@@unspoken7704 Nah, they just make it look like they're trying harder than the rest. "The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth." No one is born "crazy," this world is simply so cold that it makes good people do crazy things.
I do agree but it's good to acknowledge that some people are indeed born "crazy" meaning their genetics make it more likely for them to be violent or have impulsive thoughts such as shooting someone, etc...
@@Danuxsy It's my understanding that if there is a genetic component to mental illness (which, unless I'm mistaken, has not yet been definitively proven), environmental conditions play the largest role in developing the kind of disordered thinking that might cause an individual to become violent or to shoot someone. Would you mind to point me toward the evidence you are using to support the claim that some people are "born crazy"?
@@Danuxsy No one is born with impulsive thoughts to shoot people, that is a thought that arises from unhealed wounds, aka childhood trauma and/or bullying. Some people are certainly born with a higher propensity for violence than others, but once again that violence must still be brought out of them, no one is simply born that way. Those same people born with a propensity for violence are also born with a propensity for compassion.
Some people are definitely born crazy but it isn't the high amount we see now, SSRI drugs have a major part in how kids act too. Instead of trying to put kids into therapy or other means they just force feed them drugs.
The most common and predictable factor in all school shooters is a lack of socialization, or poor socialization, and a lack of positive relationships. They are almost always people who are languishing at the fringes of our society. If someone feels that society shows nothing but contempt to them, it is quite easy for hatred to build up inside of them. Always be kind to people, and try and include everyone. Loneliness is a killer.
It's simple. Men aren't getting laid anymore and are angry so they shoot up. Also the average woman's ego has been so overly inflated by the liberals that they won't associate with average men anymore. That's fine. But now you have mass shootings to balance out the discrepancy.
some people shouldn't or can't be included in society, it's a human paradox, the best that can be done is being much more alert over mental illness, that's really about it. weirdos, outcasts and fuckups will always exist in one way or another and they will always cause damage if their sick minds get fixed on doing it, the only reason they use guns in the united states is because they have firearms much more normalized than other countries, it's why you don't see shootings in other countries but rather stabbings, cars going on the sidewalk, arson or acid attacks. some people can be irredeemable.
Good advice, it's not complicated, if you don't like someone have nothing or as little to do with then but going out of your way to cause someone to feel negatively, can potentially result in negative actions. Be polite. It's free. ✌️
Nailed it. I've been saying this since the late 2000s. Schools are cesspools of Machiavellian virtue-signaling mids (and most of them never change), and there's a war against boys and men. When a boy is attacked from every possible direction by a system that doesn't even seem to be made of sentient life, let alone one that could ever care about them, then they learn that they are at war with it. Personally, I used that anger to fuel this micro-empire, but many others just turn it into drugs, jail, self delete, or another one of these political fodder news stories. “A child that is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth” -African proverb

The way he frames his statements as purely his opinions with no intention of challenging your personal beliefs - whilst acknowledging he may also be incorrect - and even knowing it's likely only viewed by his fans, really speaks to TV's ability to remain humble through open communication. That mindset is what society should embrace. Important discussions need to remain on the table
It’s the over-commercialization of America. We have lost the sense of purpose because we no longer have close connections with parents, community, church/religion, etc. Everyone feels like just a number. This is absolutely spot on. Divorce rates are overwhelming. Parents are working at overwhelming rates. Most homes are broken. There’s division being used as race, sex, gender, social status, etc. It’s a huge population of small clicks or cults, and we no longer have unification towards one another, and you have mass amounts of insecurity and longing for companionship. It’s sad man.
You are a society of crybabies and no one should want armed crybabies. That's the only reason. Those problems he was talking about are issues every developed country has,but you are the only one with mass shootings all the time Because you are crybabies. Facts.
It's like this all over western cultures. I had a Chinese friend thats been to many place but has lived in the Philippines, Brazil and UK. He had a phrase that basically sums up this sentiment in regard to western countries which was "In the UK I had 5 friends, in Brazil I had 500." Western cultures are becoming very individualist, a quarter of children don't even know who their own father is, they'll barely know their grandparents and their neighbours are total strangers to them
50% of the population (women) seldom lash out violently though. Women are going through all these bad things but they still don’t commit these crimes at the high rate that men do.
@@OompaL0ompa it is the difference is just in the weapons they use since guns are very hard to get in most countries, instead they have enormous amounts of knife crime. Once again, a comedian providing a much more insightful commentary on life than literally anyone else. Thank you, Theo. That was well thought out and empathetic, which is lacking these days.

