    I got me a pair of 7” rectangular side shooter LED’s for the front and they make a world of difference going over rough rocks at nite…great add on 👍🏼

      Yeah once you have led pods or a light bar. It’s hard to believe that you went without them for so long. Thanks for watching!

    I love my red Hondas, but that blue Rubicon looks damn good! I recommend using only ethanol-free gas in all small engines if possible.

      Yup…I just add some octane boost to bring it up to 92 keeping the motor happy..👍🏼

    Great review, thinking about a DCT Ruby myself! My 2001 Rubicon had the hondamatic CVT style that worked well for my plowing and hauling needs for 20 years, great machines.

    Great review. I think my next mod will be the Kolpin Rhino grips. Those were the ones I was contemplating and now you confirmed those are the ones to get. I did somewhat the same with my rear storage box (I did a video on this). The lighting is all self contained so the box can be easily removed. Thanks.

    I’m in the market for a new 520 Rubicon or foreman. I’m checking out every review and video I can find at the moment. Your review is hands-down the best I’ve seen. 100 times better than any of the big channels! They all give the same stupid talking points that anybody can read on the brochure and in that stupid cadence they all use.
    How have you found towing? Does it squat really bad?

    • @tipsyrippers
      @tipsyrippers  ปีที่แล้ว

      First thanks a lot I really appreciate that comment. I’m glad we try and do things others don’t on this channel. To answer your question about towing. As far as squatting I haven’t really noticed it squatting I also haven’t really had a lot directly on the rack or. A whole lot of tongue weight on it I should say. My yard trailer I tow is about 4X8 which. I guess I’ve said about in the video. So I won’t go into detail about that but anyways. I have the shocks set to factory still haven’t messed with them. So anyways no bad squatting that I know of !

    You may want to take it back to the dealership for the sifting issues, it's not normal, and if you do research that can damage the transmission. People have found metal fragments, one post I read Honda had to rebuild the entire engine. Do some research online, the issue with the DCT are ongoing and lots of people have complained online, in 2020 and 2021 Honda did a recall on it, and for some people it was a temp fix. I was going to buy a Honda, but because of this, and test driving a 2022 Rancher with DCT that was traded in with 3 miles on it and that clearly had a transmission issue, I went with another Can Am. I have owned two new Honda Ranchers previously with DCT and neither ever drove or shifted like that. I would at least put a complaint in with the dealership about it and make them look at it.

      Do you mean how it shifts in the video or how I talked about I had one issue with it not shifting ?

      @@tipsyrippers The initial rough shifting when it's cold, that is not normal and could be damaging your transmission. I would look it up online, lots of people having various issues.

    How has the DCT been for you? Have you had any issues with it? I decided to order one with dct for plowing I like how easy it goes into reverse by passing neutral. I know some ppl had some issues with the 20-21’s but a software update came out and fixed slot of the issues. Just wondering how yours has been. Thanks

    • @tipsyrippers
      @tipsyrippers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will say I like it a lot. When I’m on the road or a nice trial it’s always in automatic. Other than that I find myself once in a while down shifting and typically when I go off-road on like a rough trail or towing I put it in manual mode and heck I’ve even used it in low range in automatic and it does fine. I love the reverse also I have found it’s best to come to a complete stop before trying to shift it. I feel like it’s hard on it if you shift it to fast. Lastly the only problem. I had with it is I was auto and had to back up really quick but it was cold out and the engine wasn’t warm and I shifted to reverse and then it wouldn’t go into reverse. It came up blank on the screen for the gear it was in. I did attempt it 2 times to shift even into neutral etc. I simply shut the key off turned it back and and it went right into neutral and worked fine.

      @@tipsyrippers great info thanks! I look forward to taking delivery of mine. I really like the idea of the dct especially for plowing. Thanks again

    • @bettysmith4527
      @bettysmith4527 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would proceed with caution on that, the DCTs still have been having problems, and for a lot of people, Honda's "fix" was only temporary. I was dead set on getting Honda, and I did research this issue and assumed they had resolved it, until I test rode a used 2022 Rancher with DCT with 3 miles on it (this was two weeks ago). It CLEARLY had some issues with the transmission and shifting, hunting for gears, and it sounded like it was running at a higher idle than it should have been. I have owned two Honda Ranchers new, and neither ever shifted or ran that rough! Some people have had to have a new transmission, one post the guy said they had to rebuild the whole engine because it did so much damage, he obviously demanded a new ATV. I would worry not just about now, but long term how will this effect the ATV's longevity. Anywho, I decided to steer clear of Honda, and I went with another Can AM.

    • @Sdm07120
      @Sdm07120 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bettysmith4527 interesting, I ended up taking delivery of the Honda but was not satisfied with it or the transmission. I sold it and also bought another can am. This is my 3rd can am, great units.

    • @bettysmith4527
      @bettysmith4527 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sdm07120 sorry that happened to you, I am thankful I test drove that used one that was defective so I didn't commit to a Honda. I bought a brand new Can Am in 2017 and it had some sort of issue where it would nearly stall or stall when you first pushed the throttle in or when you were about to let it go, but it would restart back up, and it wouldn't do it all the time. I was very dissatisfied with the dealership where I bought it, as they kept telling me it was bad gas or that themachiine needed to warm up, all lies... So I wasn't honestly never going to buy another Can AM, I was dead set on a Honda, but after learning about all the trans issues I ended up going with the Can AM, the last one never left me stranded in five years that I had it at least, even if something was defective from the factory. Needless to say, the Can Am I just bought I got it new and insisted on a test drive before signing anything, and so far it's been fine. Good luck with yours as well, happy riding!
