Great jams, Beanie Bass, great pedals, great names (What We Don't Know About The Ocean Floor!), great delivery. Never have I wished to be pals with a TH-cam creator as much as this dude. The channel is a great place for info, tunes and humor. Plus, I bet you could fix some of my busted headphones for a good rate.
"Everything We Don't Know About The Ocean Floor" is one of the most unhinged and best pedal names I have ever seen. Great sounding pedal too - nails my single biggest issue with chorus, and most modulation pedals.
Glad to see the BSRI Ocean Floor getting some more exposure. (Mine is the same finish as yours. Quite a stunner!) Probably deserves its own video. Despite it lacking a blend control, the low pass filter and dual LFOs allow it to do anything from almost-vibrato to very subtle, airy chorus. Also some mileage to be gotten from the delay time switch.
That Free The Tone is my no 1 pick, for me personally. It is so versatile & it has MIDI and presets and it is stereo, my kind of pedal.... A very good video, love it...
Thank you so much. I’ve been re listening to all of the Rush albums and Alex’s use of chorus definitely influenced me from even before I knew what chorus was.
I am a Chorus-junkie. Played in Rush cover band & huge Alex Lifeson fan. I own a F.T.T. Tri Avatar (my all-time favorite) and also a Boss DC-2W = they are both equally impressive and phenomenal pedals.
That's awesome! In the NYC area? I'm thinking of putting the Tri Avatar on my cover band board, and using the presets to adjust the number of voices on the fly. How did you set up your presets?
@@StompboxBreakdown I left #1 from the factory > #2 I made it less-intense and closer to a flange-like-chorus > #3 I duplicated my DC-2W, with help from the TPS Tri Avatar Episode > #4 I made an "over-the-top" Chorus-patch based off factory preset #1. Phenomenal unit.
I enjoyed your references to ripples in pools. A big ambient inspired pedalboard is a lyrical thing and there's a place for a deep shimmering chorus pedal there
I've spent years trying to avoid using an actual dedicated chorus pedal by faking it with other boxes. The "analog with mod" setting on the DL4 with a super short delay time, + the tweak and tweez controls fully opposite each other is my current fav faux "chorus"...
That is a great sounding delay/chorus. Have you tried the Eventide MicroPitch at all? There's a lot of flexibility on a pretty simple platform there, and it can be subtle, 80's-ish, and even pretty close to the late EVH-style eventide thing.
@@StompboxBreakdown the micropitch was on my list at one point and I feel like I need to revisit that urge... like so many of us, I'm currently maxed out on board space, but that is only sort of a reason to not buy any more effects...🤦
Oh wow, no one's ever asked about cables before! From guitar to pedals, I'm using a Fender Festival Hemp Instrument Cable. For interconnects on my desk, I use Hosa cables. Nothing fancy, but I do love a good resilient cable (especially with a cat who likes to bite things in the house)
Do you have a Clone Theory ? I mean the vintage EHX made famous by Joy Division / Peter Hook? Thats an amazing, "different" sounding chorus. Very unfiltered, so a bit noisy (s/n ratio less than ideal) but has an amazing character. I recommend you seek one out.

Awww, thank you!
We can start a pedal club and meet once a month on the ocean floor and discuss pedals.

I too never tire of choruses. Awesome video! ✌️😌🎸

love the BSRI. Would loooovvveee a revision with a dry-kill switch for vinyl-esque unpredictable vibrato
Chorus is my favorite effect ever! Please make more videos about it!
A lot of beautiful sounds in this one! Maybe I need to pick up a few more chorus pedals, too!
As a long-time fan of Alex Lifeson, I also have a chorus addiction. I've learned to live with it.
Love your videos.

I love EWDKATOF by BSRI. Important to note that it is MISO, so it widens my sounds like crazy going into my other stereo pedals and setup.

Nice, I like that selection. I might wind up doing the same.
@@StompboxBreakdown Cool brother. I'm not-a-fan of: anything too warbly, faux-leslie or Seasick. I like "Still Chorus"

Analogman Stereo Bi-Chorus 👑
Tri Avatar is cool for that particular digital 80s thing, in a pedal … 👍🏼
Good vibes, more than normal even. I might have even sensed glee. Loved seeing this selection! I’m drooling over that BSRI.
still seeing that PH-1R back there, and now the DOD 201...
again, another great video. really enjoyed the DEPTH of this one
Maybe I need to do a Phaser episode :)
@@StompboxBreakdown looking forward to one!

Dude... I was soooooo waiting for Jason to jump out of that water.
“…Then, he’s still there.”
@@CathyHolton-jh1xv Did that not look exactly like that scene? In my memory it did anyway...
The analog man chorus is a copy of the small clone with a knob added for depth at least that's what it said in his book
You can mod the small clone easily
I would like to double like this episode but TH-cam won't let me.
These all sounded great, but I love the Tri Avatar the most. Can you share what types of cables you use?

Were you to ever to get a PastFX Kurt’s Cologne, it would be nice to see a shootout between that, the Analogman, and an original EHX.
Its hard to beat a good chorus!
Especially when it's a few of the best
Makes me miss Yuck.

I don’t have one but I’ve been on the lookout
Did you try sometime to use the chorus before overdrive and distortion ? I really prefer my drive like this but with subtle chorus.
I just bought a julianna, hope i didnt mess up lol
Not at all, that’s a fun one. Very flexible.
