Andy Murray was probably one of the 20 best tennis players of all time. @davidcb4946 Nothing funny about having a fave player. The funny thing is when people proclaim their fave player the goat, regardless of what stats are showing, like Federer's fans for example.
4 challengers in the BIG4-ruling era, Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic, Marin Čilić, and Grigor Dimitrov. I respect all of them from bottom of my heart. They all had chance to win Grand Slams many times if BIG4 had not existed in the same time. Though only Čilić won a Grand Slam after all, they have shown us many spectacular matches against BIG4, impressing us. Their great achievement in the world of tennis should not be forgotten for a long time.
David Ferrer, Tomas Berdych, Stan Wawrinka and Wilfred Tsonga also... They would have completely ruled the tour nowadays, very unlucky for them playing against the goats back to back every tournament.
@@SergioGonzalez-kq4ot I agree. I mentioned about only players who were born in around 1990s, and indeed the players you chose are surely victims of BIG4... They all were born in early 1980s, so I am amazed again to know how long the BIG4-rulling era continued...
And it's not even over yet! He can probably squeeze out another 30 something weeks before he no longer will have a chance...that's potentially 450+ weeks...
Kuerten had one the strongest peaks ever in Tennis against freaking titans. One of the best, a bit underrated nowadays. Wasn't a long run, but was a freaking beastly run.
if we take Nole, Rafa and Roger individually, it's impressive what they've done and they achived so far more than anyone has ever done. But if we look at them as a trio, it's even more outstanding: all of them have won at least 20 slam and all of them have been n°1 for at least 200 weeks, with the other two around almost all the time! Even if their records will be broken by someone else, we have to think about that. It's such a gift that Nadal, Djokovic and Federer existed in the same era!

I always asked myself why some were talking about the „Big 4“ including Murray (with only 3 grand slams). But if you watch this video you understand why.. he’s consistently within reach or above Nadal, Federer and Djokovic for years - what a player
Really impressive from Rublev his consistency with staying around 5/6 for so many years. Hopefully he gets his mentality right and is able to reach the top 3. He has such potential.
Well considering he was world number one for years on end and in top contention from 2003 to 2020 there’s an argument there for it. But yes I do think Djokovic is better in his prime.
All right! The open era is enough. How about discussing ATP players with most weeks at no. 1 before open era? Because i read some articles and i found out that the list of no. 1 ATP players before open era: 1) Rod Laver: 374 weeks 2) Bill Tilden: 368 weeks 3) Willie Renshaw: 366 weeks 4) Pancho Gonzales: 365 weeks 5) Ellsworth Vines: 280 weeks 6) Jack Kramer: 279 weeks 7) Laurie Doherty: 262 weeks 8) Tony Wilding: 244 weeks 9) Ken Rosewall and Reggie Doherty: 208 weeks But another article states that the list of no. 1 ATP players before open era: 1) Bill Tenden: 723 weeks 2) Rod Laver: 452 weeks 3) Tony Wilding: 378 weeks If I'm not mistaken, they got more weeks at no. 1 cuz they not only played single, but also mixed double and men's double so their weeks of no. 1 was also also accumulated. Moreover, it was right that they all won GS in every sectors not only single, but also both mixed double and men's double. Correct me if i am wrong
to be fair, there is a context, top 5 was out, it was empty : Djoko forbidden to play, Medvedev totally out mentally after losing to Nadal in AO Nadal hurt after RG, Zverev very hurt after RG but congrats to Carlos for being strong at a time when there was no contender in the top 5
So funny that part when Novak injured 2017 and swiftly went down from the throne so Nadal and Federer swiftly jumped out to lead while cat is gone. Then after Novak returned he took back the throne faster than he fell down. What a goatker
Yeah if Djokovic got his elbow fixed sooner, or that injury never happened, I doubt we would have saw federers 2017 season with his 5 big titles that year
Same goes for Rafa 2015-2016. Nadal got injured almost 3 years if we combine all his injuries. I’m still convinced that he would have been the greatest without them and he would hold the record for Slam titles. He won more matches in Grand Slams against Djokovic and against Federer also.
We tend to forget that in terms of the rankings, it really was the Big Four until Murray’s injury. Sure, he was never in the same rarified air as the other three, but he was at the business end of tournaments for eight years.

I love Murray, but he is more overrated.
Many people call Big3 but I always call Big4, Murray stay very long in rank 1-4. And he ever climb to No1. and won grand slams.

Nishikori could have been #2 eventually if he didn't choke against Cilic.
It's a shame, but a source of pride for Japan.
if we take Nole, Rafa and Roger individually, it's impressive what they've done and they achived so far more than anyone has ever done.

All right! The open era is enough. How about discussing ATP players with most weeks at no. 1 before open era? Because i read some articles and i found out that the list of no. 1 ATP players before open era:
1) Rod Laver: 374 weeks
2) Bill Tilden: 368 weeks
3) Willie Renshaw: 366 weeks
4) Pancho Gonzales: 365 weeks
5) Ellsworth Vines: 280 weeks
6) Jack Kramer: 279 weeks
7) Laurie Doherty: 262 weeks
8) Tony Wilding: 244 weeks
9) Ken Rosewall and Reggie Doherty: 208 weeks
But another article states that the list of no. 1 ATP players before open era:
1) Bill Tenden: 723 weeks
2) Rod Laver: 452 weeks
3) Tony Wilding: 378 weeks
If I'm not mistaken, they got more weeks at no. 1 cuz they not only played single, but also mixed double and men's double so their weeks of no. 1 was also also accumulated. Moreover, it was right that they all won GS in every sectors not only single, but also both mixed double and men's double. Correct me if i am wrong
The rise of Alcaraz was astronomic, top 10 in april 2022 and n1 in september the same year 🥶
to be fair, there is a context, top 5 was out, it was empty :
Djoko forbidden to play, Medvedev totally out mentally after losing to Nadal in AO
Nadal hurt after RG, Zverev very hurt after RG
but congrats to Carlos for being strong at a time when there was no contender in the top 5
