When I was married to my ex, I was blonde. I dyed my hair dark mahogany red-brown and he NEVER noticed. Three days in, I asked if he hadn't maybe noticed anything different and he had no clue. 🤦♀️

The Catrice foundation is phenomenal. I wore it for 15 hours and it was perfect, no creasing, no sliding, zero pores. It looked like model skin. I have oily skin as well but it didn’t look greasy. It beats every single high end I have tried. So in love!!

Might be the elf setting spray that made the difference in the complexion. When I use the catrice truskin, it usually lasts me the whole day.

The Catrice TruSkin is in my top 3 all time favorite foundations, easy. They really did that.
I would love to see a blind test. Like have one of your sisters do your make up high end vs dupe & get your initial & end of day opinion before you know which is which.
Drugstore mascaras never ever ever perform their best freshly opened … it always gets better as you keep using it. Expensive mascaras always perform their best when they are new :)

The key to the essence lash primer is not letting it dry completely, and letting it just get tacky. I have been using it for a long time and it surpasses any high end I have used.

I agree the Essence is great. I actually curl my eyelashes after I put the Essence on and they never fall.
I feel like this primer helps hold my curl too . I always have one eye that goes flat and I hate it lol
@@savannahkillinger5406 you may have tried this but heat an eyelash curler with your blow dryer for 10-15 secs (make sure its not too hot on the back of your hand) and curl your lashes, following immediately w/ primer & mascara. I only have to do it about once a year now my lashes stay up (I used to have lashes curl down into my eye)
Interesting, I think there is a very obvious difference between the lipsticks. The Maybellin looks a lot richer and darker and more like a true red, the Dior looks more orangey and like you plotted your lips💄💋

I personally prefer the drugstore side. High end lipstick is more orange round the edges but barely. Just can’t Unsee it now 😂
I have yet to find a high end lipstick I enjoy. I mostly use Elf and Essence. They’re like buttah.
Love how the essence lashes looked way more. Not as spidery. But I agree, the urban decay foundation is gorgeous on you!
I’ve been using the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define foundation as a dupe for Tarte’s Face Tape ($12 vs $39). I’d love to see an official comparison to see if they’re actually fairly equivalent or if I’m just settling for the savings.
I just tried that foundation and I’m loving it so far!! I haven’t tried the Face Tape foundation but I don’t think you’re settling. :)

Lash primer tip! Do one eye at at a time so it doesn’t dry down too much! And for the essence I wipe some product off the wand and then wiggle through my lashes… I prefer the essence so much over the Lancôme tbh
In re: the lipsticks - because they're right next to each other, I would either assume that the Dior side previously looked like the Maybelline side and is fading (like, it looks a little sheer-er because of the orangey undertone instead of the bluer Maybelline one) or think that you were wearing two different lipsticks split down the middle (if I noticed that the two halves of your face had other distinct differences). I think the Maybelline is a great dupe for the Dior - maybe blot it a little if you want an even closer look? (TBH I prefer the Maybelline color).
Also, when you do a half-and-half video like this, I always wonder which bit of the makeup is actually the problem - in the drugstore problem areas, you had foundation and blush and highlight and setting spray. Was it the foundation? Was it the setting spray? Was it the blush and the setting spray combo? I kinda wanna see someone do a week of only changing one variable - same makeup but different setting spray one day; same everything but the blush; same everything but the foundation. It would be more time consuming though :/
The Urban Decay foundation is my go to. I have oily skin and I love that it can hold up during my whole work day and by the end I have a subtle dewy shine. If I need to I can touch it up with translucent powder and it's good to go again.
I love watching you with my daughter. You are always such a wholesome channel to watch, and just a wonderful person in general.
I have used both of the mascara primers and the essence one is much thicker and I find I need FAR less than the Lancome to get the same effect. If you want to try it again just use a lot less, like one small stroke.
Try the elf green setting spay. Love the nozzle and the lasting affect. And they say it’s a dupe for urban decays all nighter
Agree the high end looks best at the end of the day! However, the low end blush and highlight are so much more beautiful on you and seemed to hold up better!
I wonder what went wrong with the Catrice side. It always lasts all day with me, so much so that it’s quickly become one of my favourite foundations.

I usually don’t let the lash primer dry, I feel it’s better to do when it’s still wet and you get a better outcome!

I loooove the essence primer but I found out it works best when you add mascara as it’s wet for this one!

I LOVE the Dior side of the lips! Idk why but it just looks so smooth! Maybe I’m just a Dior fan, which I totally am, and maybe that makes me a little biased. You look beautiful on both sides, as always!
Tati did a video a few weeks ago and said the Catrice Foundation is her favorite. I bought it, and although the color is a bit off for me, it is nice.
I would definitely say the high end lipstick looked a lot better I think you could probably tell a bigger difference on camera than in person. But the maybelline lipstick was more of a shiny true red and the dior lipstick was more of a blotted red color and not at all shiny.

i can appreciate that we can see your real skin that the lighting doesn't make you skin perfect and that you don't use filters.... with other TH-camrs you just can not tell how it really looks

I have lashes just like yours that fall really easily and the Essence primer didn’t work for me either. But I didn’t want to keep splurging for the Lancome one, so I tried Milani’s the violet one lash primer and it works fantastic!

the high end foundation looked really good! Have you ever tested Annabelle products? I'm particularly interested in the VIP lipstick in the shade Gambler. My holy grail is there lipliner in Spice. It's the perfect neutral for my cool skin tone.
Hey Rachel, could you show or explain how you recurl your lashes? Maybe that’s a stupid question, but whenever I try to recurl them I end up with a bald strip at the root, all the mascara sticks to the lashcurler. So it’s basically reverse eyeliner😅 and who what’s that???

