Meaty Mama may have been new to UberEats several months ago, but she has been doing DoorDash for quite some time. She’s just trying to figure out the new to her app…how it operates. Meaty Mama is very entertaining. I love her videos, she is hilarious and she is a hustler, a single mom trying to support her family. ♥️

It is absolutely not worth your time , gas and vehicle maintenance to drive for Uber Eats anylonger. I do Eats less than half as much as I use to in my state of Georgia. The base pay often is less than $2.00 and if tips are not included it’s just a massive waste of your time. The base pay needs to be bumped up in order to entice drivers. The burden of pay is placed on customers to do up front tips and the customers often take advantage of the function to withdraw a tip after the order has been delivered for whatever reason and it’s so unfair to the driver. I’ve found other means of income. Uber Eats is just not the way to go anymore!

Where I'm at they can pay pretty well, at times even very well, the problem is its super car friendly area (sidenote: i only know this because TH-cam keeps shoving videos about how cities like mine are evil or something, but i prefer it personally) where everyone also happens to own a car themselves, so practically nobody uses Uber, thus almost nobody uses Uber Eats.

In my area some nights it's great. Other nights it is horrible. I use it as a secondary app when I'm doing spark or door dash. If something good pops up I'll do it, otherwise, I'm out.

I use to drive and accept orders but I’ve notice two things it’s very dangerous if you’re moving fast to get back to a hot zone and also you can’t make a good decision in the trip like looking the route and end address not I pause or end dash until I can stop for new offers

Seems the offers come in better if I'm moving. DD likes to send me the offer after I've driven by the restaurant so I have to turn around. I drive really slowly around residential back roads near the hot spots.

I call it "jogging" an app, like waking it up. If I'm sitting somewhere and nothings happening sometimes I'll just drive across the parking lot. I don't like driving for more than a minute or so if my intention is just to 'wake it up'. If I'm repositioning I'll drive a few minutes but rarely if ever full out reposition 8 minutes away. Completely anecdotal, we've never seen evidence that that does anything to get more orders.

I’m so thankful I found this video! I just recently started driving for UberEats and these tips you’re sharing are so helpful. Like, I wasn’t sure if I should drive around or wait in a parking lot.
And trip radar was confusing because it pops up and goes away so fast, I thought it was a tutorial for a new part of the app and I just could find where to pull it up 😅
By chance, have you talked about the current hot spots that show up on the map? I think this is surge, but it only seems to pop up where they need drivers and even if I’ve picked up in the red area, I don’t think I’ve seen a note of extra pay? I think I’m doing that wrong?
And if I may also ask, have you done a video or talked about prop 22 in California? Or maybe someone is the comments can help? Does this mean on low orders I’m still getting paid a certain amount while active? Should I pick up any order because or prop 22?

I'm in eastern PA (near NJ border) and last night I took 3 DD orders which had NO tip and $2 total. One because it was only a mile and the other 2 were add-ons to other better orders and they were additional mile or two only. I did decline on $2 order which was over 5 miles.

in Mira Mesa Miramar area here with Uber eats on about my 6th week now. I really try to stay away from UTC area apartments due to lack of parking. So annoying. 😂
Thanks for the idea of passing off on orders under $7. Another thing i found out just today is that i can opt out to stop receiving requests from teenagers under 18. Sorry but I have the idea in my head that this was probably why i kept getting small orders for one drink only or one sandwhich only. I would get orders under $4.00 And yes I did take them at first for experience using the app.
PS. I no longer take shop and pay orders for more than about 5 items. For me the more items on the order the more time I spent waiting on customers accepting or rejecting replacement items and later with support when customer did not respond to my reaching out to them.
And even though the items were all found, the time spent shopping was too long for the pay because after all that I still had to deliver it miles away.😵‍💫

I find parking in UTC sometimes under the building like the Lux and tell the customer to come down and get it. Just watch out for reception. Linda Vista has been killing it in the college area with tons of 1 mile orders. Then I love getting sent to Gaslamp. I will put on my hazards and park in the street if it's quick and little traffic. Last night three of 1 mile orders and one was literally next door at the hotel next to claim jumpers. Been averaging 250 if I strategize.