When I was in school about 15 years ago, there was a kid who clearly had some issues likely stemming from a bad home life- so he acted out in school at times. He also got bullied a lot. He was very intelligent. Teachers treated him like a burden- I remember once he raised a point in class during discussion and while it was probably argumentative, he was right and it was a good point. The teacher in that class (who I liked a lot as a teacher) told him sternly and loudly to shut his mouth or go to the principals office. It's unnecessary public displays of disrespect and condescension like that which turn a kid against their school and everyone in it. When your home life is hell and you go to school and get rejected in little ways like that all the time, by both teachers and peers- that's when you get a school shooter. Everyone is just angry. And who can blame them. Everyone is underpaid and overworked. Our society just sucks anymore, man. Healthcare sucks, wages suck, price of everything sucks, bosses suck, retirement is practically non existent- all while politicians and CEOs are sitting back laughing, fat and happy. The only thing people give a shit about is profit and growth. Why take pride in your work when they just want a body. They don't want a loyal employee who figures out the business and does a great job- because if they do a great job and the company grows- their paycheck reflects it. Teachers told us when we were little that if we didn't study we'd be living in a van under the bridge. The more time goes on, somehow that's turning into the goal. Capitalism is a good thing but not when it's totally unregulated and as out of control as it currently is. Our country could be so, so prosperous right now but it's been ruined by a tiny, tiny percentage of the population. Everyone could have good jobs, benefits, time off, support for families and working single parents etc...you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours kinda thing...but .01% of the population have decided they're going to totally drain the lake a little more every year- until we're out of water, so to speak. Because maintaining corporate profits of billions of dollars every quarter is more important than a happy and healthy society, I guess. It's my opinion that corporate greed is at the root of most problems in the US right now, including, in a roundabout way- school shooters.
It's your country. We don't have that fucked up shit in Australia. Kid gets bullied and has terrible home life? He don't bring a knife to school and go on a rampage. Your country is fucked up and that's not an insult 😢
Most people can't even imagine that MOST school teachers are 'Marxist Feminists'. It doesn't even cross their minds, and even if described explicitly... they jump into defense mode. Why? Because Marxist Feminism is innately violent and that gets passed on to children. In 1967 when the KGB subsidized Feminists met with Lyndon Johnson, and he only supported the CRA, they were very disappointed so decided to take over America, first... the schools.
it's lack of religion you guys in west have, even those who say they are christian are as atheist in behavior and values as the typical atheists so no wonder people become atheist when church is like a business and symbol, nothing much spiritual

For every 1 school shooter there are probably 1000 people living in complete desperation. We as a society need to figure out our purpose and our calling for this lost generation.
Just compare how many boys "delete" themselfes. The shooters often do an assisted suicide. They aren't scared to kill someone, because they care as much about them as others care about them. But they are scared of killing themselfes.
We have our calling we are the end of the American Dream. No more being asleep to the ugly truth of the world and no more being made to look away from the filth brought on by our ancestors. This school shooter problem has been long coming and there were signs that everyone chose to ignore not wanting to face reality. Gen z and Gen Alpha will be given a big task of rejecting the modernizing world and embrace tradition. The only way we can get free is to build new strong communities and it must be done soon otherwise another nation will replace us.

I feel that just dismissively saying "that person was a monster" is the easy answer, and most people never look beyond that. Thanks for looking a little deeper, Theo.
A few months ago my cousin died of cancer. When she was ill I had some personal concerns for her and my parents and, big surprise, I found myself “researching” about it. And I almost ended up in a spiral of depression and nihilism. Life lost its meaning, because the algorithm kept feeding me with the worst health problems one can imagine, everywhere, Facebook, Instagram, TH-cam, wherever. I broke the cycle and stopped the harassment by looking different content, music, self improvement, sports, etc. But the biggest hypocrisy is that Social Media bans the word s**cide, yet it drowns us on a state of anxiety, fear, uncertainty and mind control that could easily lead on taking our lives. Peace for all of you.
With the word suicide being banned out of putting people in a bad mindset, we end up making the word dirty. When we make the word dirty, we make the subject taboo, and ironically, people don't get the help they need.
Banning the word "suicide" is like some ill placed bandaid on the body of a cancer patient, it does nothing to mitigate or resolve the underlying issue(s).
I'm honestly fascinated by how profound Theo's opinions are in this vid. The man is not only a comedian, he can be serious too! And I agree with like everything he is saying.
It speaks volumes, that comedians are the only ones using their platforms speaking truths. Everything he said was 100% accurate and genuine. It’s sad how out of touch America has become.
As someone who was completely ridiculed and bullied from kindergarten to senior year- I completely understand why there are school shooters. My mom died when I was 12- all the kids and even school staff- teachers included- didn’t care, didn’t allow me space to grieve. Specifically, she died on a Wednesday. My dad pulled me out of school the morning she died and I missed Thursday and Friday. Came back on Monday, my classmates including my teacher made a snarky ass comment about her death. I was bullied being a white girl in a predominantly Hispanic and Portuguese community. No one wanted to be friends with me and everytime I tried to play sports or put myself out there, I was rejected everytime. So yes, I can understand how people can be so cruel to others over and over again until someone finally snaps. I snapped in the way of having anxiety attacks that would make me pass out at school and kids would wish I’d die. Try laying on the ground, struggling to breathe and having kids point and make fun of you…. I hated my childhood and the community in which I grew up.
I also had a very difficult childhood. I was ostracized by my fellow students and teachers. I have had periods of intense despair and anger and I also understand it. I would never say that out loud where someone I know could hear that though. I believe that what Theo is touching on is the fact that the "order" has been taken out of our society. You could call it the masculine element. We need a strong, secure, yet loving structure to guide us along and we do not have that in this culture currently. Thats why many of these shooters are young men. They're angry live wires with no where to channel their current. They need a channel for that energy and that channel doesn't exist.
@@calebtot I think the last point you made is the thing that stands out to me the most. You see a lot of these male figures like Jordan Peterson for example who have taken over by storm because there seems to be a huge gap in young men's lives.

