You doing the skeleton contour is literally the conversation I have with myself whenever I try something new with makeup 😂😂 dying of laughter, so relatable. You’re the best ❤️
The contour ended up looking good. The first few times I did contour it seemed way too dramatic and I didn't think it was anything I would get into. Personally, I have found that I prefer a small brush because it allows more control over placement. And I go in with a light hand then build up and blend out. Then it looks much more natural and wearable.
For the skeleton use a larger fluffy blending brush in soft circles like you are blending out paint. If you go too far use a translucent setting powder to highlight where it's too dark. The concept of shadows and light is where the light source hits is right beside where the shadows are the darkest.
The skeleton contour is basically - watch me do these crazy lines all over my face to shock and awe you then a quick flash and my makeup is perfectly blended.... aka what you didn't see is me wipe all these crazy lines off and cancel the need for the lines...... Yeah that's basically it.
The freckles work well if you scrape powder from the pan with a spoolie, mix it with saline until its a good consistency, and drag your fingers down the spoolie to "spray" them into your face LOL it's kind of messy but the result is gorgeous
Aww!!! Congratulations!!!! I do agree that Rachel is soooo relaxing to watch! I usually turn on her home channel and listen to her cooking videos while I cook supper!
Praying for a quick and uneventful delivery and a healthy and happy baby. Praying you all stay safe during the pandemic and everyone who could be around you is vaccinated.
Best lash hack EVER. Apply your mascara and use a blow drier (cold setting) pointed vertically upwards under your lashe. Instead of an eyelash curler. Works perfectly
It tickles my freckled face to see so many products for those without freckles! I have always been pretty happy with my freckles, but I didn't really see many people with freckles on TV or stuff. I never cared. Mine were mine and I love them! But seeing people put on fake ones because they wish they had freckles just makes me smile a little bit.
Thank you so much for being willing to try some of these ridiculous tricks... I laughed so hard a couple of times, I almost choked on my coffee. Your reactions are priceless. Sending you love and smiles. 💕😊
I love how chill her videos are. I know the high energy some creators give off is appealing to a lot of people, but it's nice when it feels like you're just relaxing with a friend talking makeup and experimenting.
@@rameen3326 She doesn't need one, nor does she need to have an aesthetic. She's a grown woman who knows her style and sticks to it, which I appreciate. I enjoy that her videos feel like classic TH-cam, it's more personal, and easy to watch sitting down with a hot drink after a long day. I thought your first comment was saying this is a good thing.
as someone who has shaved brows the powder thing works but i draw them on and carve them out (not needed i just like it) and put the powder on with a DRY sponge a generous amount and then i let it sit a bit and brush it off. after that i use a brow gel like the mascara wand ones (my brow shade) and brush through them. they stay on when swimming and snorkeling too!!
I wonder if you could set the brows with powder the way I’ve seen some people do with lipstick. Almost like, finishing your brows, taking a very thin part of a tissue, and putting powder over the top. 🤔
I tend to get a but oily through the day so I've always did my brows then dip my beauty blender into some setting powder and pat over my brows then take my spoolie and lightly run through them just to make sure there's no white powdery look in them. I do my brow pencil then the abh colored brow gel then once it gets do the setting powder and my brows last all day till I remove my makeup at night. Even through sweating at work lol just make sure it's a light layer of powder. Loved this video so much Rach💜
Girl yes! Im not a big fan of Halloween but I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Fall! Give me all the cozy, sweaters, pants, booties, tea, warm desserts like apple pie, all of it!!
Hi Rachel and family. I'm no make-up expert but from what I've seen of the skeleton contour tutorials it needs much to be much thicker so it smudges or blends better and has more moisture and they seem to use the egg shaped beauty blender. Hope this helps
Rachel, your videos always put a smile on my face! I always look forward to watching them. Thanks for making me laugh a ton tonight with these “hacks”. 😂
So for the contour try finding a cooler shade. Bronzer should be warm but contour should be cool. If you don't have anything try adding a little gray (cream or powder depending on what you're using) 🙏
I’ve actually been powdering my brows and lashes for years! I just do a bit on a fluffy eyeshadow brush before applying any product to absorb any oil or moisturizer on the hairs. Maybe it’s just me, but a hint of oil/moisturizer can make mascara/brow gel go on weird and smudge more quickly
@@melissacoulter708 Not for me but everyone’s different! I just use a small amount, I’m not baking my lashes or anything lol. My eyelids are very oily and hooded so my lashes are always in contact w oily skin. Plus I use a thick moisturizer. I just need to dry that up so the oils don’t break down my makeup prematurely :)
