a lot of systems so I just got lucky) for $180. I added a 240GB SSD for 30, a used GTX 1060 6GB for 155, and a 600W EVGA PSU for $40. My friend gave me the PSU from his old rig so it wasn't included in my budget so I upped the GPU from a 1050ti to 1060 since I could. If you just want to use the base system you don't need an SSD, I was surprised how quick Windows 7 worked since it was already installed on the hard drive before I clean installed W10 on the SSD. You can also use a 1050ti on basically any system, this one had a stock 275W PSU which was enough for it but not any card with a dedicated power pin(s). Overall I only spent $370 on my gaming rig and I'm very happy with it.
Indeed around three years ago I used that case in order to build a VR computer for my work with an i7-6700K and a Zotac GTX 1080 Mini and it was quite a nice thing and a pretty portable small computer. In the end the price was pretty nice for what you got there!
Just FYI, the Prodigy is 100% an ITX case. They did release the Prodigy M later though, which is an mATX variant with the motherboard in the traditional vertical mounting style

I'm actually super jealous of this really good find. That PC could easily handle a GPU twice its price and be a really good portable gaming PC that you could transport to your living room if you're feeling like it and play some games on your TV
@@wolfshanze5980 I mean, I thought it would've been pretty clear that if I was talking about overclocking it definitely entailed changing the cooler. And in small cases like these is where 120mm AIOs that offer no real cooling advantage over air coolers shine. If you have a normal case it makes no sense buying a 120mm AIO over a normal air cooler since its more expensive but offers the same level of cooling, but for tiny cases like these? That's where tiny AIOs really become useful.
Let's just note that in the real world such deals are rare. If this is your bread and butter less so, but for the average person to stumble upon this is pure gold.

Theres a ton of PCs near me. there's a "gaming PC" that you can tell from the photo has no graphics card in it for £110, some ancient HP and Dell stuff that looks like PC world specials from the early 2000s, a "Quad core with 2GB graphics (and no further details) for £200, a tpn of refurb office PCs that people have shoved half height GTX1050s in to try to flip them for a profit and a pretty nice looking i5-8400/gtx1050ti that actually looks pretty tasty apart from the fact it's £540 and I coult get the same thing brand new for that much. So I don;t see myself finding bargains any time soon on my local market despite it being pretty busy
Love how in battlefield 5 you did like a triple kill by killing your team mates 😂😂😂😂 love your videos tho

Ya... the Haswell i5 matches well with the 1060... my daughter has the same setup.
I bought an i7 3770 from the Amazon used market for $13 last month........just throwing that out there for no reason
Nice wtf :D
Wow that is an absolute bargain. May as well buy one just to buy one
I pick 3770ks up whenever I find cheap ones. Always make a good base for a cheap system. Still a brilliant cpu

That is a great deal for that PC. I am still using a 4670k with a 970 and it works great. That BitFenix case is still worth some good money too. Good pick up
it's always interesting to see these videos of old pcs and how well they perform, but I always wonder how much better they can do when their main bottleneck is upgraded, I think that would be even more interesting to see

Cool machine man! The 770 isn't a bad card, the 4GB version at least, very capable. The fact that NVIDIA stopped supporting it though, that's the deathblow :(
RIP GTX 770.

Everything on Facebook and eBay is a ‘Gaming PC’. 😂
Edit - watching the video now - you got a great price. Good little machine. 😊👍
I’ve just bought a 4570 Optiplex SFF for £110 from eBay - which I’m running just using the onboard graphics, PCSX2, Retroarch, and streaming Steam from my main PC.

Maybe it's because you have the 4GB version of the 770.
@@mathze no there is almost no difference in performance between 2gb vs 4gb version

Don't listen to him, the 1050 is super overpriced these days. Better to get an RX 560 or 570. They will both be bottlenecked by that CPU, though.
Ben je Nederlands?

Hey, Steve. Love your stuff. Are you going to try overclocking that 4670K on the motherboard it came with? If you use the right bios version, it should be totally doable.
I have a rig very similar to this I'm planning on putting a 4790k in it and a 1080ti just waiting on the right time to buy the 1080
Indeed around three years ago I used that case in order to build a VR computer for my work with an i7-6700K and a Zotac GTX 1080 Mini and it was quite a nice thing and a pretty portable small computer. In the end the price was pretty nice for what you got there!
Just FYI, the Prodigy is 100% an ITX case. They did release the Prodigy M later though, which is an mATX variant with the motherboard in the traditional vertical mounting style

This is a ridiculously good find. Overclock that baby to over 4GHz, slap 8 more gigs of ram into that beauty and voila, you've got a PC that could easily handle a GTX 1070 and play any games at max settings without breaking a sweat.
I'm actually super jealous of this really good find. That PC could easily handle a GPU twice its price and be a really good portable gaming PC that you could transport to your living room if you're feeling like it and play some games on your TV
He won't be doing much CPU overclocking with that stock Intel Cooler... and not sure how much room he has for a decent cooler in that tiny case.