I use Facebook but it's only for funny memes and to use marketplace lol. Could not care less about the bullshit that gets spread on there. Sometimes pages I like post their articles on there and it's an easy place to have everything be seen but my feed is filled with what I want not things I don't need. Thanks for making this Theo. It's heartening to see such sensitivity and compassion. Nothing is more toxic than isolation. And thats the world we live in. Its the world we are creating and preserving through social media. I can't speak for everyone, but I know that whenever I listen to your podcast I do not feel alone. So truly, thank you. We love you Theo!!!
It's a direct result of generations of Aktivnye Meropriyatiya, specifically the Demoralization and Destabilization stages, the goal for those first two stages is to make society sick in multiple ways, pin people against one another, showing a future of no hope and confuse people on how to fix the issues and give them false issues to argue about as the nation crumbles. Soon after is "Crisis" this starts with purposely destabilizing an economy, mass chaos followed by disarmament and then Normalization of tyranny. Yuri Bezmenov explained this in the G.Edward Griffin interview back in the 80's and he was absolutely spot on. Demoralization is no joke, if people actually understand how deep this goes it will blow their mind.
About a year ago, there is a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. I was asked to play cello for a dead students funeral. That was one of the most heart wrenching experiences of my life.
The rise in atheism has a lot to do with that, one study shown that women who attended church were 3 times less likely to commit suicide than those who didn't.
Definitely right about going down the rabbit hole. I’ve been down some myself. I would never get to a point where i’d physically hurt anybody over it but it does put you in a real hateful and miserable place. In his words “they got you gassed up, telling you, you’re right, you’re right”. That is exactly how it feels. Just mad at society, thinking you have all the answers and everybody else is wrong. Combine that with no friends or family, hobbies, etc. and I can only imagine how much that will make someone feel like they have nothing to lose. Luckily i’ve always have friends and family that care about me and overall a decent life.
Thank you for using your space to speak this message in a very respectful, thoughtful way. I’ve always loved your stand up and podcasts, and now I will always love you as a truly, profoundly good man. Thanks man.
We are very lucky that we grew up in a time where we were influenced by what physically surrounded us and didn’t spend much time on electronics. Even if our parents worked jobs they took care of us and it gave us a sense of gratitude and respect. There’s too many things that have changed in this world that has caused families to be so detached and that truly is a very big problem
Very insightful Theo. A conversation we all need to be discussing more often. My opinion is people need to keep up with their children, and stay involved with their activities they'll include you in to talking about and not just for the sake of them not shooting up a place, but only for the reason of love. Some of us know what hard living is. If you really love your children, this shouldn't be hard at all.
You can pretty much boil the issue down to lack of full coverage quality health insurance and then the other is social media/toxic news companies like Fox corrupting peoples minds. You shouldn’t be able to make bold claims without fact checking, because it is deemed as a trustworthy news source and therefore factual. Start holding news agencies accountable and fine them heavily for making untrue claims that can cause problems.
It’s not so much the internet and AI as it is social media. Twitter is a major threat, TikTok leaves kids with the attention span of a toddler. And there’s no signs of improvement.
You completely missed the point. Way to take a 9 minute video and only hear 10 seconds. Those things are far from the problem. If that was true, then every country in the world would have a school shooting pandemic, but this is only a US problem. Sure, social media will amplify the speed of an individual getting to this point, but it is never the root problem. The lack of purpose is what the whole video was about. Stop trying to spread hate to technology. You sound dumb and out of touch with reality.
You nailed it bro... above and beyond everything, we need a purpose in life... even the meanest toughest dog breeds can be calm and gentle when they have purpose in their lives.
You hit on some really good points man. I think the biggest thing is the disconnect from humanity. It's like back in the day when our oldies used to tell us to go outside and play. It was so we would go be more human, learn to connect with people, form relationships, care more. I could ramble on about this for hours. But i'm hoping with the creation of things like deep fakes and ChatGPT that society realises it's time to go back outside and play, and reconnect with what's real. Cause this A.I. shit is coming like a storm, and it's gunna bring the endgame of disconnection from our fellow man.