You confirmed my thoughts of the skull makeup trend. I've seen it around BUT have not tried it because I felt it'd either look like lines OR just be wiped back off to make it blend. 😩🤣
I think it's crazy how the internet is promoting it as a hack. That's how crossdressers typically contour to look more masculine. I wish they really showed how it's used because some of us really like it when used correctly!
fun fact: as a non-binary person i've been using the "skeleton hack" for quite a while because it makes my face more masculine 😂 saw it in a video yeeeaars ago
I think if maybe you tried a more gray tone for contour then it could possibly work? I think the point to the hack is to create a sharper shadow so a different tone might work?
So I'm not a make-up kind of gal (I currently only own 4 makeup products -1 foundation, 1 powder, 1 eyeliner and 1 mascara) But I love watching your makeup videos! Kind of glad I don't know what most of this stuff does! LOL!
I like cute Halloween things. I love the kids that come past my house for trick or treat and giving them candy. We haven't been able to do that and I don't know if we will this year but it's my favorite thing about living in this city neighborhood. Even the kids that can't afford costumes, when else can you hand out candy to kids without being creep? I don't have my own children at 45, never wanted any, but this is the best way to see the upcoming generations without dealing with babysitting or tantrums. They're just happy getting candy. Plus I pick out some of my favorite candy for myself. I used to trick or treat and it was so much fun. It's nice to make kids happy.
If you look back at its origins it was not so much about death it was about the triumph of life over death. Interestingly enough it was the Catholic Church that made it seem scarier than it was. It was also the Church that called it the Devil's birthday when it never was. 🤷♀️ I for one love Samhain 🦇
the skull contour is supposed to be done with a contour shade (cool/grey) not bronzer (warm). It's not going to work in the intended way if you don't use the correct shades. also for the blending, you need to maintain the shape by just blending over it back and forth not pulling the product up or down
This has been one of your best, most entertaining videos. I have seen these hacks but watching you recreate them had me laughing so hard. I loved it. ❤❤🤣🤣🤣🤣
When I was training to be a beauty therapist we used to comb the eyebrows up like you did..but then took a sharp nail scissor to them to SHAPE the eyebrows :) Also re the winged eyeliner..Ive seen another hack where they use the triangle make up sponge OR a rubber(eraser) to make the stamp :)
I trim my eyebrows after brushing them up with an eyebrow gel. Those weird spiky eyebrows belong on old men who don't have spouses to help them not look like eyebrow pubes.
I’ve only started to do very gentle contour on my cheeks because my face is very square. This whole skeleton thing would drive me to drink. Once you’d fought that much with contour and then your brows, my next step would have been makeup remover balm and start over doing what I know works on my face.
When I was a kid, my mom got these Easter Egg coloring kits that included q-tips loaded with dye just like those lip tints! You had to snap them to get the liquid to come out and everything, but they were specifically for decorating Easter Eggs!
For the contour I know that you spray it, but I don’t know that I would want to use setting spray. Like would a rose water spray work? I’m not sure if it’s worth it…
I love these kind of videos thank you for testing and helping us to see if these hacks really work. I don’t understand the whole freckle thing that’s just me like if everybody knows you don’t have freckles and then you come around one day and you have freckles isn’t that alittle weird just asking?

I have mostly definitely adopted your saying of "blush makes everything better." I'm obsessed 😍 what's your favorite blush right now???

"Our aggressive wing moments"... By brain took that and just went with it. Imagining winged liners just dueling everywhere and anywhere.
I always feel like contouring and bronzing is like putting dirt on my face. I like blush, though.
Rach doing the skeleton contour is me on ANY make up :/
Tiktok seems to be making “hacks” that make everything waaaaay harder tbh
Loved this, especially the skeleton contour I knew it was BS! Lol. I do want to try that Qtip lip stain. 💄

I think the Q-tip lip stain product was a Sephora item about a decade ago!

Doesn’t powder make your lashes clumpy and make pieces flake off throughout the day?

so do you have a video for Rachel that shows the blending
This was super entertaining. I really needed this today 😄 thank you! ❤

What mascara did you put on?? Your lashes look amazing!

"Who said to do this? It was me!" I lost it, hysterical!
I don’t do contour or bronzer either! It wasn’t a thing in the mid-90’s when I started wearing makeup as a teen!
I'm sure this has been asked and answered before but I can't find it... What earrings does she wear? I love the look 😍
I think it was just the wrong color for contouring. Contour is about creating a shadow unlike bronzing. Need a much cooler color for the contouring