Your lash curler has to be completely clean and your mascara has to be super dry, otherwise the residue on the curler sticks to the mascara on your lashes and creates the bald strip & pain lol
I never recurl my lashes, even if i do it hours later when it’s fully dry, all it does is just clump my lashes together and make them look awful?

It's insane how much the two lipsticks look alike ! Both beautiful colors though. The high-end side is definitely the winner. & girl.. I feel your pain about straight hair problems🤦 my curls never last all day either. I'm lucky if the curls last 2-3 hours😂😂🤦

I think the high end foundation was the best. The drugstore blush, to me, was not a dupe of the Dior, but I liked both blushes. I did not like the high end highlighter at all, it looked like a swipe of concealer. There was a very slight color difference in the lipstick but not enough to be very noticeable. Overall, end of day, the high end side looked better. Great video!
I love the essence lash primer I noticed it drops my lashes a lot too so I curl them after I applied the primer and it has dried then apply my mascara and it works well
The Urban Decay foundation is my all time Holy Grail foundation!! It definitely last and stays put. I absolutely love it! It doesn't get the love it deserves.
First, your makeup look was just so perfect and beautiful. I really loved the high-end side more. The only thing I'm wondering is if the elf setting spray affected the makeup on the dupe side. The blush on the dupe side also seemed to hold up a tiny bit better. The highlights aren't even comparable. Lol. Thanks, Rach!
I definitely prefer the drugstore side!! But I am partial to more affordable products. I like using the Elf Poreless Putty, which really takes care of my pores. My skin did not do well with the new Catrice foundation, ufortunately!😣

This video really made me want to buy more high end makeup cause that was a big difference on how it wore all day. Plus I like the high end lip stick then the drugstore. They are very similar but I can totally see which one starts and ends. I love the high end one on you as well, the drugstore one is too cherry red while the other is more orange undertone. If you liked the matte velvety finish on the bullet of the Dior lipstick, you HAVE TO try some of Lisa Eldridge's lipsticks. They're pieces of art, and really really REALLY good!!

I feel like the lipsticks are very similar, but there’s still a very mild difference between the colors, like Rachel said, the maybelline one is definitely redder than dior, because the dior one looks a bit orangey red and has softer look to it

I think the Lancome lash primer is more comparable to the Loreal one (the one in the white tube)

I would put liquid highlight on before any face powders straight after foundation. Maybe give them another go without powering the cheeks

The essence white primer is great to use colored mascara’s like blue or purple. Etc. You should do a shop for luxury makeup lines in Ross, Marshall’s, or TJ Max.

Catrice HD foundation is my favourite foundation I’ve ever used.
Yeah, it’s one of my favorites and it doesn’t budge. I have oily skin and it lasts the whole day on me.
I also say the same. I love the Catrice foundation and have not had any problems.

I personally just started using that elf setting mist. Haven’t noticed any issues and I like the scent. Also, urban decay was the first brand I used for my foundation way back in middle school and I’ve been tempted to try it out again. Maybe I’ll check out catrice but I’ve just been having the worst luck with finding something that has full enough coverage for my pores
I absolutely love that Maybelline lipstick! While the high-end looked amazing in the tube, such a pretty velvet, the Maybelline had an absolutely gorgeous color and I think it look just a slight smidge better on the lips. I also preferred the drugstore highlighter and blush, but beyond those three things I think the high-end won this round.

The Dior rosy glow blush isn’t meant to be CAPOW-pink 😋 I worked for Dior, and they meant for it to be naturally complimentary for every skintone, so it has a bit of a different color on different people 🤗☺️
A great comment. I also didn't think that Rachel should have worked so hard to fix the Dior blush - it should be judged the way it goes on and how it wears. She also put so many layers of it - I don't think it was a fair comparison.
I am obsessed with the Dior lipstick. The matt❤❤❤❤ the maybelline is touch more dark and way more shiny.

I tried the Catrice foundation. I wanted to love it, I really did. It did not go well at all. I tired it 8 times. I love Urban Decay! I have several different foundations, tints and all sorts of other makeup. Urban Decay never let's me down.
I must say that blush and lipstick from Dior look amaaazing on you... please use them more :-) I have tryed that urban decay foundation on clients and wasnt really impressed too much but it also looks perfect on you cause youre a goddess
I love my Stay Naked foundation heaps. We don't have Catrice here in Australia tho. Haven't found a dupe for the UD Stay Naked foundation.

I have to hand it to the high end side too for the lipstick. I liked how the dior one looked significantly better. The velvety look and orange undertone really showed up on camera..... my opinion

I love the essence lash primer. I specifically use it when I wear blue mascara. It’s the only one I’ve tried that really helps make them blue.

@@lizzi7128 I use to really like this one by maybelline called great lash, but I don’t think they make it anymore. I’ve tried the colourpop one and benfit one- honestly the best for me is the Sephora brand. Sephora brand blue with essence primer makes my lashes very blue.
I got the Catrice because Tati said to......PERIOD. I got the wrong shade and I swear that makes all the difference and I'm not 100% sure why but it just does. I always love a foundation better if the shade matches perfectly. I am going to go into ULTA and get the correct shade and I bet I love it.

I've been using the urban decay stay naked ever since it came out, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say I know it's going to look almost the same by end of day. I prefer high end

With the Essence primer I find if I get the excess product off (like you do with mascara) it works wonderful.
I love the Maybelline lipstick! It looks BEAUTIFUL and the Dior one looks a tinge more orange in my opinion.
Also side note: can you come help me declutter and get my house ready for my third baby? Lol I'm 34 weeks and have absolutely no motivation or energy 😅

I liked the Armani highlight. I like a more subtle highlight, so that would be my choice.
True skin side looked good too but I use that one so I knew it would.