@@dillonmoll1055 Theo has folk wisdom, but when it comes to fallibility he is just as likely as your Joe Rogans or your Hasan Pikers to give some unhinged take. For some reason, loads of people can't understand that corruption is a _consequence_ of how our system is set up, not some people "cheating a fair system". It's like if you tell people they live in a meritocracy, they will just believe that without looking at the world around them first. Any world where Hunter Biden and Donald Trump are household names _should say everything you need to know_ about the state of our 'meritocracy'. The fact that that statement _IS CONTROVERSIAL_ tells you even moreso. Objectivity can only be achieved through reliance on data, and most people just _do not_ have the patience to sit through that shit after a long day working. I don't even blame them either. What's worse, people want easy answers to tough questions rather than just accepting they don't know about something; so the impulse to just "vibe" with some commentator instead of looking shit up for yourself is a pretty strong one. Don't get me wrong, I like Theo's "vibes", he's a good guy at heart.
@@dillonmoll1055 Besides, his take on the causes of school shootings is pretty bad considering there's lots of data points that disagree with it. First, your school shooter types don't tend to be "atheists". (though a few people have lashed out at their birth religion vilolently, less than 1% of shooters though). The most common school shooter is someone between 17-24 years old, overwhelmingly male, overwhelmingly social outcasts, and overwhelmingly Christian. This isn't because Christianity causes shootings, it's just that since most people in America are Christian, it stands to reason that most people of any given demographic, even shooters, will be disproportionately Christian. If you're wondering why I even brought that up, Theo strongly suggests that shootings are motivated by lack of job and lack of religion causing a lack of purpose. This just _does not track_ with the statistics on mass violence, it's just a guess... and it's an incorrect one.
on top of that, people can be classified as "Christian" but not practice Christianity. I know many people who say they are Christian but haven't been to church since they were kids. I'm willing to bet none of these shooters that were classified as "Christian" were strong believers that went to church week to week, because if they did it would give them a stronger sense of purpose (which is Theo's argument).
Don't forget social media has made life way worse for a lot of kids. You could be bullied at school but at least school is over at 3 and you get a break at home but social media is 24/7.

People watch news of these shootings happen on the news and say “What a terrible person would do something like that?” I usually think “This kid probably had an axe to grind and this has been a LONG time coming.” I think the reason a lot of these shootings happen is there are kids in school that aren’t treated with humanity anywhere, and they turn into a ticking b*mb. With the possibility of mental illness included, home life and how they’re treated by their peers causes this. There are almost always red flags that people turn a blind eye to.
@@joem13yearsago73 Kids aren't mean, it's simply bad parenting, Kids who bullis usually suffer either some type of neglect or abuse at home, then singles out other Kids at School. To me it is the result of a declining Civilization.
Bullying will never stop happening..if a kid is being bullied his family needs to teach that kid how to stand up for him or her self..you show people how to treat you by the way you act if you walk around like a scared little pussy then you gonna be looked at and trated like a pussy and pushed around like a pussy... Its the human pecking order and its ingrained deep in our DNA
In the UK it’s rare we have mass shootings but the last big one we had, they tightened the gun restrictions and not the obvious mental health factor. The gun man had a TH-cam channel and I hate to say but I saw some of vids and I understood his frustrations, obviously not all his frustrations were completely sane but it was scary to hear his ‘life’s constantly been an up hill battle” for him coz I’ve felt the same, I would never go to his extreme but who knows, there’s still a lot more time for my mental health to deteriorate over something that’s beyond my control besides my mental resilience of dealing with the situation. Even then the situation might be very extreme. As for this gunman, he spent nearly two years trying to get help and they didn’t, the mental system that I’ve been apart of just hire anyone off the street, some of these “therapists” who tell me what they do come in the bar I work and tbh they need therapy themselves, some even break the confidentiality rule by telling people about someone they mutually know. I also work in a hospital testing electrics and heard the mental health department talking shit on their colleague who left the room. Honestly society is messed up and it’s good job I’ve become a realist and know my worth. I ain’t sinking down to their level by doing the very behaviours that make up this shit society. No surprise any of shit happens and people live in ignorance to a realistic POV.