Its pretty decent in my area...F-A-R too many deliveries are absolutely disgusting though...I mean seriously insulting, Uber should seriously be ashamed of themselves for even sending out MANY of these. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
But there are always good ones throughout the day with customers who actually care enough to tip decently. Sometimes REALLY great ones, and because of my exceptionally great customer service, I often receive tip increases, sometimes REALLY nice tip increases.
I'm so thankful for Mike's strategy on what deliveries to accept and avoid...for awhile when I first started with Uber Eats deliveries I was blindly taking any trips that came through, and if there was an add on, I'd just blindly snatch it up too.
But now I only accept deliveries if they're close to $9 or more, and the payout HAS to be at least $5 more than the mileage...and a 2 batched order HAS to be $18 or more, same $5 more than mileage...and if it's a 3 batched delivery, no less than $27 or more and again, same $5 rule.

There is a company that runs car charging stations in my area and they have a 5 minute grace period before they start billing. There is also a business with a free charger right in the main restaurant area of the city.
My startegy is to 'charger hop' along thebway back to the free charger if it's dead out there. Each one is only about a mile for the charge time, but a free mile is a free mile.
This forces me to sit for 5 minutes at a couple of locations and cuts down on my dead miles, which is nice. I used to have a really bad habit of always heading back to my same sitting spot and it reallybeats away at the dollars per mile.

I just completed my 25th delivery, and I have yet to receive an offer anywhere close to a 1.75 to 1 ratio. At least 80% of my offers are less than 1 to 1. When I get one that is 1 to 1, it's like I've hit the lottery. An it's not like I'm taking everything that's offered; my acceptance rate is only 22%. If I waited for a 1.75 or even 1.5 to 1, I would be waiting all day and all night. Either there is some secret I don't know about, or I live in a crap market.

Finally one came in for a few miles and got 10 bucks. Later on I got an offer to stop at 2 different spots then drive to customer for $3.75. I declined and the DD banner pops up saying that my Acceptance rate is going from 44% to 40%. How do we handle that? Decline too many because they don't make sense cash wise but then won't we just just stop getting orders or possibly risk getting dropped by DD? HELP!!

Don't worry about your acceptance rate. Drivers are considered self employed and independent contractors so you can accept or decline any and all offers you want. They can't "fire" you for declining too many offers. There's tons of drivers with single-digit acceptance rates. Don't let them scare you into taking all those trash $2-3 orders in fear of losing your account if you don't.
I personally just leave my app on at home all day while I'm just chillin and just wait for decent orders to come in. Now I'm also just a single guy, not married, no kids, no house mortgage, splitting bills with a roommate so for me this is acceptable but for others that may have a wife, kids, family, and a house that they need to support, this job probably won't cut it.

I drive for about 3 hours a day. Maybe 4, after work at 4pm to 7pm or 8 pm. I average 200 dollars a day doing that. Now it might sound like BS but it's usually 160 minimum for 3 or 4 hours. I do live in a big city though so that is definitely a plus. You just have to pick and choose and double up on orders. If you know your area well, it helps tremendously. You can get to many of the deliveries in much shorter time by not following the route. Again. If you know the streets. They are all kinds of strategies you can try. I'll sit right on a power strip by the Amazon center and pick up 2 orders at 14 bucks a piece with a 15 minute turnaround. I'll do 8 orders in an hour. If I did it 10 hours a day I think I could do 500 in a day. Maybe more. 2 hours from 11-1 and then from 5pm to 1am.. that's 10 hours sitting 6 minutes from an Amazon center, delivering 2, 10 to 14 dollar orders every 15 minutes. It's possible where I am..100%