Nah man. I just had the worst year of my life in 2022 and I have literally no purpose and no connection to anything but I’m neither suicidal nor homicidal. It’s just mentally ill people doing this shit.
I think what makes a lot of these people go crazy is the alienation from society. Often they don’t have any friends, don’t participate in any social activity, the only emotion they would get from society is a negative one. So we should try and teach our kids not to put these “glass walls” and really learn and teach how to behave in society.
@@danyo6317 it's hyperbole. I'm trying to say it's shockingly easy to purchase a gun in your country compared to almost anywhere else. In fact, 85% of guns involved in gun crimes in Ontario, Canada actually come from the US.
You are so right about all that, it’s the alienation that leads to these things. However I do think in order to prevent these kids from being so isolated we need to also teach society to be more accepting of others. Most of these kids have no choice and become isolated because they are pushed away and often abused by the people in their lives. I hope everyone on both sides learn to love better and heal from this damaged society

I love seeing Theo joking around, being silly and saying "stupid" shit. But I feel like there needs to be more content like this. He seems to be very smart and reflected and I believe that many people would benefit from him sharing thoughts like these.
His talk here is months or years of condensed thoughts. He may have a lot of these to share, but perspectives like this take sooo much of someone's energy. There are a couple of moments here that you can really see the drain on him. I agree with you, but I just wanted to share how special I think his outlook is here.
Very good points Theo! Especially the part about how Love gives you purpose... Hate can give you purpose as well, which is why you end up seeing these atrocities!

I think a big thing is also how society has really lost a sense of "community" in a lot of ways. Over-politicizing every single issue has completely destroyed peoples ability to trust their neighbor. Any combat veteran will tell you, it is far more difficult to kill someone you view and understand as a fellow human, rather than just "that guy."
One of the realist, most unbiased, NOT politically motivated opinions I’ve heard on this topic by far. I absolute love the level headedness you brought to this question and you’re on to something here
As someone who worked for big multinational companies for five years after graduating I can attest to what Theo says about not having a job or work with purpose and how debilitating that can be. Most modern companies are essentially byzantine pyramid schemes that have lots of money but nothing else. Becoming self-employed or learning a trade or craft seems to be the way to go

I think it is man's aggression when we lost all hope, we believe that things will never get better, and suffer day in and day out with no end in sight. This leads to a building anger if we can't see a better day in the future. A lot get angry and suicidal but when the aggression is outwards and the person blames society and the structure that failed you and wants to maximise destruction of the society that did or is doing this to you. Faith and hope for a better future is VERY important and we must believe it on a personal level. Taking the guns away will just bring home made bombs back.

I will say when I was a teenager in the 1980s, I was taught the responsibility not to shame my family. I had a mother and a father and I knew I would shame my family if I did drugs or stole, or got a girl pregnant out of wedlock, etc... It wasn't even about the damage it would do to my life. That wasn't it. It was knowing the shame and dishonor those things would bring. I think those things still exist today, but we have almost twice the population and certainly more people who don't have that sense of accountability.
While that may have worked in the past if someone feels wronged by their family they will actively go out of their usual behaviour to hurt their family name. These are crutches we rely on to police behaviour. Our family image is a crutch. Ideally upbringing by both family and society should be such that you do things of your own volition. You are good because it's the right thing to do. But we are too far away from that.

Same with younger people - they need purpose and to know that they are seen and heard. Don't know how to solve this, but love these channels that are at least discussing without anger.
I was severely bullied in middle school and I can empathize. I get it to an extent. But taking the innocent lives of people is where I draw the line. The problem lies with people feeling unheard or unprotected by those that are supposed to hear and supposed to protect. At 11 years old I had no one to turn to so I felt this overwhelming sense that I had to take matters into my own hands and protect myself since no one else was willing to do it. That's the day I became a man. Now, all that being said, It's never ok to hurt innocent people and those that do need to be buried under the jail or dealt with accordingly. That's my 2 cents. Not that you asked for it. I love you all. Gang Gang. RIP Billy Conforto.
@TiMMY 2PHONE5 My situation was desperate. I say that because my parents went to school countless times to talk to teachers to see how the issue could be remedied and none of the teachers did squat. It was a pretty bad school and teachers were scared of the students. That only made things worse for me bc then I was picked on even more. Security guards never did anything, the principal failed me, and so did the superintendent. Everyone failed me. I blame my parents more so because of their ignorance and thinking this was some 1950s Leave It To Beaver kind of school where they thought teachers and staff would handle the problem. This was in around 2000 or 2001 btw. They should have known better. Or my father could have taught me how to fight but my dad's a bit of a square. He wasn't raised the way I was so he saw things just completely differently. I wish he would have taught me how to fight or be tough but I had to learn that on my own. 7th grade was like a Mortal Kombat tournament. I'd fight somebody and then they'd get mad that I (of all people) beat them and they'd sick their boys on me and the next match would be with somebody bigger and tougher. Until finally I reached Goro and.... Let's just say I got expelled and my parents threatened to sue the board of ed and school after the school wanted to press charges. All the times they went to school was on record so they kinda just buried the incident and swept it under the rug because they knew they messed up. I won't get into any more details but that's what happened. After that day I never let anyone get anything over on me ever again and now I always feel in my heart to defend people that can't defend themselves. Someone has to stand up and sometimes that's me.
I was picked on a lot in school. thanks to my dad i knew how to fight. nobody tried to bully me more than once. I also tride to stick up for kids that couldnt stick up for them selves. never thought about shooting up a school but had a gun in my mouth multiple times. teach you kids to be cool and look out for kids that need help.
As someone that was also bullied and even have a viral video about it from me speaking at a school board im right there with you. My parents also tried to stop it and it just made it worse the teachers and coaches did nothing. I was made out to be the bad kid when i was only trying to protect my self. Now i was lucky my whole problem was having the last name Gay. Once that was changed for school only my whole life changed. But i think these kids shooting up schools are not being protected and even being punished as part of the problem. This leads them to desperation and thus school shootings. With the exception of the last school shooting or maybe the one in Uvalde those kids were bullied. When i spoke at that school board meeting the Santa Fe school shooting here in Texas had happened shortly before that. I felt it was time to speak up and try and prevent that from a happening in a school district i so loved. And guess what i was made out to be the bad guy again the city still hates me i had death threats had people driving by my house hoping to catch me and cause harm. It;s sad our country has come to this but if we do not get a handle on how these kids that are being bullied are treated at schools its going to continue to happen.
@@BarrettGreg Exactly. I know people say violence isn't the answer but when you're a child and have turned to everyone you can turn to, the situation becomes desperate and dire. Especially if the bullying is physical and really bad. At that point in your mind the only thing you're thinking about is survival and you want it to stop and sometimes, unfortunately, in that state of mind, you retaliate physically and desire to end things by any means necessary. And for those who feel they can't fight back might feel they need to go for weapons. Especially if the perpetrator is a child. You're thinking about it from a child's point of view. Which is usually very simplistic and black and white. Children don't really see grey areas. And you can imagine years of torment only breeds hatred and resentment. I know what that's like, to want to hurt your enemies, to put them down once and for all so that they don't keep coming back at you. It's a very animalistic kind of view but at the same time survival is just instinctual and second nature. I also believe the key to fixing the issue is taking preventative measures. Now, like I said, I don't condone it, but as a child who was once tormented, I can totally understand it. One of my bullies literally pushed me into the middle of a busy street from behind. That was my last straw. I was ready to make him remember me forever. Thank God almighty it never came to that.
The kid who shot up my town over in Illinois lived with his uncle who had no clue he was wracking up tons of streams as a rapper. His dad worked 12 hour days and was in debt trying to buy a big fancy house he could never afford while running for mayor. His mother left the family in a divorce. Where was the love for this kid? No one had time for him. No one noticed him. He just floated, disconnected from it all. Thanks Theo. We want an easy answer and an easy fix.

I agree.. some of them
@@Danuxsy No one is born with impulsive thoughts to shoot people, that is a thought that arises from unhealed wounds, aka childhood trauma and/or bullying.
Be polite. It's free. ✌️
Another common factor in all shootings are guns...

We don’t have a monopoly on desperate citizens, but we certainly lead the stats in mass shootings

Drop Social Media. It was NEVER needed to live back then and it sure as hell isn't NEEDED to live NOW.

Yup social media is about the most unsocial thing there is. Got people thinking they have friends when they really have no friends.

Some of us know what hard living is. If you really love your children, this shouldn't be hard at all.
Theo has really good points. Social media/Internet/AI is destroying us. Weve lost our way as a society the further we go down this rabbit hole
Dude why you gotta bring AI into this?

It was so we would go be more human, learn to connect with people, form relationships, care more. I could ramble on about this for hours. But i'm hoping with the creation of things like deep fakes and ChatGPT that society realises it's time to go back outside and play, and reconnect with what's real. You're puddinged out boyyyy, Theo has always been dropping knowledge ✌.

I’m studying a psychology degree and I feel like you are really onto something, very well thought out response and answer, kudos!
Thank you for starting out with open humility. More people need to do this. There is no one-size answer.
As a 36yo man, I still remember very clearly being bullied and made fun of through most of my school years. A little kid shouldn’t be crying every day from fear and anxiety on the way to school. Thank God my home life wasn’t terrible. I still remember multiple times at different schools having classmates joke around and say “Haha, hey whenever you raid the school, just make sure to point away from me haha”. That kind of thing really sucked to hear because personally, I have never wanted to hurt anyone. I just wanted to be treated with humanity and respect.
People watch news of these shootings happen on the news and say “What a terrible person would do something like that?” I usually think “This kid probably had an axe to grind and this has been a LONG time coming.”
I think the reason a lot of these shootings happen is there are kids in school that aren’t treated with humanity anywhere, and they turn into a ticking b*mb. With the possibility of mental illness included, home life and how they’re treated by their peers causes this. There are almost always red flags that people turn a blind eye to.
Kids are mean :/ glad you're doing better now

Often they don’t have any friends, don’t participate in any social activity, the only emotion they would get from society is a negative one. So we should try and teach our kids not to put these “glass walls” and really learn and teach how to behave in society.
Once they buy a gun at 711. Important step in gun crimes
Where is this 7-11 that sells guns?
Honestly dude I have friends I keep in touch with but as a adult it's hard to keep constantly trying to hang out with them and taking care of bills an juggling Life. Not to mention people today are so divided by everything people literally go bat shit crazy over the smallest things now I have a uncle that flipped out on me because all he watches is fox news he's brainwashed completely and it's not just shootings it's stabbings aswell a guy recently got stabbed just by asking a guy to stop smoking by his kid. I just keep to myself because the world has gone mad.
I love how genuine and from the heart Theo is trying to work through this issue with us. Its enlightening and truth seeking and not political.
Without writing you a novel on the many reasons I felt I had to say this…… I appreciate you. So many people wether be a celebrity or not brush off the many things that truly needs attention and help. Your a good man brotha to use your tools to talk about the things you do. God bless you in all you do. Thank you, David
If you read the manifestos of mass murderers, its a cry for help gone unheard. To them an atrocious act was the only way to get others to listen.
Crazy part is your the only one on TH-cam bringing it up in this light 💡 keep on keeping on brotha! ❤
there are a lot of YTers talking on this. you need a better algo.
man this is exactly why i love theo. he’s incredibly intelligent and has really good eyes and he’s not dumb, he’s not a ditz, but you may think that way from seeing his standup. he’s so out there, and authentically himself, yet still cares and wants to contribute to being a decent human being. love you man~
edit: my wording can be bad. i think he’s been through a lot in life and just sees the world differently and with a good lens. he can see what most might miss~
I agree. I love you too. 👻 sewell_2001
Don't judge intelligence by words or speech. Some people are just different
are you the island in the Mediterranean sea? didn't know an island could watch youtube but ofc they watch the man theo von!
he’s incredibly intelligent and has really good eyes and he’s not dumb. Yep
hello ibitha
Yes Sir. All them lost ones need to hear this. Theo’s on point.
Becoming self-employed or learning a trade or craft seems to be the way to go
Love you Theo, this is one of the best clips you’ve ever put out bro. I think the majority of people feel this way, the world needs more love. We’re all in this together, we’re all human beings. ✌️❤️
"I could be wrong at that's ok"
*proceeds to give one of the most wise and genuine talks I've ever heard on the internet*
100% Teodoro. Loving your neighbor, being united and sense of belonging. Thanks for your comedy and what you do to make us laugh. ✌
Theo always knows how to put what we've all been thinking into words 👏
So much love & compassion. Real dude.
I agree hundred percent. we're getting gassed by the searches we make. People who are depressed and lonely get into a bad rabbit hole in the internet and end up reaffirming their beliefs through toxic communities. When you gaze into that abyss, it gazes back, and it tells you what you are made of.
Bullying, huge sadness, and local social media exasperating that.
I've said it before, Theo has an amazing mind on him. Whether it's acting clueless, whether it's quick wit, or whether it's acting lost whilst all the while he's really thinking three jokes ahead of the competition, he really does have a super intelligent mind. Love you Theo bro! ; )
Theo is a very smart person, he thinks very deeply and his ideas are his own ideas. Much respect I’d love to get to meet him one day and just talk to him for a bit fr
Theo is a great inspiration for younger/older adults! He’s spot on! Love you so much Theo
I LOVE how open and honest you are Theo. NEVER lose that sense of self, it’s the exact reason why I f%ck with you. You’re 100% a spot on with this take. Keep up the “real” content man because I love it. Keith
Especially with children and young adults. There is sooooo much pressure on you as a kid now. Whether it be parents or Instagram people telling you you have to be a millionaire by 30 or this that and the other. It makes us feel like failures when we haven't even lived yet. I always thank God or whoever for giving me the forethought to realize that there is more to like than money and shit, and you can help others in so many ways.
I'm so stressed I'm 16 and gonna be on my own by the time I'm 18 cuz my grandma was when she in the 80s but she got married right after but now working by herself minimum wage she stopped working bc of her and things so much more stressful and it's gonna get so much harder and I've been kind of not seeking professional mental health bc I'm scared and I need someone to pray for me so I can get stronger and better and cooler and all that shitz man I'm blinded by stress I'm not even thinking about uni or college like I thought I would when I was younger I just want to be happy and find purpose and be more courageous
It's tech you don't know exists hidden within tech you do know exists. First person Shooter games don't help either. For every person that succumbs to the tech, there are many people complaining about tinnitis and v2k.
I was an outcast in my early school experience, BUT I knew never to murder people. If you are a mere slave to stress and depression that it makes you go and murder people, 1) your parents failed, that's 101 from the jump, and 2) you need to get professional help before ending another kid's life, because that kid has people who love them, and you're being f^&*ing SELFISH. End of story. Hard times do NOT mean go and murder people!
@@chrisbova9686 I don't think we are going to agree on this one. Most programming is not meant to be noticed if it is working properly. Just functions of if this then yea or no if else yes or no / on or off 1 or 0. I think it is human nature not nurtured to. It looks like people in a place of spiritual bankruptcy of despair with no hope or sight of a way out.
Damn you've got a big heart Theo. True, raw, honest compassion to see the struggling, vulnerable individuals beyond the pain and dissolution.
“Whatever vice you choose, it chooses you back” - that was deep Theo
Theo can be silly, but he really is a introspective, intelligent man. I love this guy man.
Just want to say thank you to everyone that sees this for all the things you do. You matter, we have just been trained to feel like what we do isn't enough.
I’m not sure what I was expecting but glad I watched this. Very well said. Without purpose a lot of people are lost without a path forward
If only they got lost in Deepnest first, then they wouldn’t have time to worry about a stupid purpose. The only purpose is to escape this hell hole known as Deepnest! You the man, Mr. Mustache!
Only Theo Von can make pudding and school shooting be a serious conversation that STILL gets the point across and doesnt lose anything.

Theo hit it right on. This dudes real smart. I just started listening to this dude and I like that he jokes around most of the time but has a good sense of reality
These kids feel soooo hopeless man. It’s so sad, I have faith in my boys but damn I see how some of their classmates are being raised and it’s scary, I just tell my son be nice to everyone
Dont tell them that. Make sure they know the differrence between nice and weak atleast
Thanks the leadership the past two years
You know they had shitty parents in the 1965 too, right? It's super easy to generalize all this shit and say it's that there is 1. no sense of purpose 2. or algorithms breed extreme ideology 3. no sense of community 4. Not partriotic enough. We can make up excuse after excuse, but largely, we are more well off, our needs are more met, poverty at an all time low, yet....yet! Those with a platform, like Theo, take the easy way out and ramble on about excuse after excuse when we all know what it is: EASY ACCESS TO AN AR-15

You nailed it Theo, very insightful and thoughtful observation. You are such a kind soul, I wish you always the best.
True 😮
He's right. Purpose. Hope is another one. These are the things that keep you motivated and positive.
We need more love and joy and care for each other. We’re all on the same rock. I know it’s preaching to the choir but hope more of this mindset and what Theo is talking about spreads to those who may need to hear it.
This is the first time I've heard Theo actually being serious. You're way more intelligent than your comedy would suggest. Good stuff!
I disagree. Theos comedy is a great example of his intelligence as he’s able to break down his personal experiences, relate them to others, and make it funny. It’s emotional intelligence as well as intellectual.
Theo is my favorite comedian, but he says such heart warming and thought provoking words sometimes. I really appreciate it, especially since every time I hear him speak about topics like these, he really tries come from a place of understanding. We could learn and benefit a lot if we focused on compassion and understanding. Loved this clip.
PURPOSE!!! As someone who is retired - I agree 100 % - I have to schedule volunteer activities so there is a purpose to actually get out of bed (and also you help your community).
The REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED - etika
I have more and more respect for you as time goes by Theo , keep doing you yea, much love brother.
This may be the most insightful Theo video ever. The guy is super intelligent, and thoughtful. I absolutely agree with everything he says. Bro - the lack of purpose, couldn’t be more spot on.
