What I don't get is that Uber Eats never never has bonus pay in my city. I see it offered in other cities,but it's too far for me to go. Secondly, some of the peak pay has horrible hours. It's like delivering from 4am to 8am in other cities. I just wish they would have peak pay in my city and have it at decent normal hours!!!! Like I said in another comment, always send a text before you drop off food or just send text after customer gets it saying enjoy your food. Thank you for any tips. Appreciate it." You will see ratings and tips go up. I actually find I get more money and people tipping on Uber Eats. It's like 95% of people tip. On DoorDash it's the opposite I find. I just find a bunch of low ball tippers ($1, $2, $3 tip) or just no tip. It's like 80% I want to say of DoorDash
You're also forgetting the fact that the older you're talking about the paid $17.11 so you figured was going to be a lot of tip is just a setup to stymie you later when they reverse happens or there's an issue where they don't show the all the chip which they're notorious of saying the customer added on to tip then least of order more juicy that you would have taken before it even been doing anyway Uber is hiding tips there is never been in six years that I've been doing this so many tips a turn-on from egg from customers at one add-on for extra goodness of their heart than Uber in three months I haven't had that many in six years that I've had with Uber in 6 months it's Insanity they're hiding tips they're also just in case a in relevant relevant to the gratuity

Started repeating their instructions back to them when I click “delivered” per your suggestion and have been getting a tip every time.
In almost 7 months doing Uber eats in my area I've never seen surge pay or anything else. Closest I've seen to what night be considered a quest was one time recently when I was sent a notification saying that if I completed 3 shop & pay orders in that particular weekend I'd get an extra $25 that could take a couple of weeks to show up in my earnings. So I turned shop & play back on--i had turned it off after a few instances of tip baiting. Of course that weekend I didn't see a single shop & pay order pop up.

The add ons are what I pray for every time I drive with Ubereats! lol ;) Last week I had one with 3 deliveries, under an hour, don't recall the miles but it was reasonable for the $40+ I got for that trip. I got another one almost that good two days later. It was so awesome! (I'm in Oregon, in the suburbs of Portland). Oh- and I definitely stick around the higher end restaurants during dinner time- it has made such a difference!! And I haven't seen surge pay offered in my area since early December, so this was all big tippers. I've received as high as a $30 tip before on one delivery!

Tip bating is awesome. First hand experience here. Now with the shop and deliver orders.
I won't accept an add-on order unless it's $7 or more. Often, the restaurant hasn't completed that order by the time you get there. Which means you kill your dollar/time ratio for a low paying order. If $25/hr is the goal, then 5 minutes extra at a 2nd restaurant for $4 doesn't make sense. It really doesn't matter how little extra mileage is added to the initial delivery.

Just added rideshare to my Uber account and realized I can get surge pay even for food delivery. Before that I only relied on boost which is kinda weak if it's a small order.

I accepted a double order once and the app system had me going to the the farthest one first. The 2nd delivery location was 2min from the restaurant pickup place. I felt bad when I delivered the food to the lady because she must have wondered why it took so long.
Omg it does that to me every time and then I get notice it's taking too long for my deliveries! What?!

When your calculating the hourly pay are you using the entire time online or the active time?
In my market the surge pay is not for UE. Uber in my market is now cross marketing ride share on the UE map. There is a surge and when I click on it it tells me if I drive to this area thus surge pay is for customers requesting rides.
I've only once received surge pay, it was a lot of money. It was a quest thing. That stuff is rare around here. Still I like doing it. Getting to $25/hr is a challenge, as is the $1/mile. Usually I'll take it if it's just under. My best to all you drivers out there! Be safe!

Yes!! There was a $11 surge in the area I was in at the time. I received an offer from McDonald’s that came in at $18 for 4.5 miles! A $7 McDonald’s turned into $18
I'm in Orlando area. I haven't seen surge pay in more than a year anywhere near me on uber eats

I got an add on request yesterday for an additional 5 miles, and 18 minutes, and it was +$3.. I hit nope tf out of that, and then did not get a single request from uber eats for 2+ hours after.

UE you should have talked about the promos like driving in this area during a certain time and the guarantee pay is a certain amount per hour.
or how about when you are at the customer location getting ready to turn the corner and another order comes up on the screen, it blocks your view of destination and you almost have to hit on it so you can complete see'ing where you are going. I usually pull over wait it out if I see it isn't worth the payout, then complete to destination when 'request' is off the screen
Just did my first week. Maybe because I'm new to it I don't see any surges. Maybe there isn't in my area at all, all I get to see are hot zones, when i click on them it just says to navigate to them.
Although I don't see surges, I do get a bunch of add-on orders so I guess it helps a bit.
Using the lunch and dinner bonus points I was able to rack up 150 in 4 days

biggest one ive had was 25.50 for 6 miles(was a sheetz order) ive noticed monroeville and murraysville are a pretty decent hot area
I don’t think surge pay applies for UE,even though it showed the surge on my screen and I took the next order,I didn’t see anything on the breakdown.
I've never seen a trend between surge pay and higher offers in my market. I've seen no surge pay effective and a $25 for 0.2 miles from Burger King with no surge and a $6 Mcdonalds order for 3 miles with a $4 surge in an environment where that base pay for that run is usually around $4 to begin with.
Lots of times I notice the add ons are low like 1.50 I just skip it immediately, I'd rather just hit a new order after the first.

I just started doing UE again after about a 2 year break, any idea why in the past month i've seen no quest, no bonus pay, no surge areas? like I thought it was just removed.
I drive for Uber eats, and I've noticed this Christmas there were NO generous tips. Nada. I was turning down the Cheapies left and right, but no bonus tips. I wonder if they will be more generous for the new year; we'll see by New Years Eve.

Hi I’m new to your channel… Just wanted to let you know in Toronto Ontario in Canada they no longer have surge pay they have boost per trip which is like 1.1 X to fouracts during different periods in the day. Once in a blue moon they might put out a promotion where you do three trips they give you three dollar bonus you complete another three trips and you get eight dollar bonus and you complete another three trips and you get $12 usually comes in sets 4 And last one is usually three completed trips for $15 and that’s the morning shift, and then they have another one for the evening I guess dinner shift. But this kind of thing I saw only one time and it’s actually this is the second time which was like this Monday since I started in April 2023. But I was talking to another Uber person I bumped into and they talked about how there used to be up past surge pay we don’t have it anymore and that was a couple of months but I mean anyway since April but mind you are when I’m a newbie I’m not open to all these promotions etc. takes about a month if you’re doing it full-time I didn’t even have a boost at the beginning.

So my question is this, I do Uber Eats part time, my husband does it more, has a higher status than me and I get the surge pay and quests and he doesn’t. Matter of fact in his app there are no opportunities at all
The app page you show is different than the one I see in Georgia
DoorDash is pretty aggravating in Indianapolis. Typically I see their peak pay during times that I won't be driving. I think they are trying to encourage driver's to drive at times most people don't want to. I'm seeing "peak times" anywhere from midnight to 5 AM. The catch is, most restaurants around me aren't open that late, with the exception of some places like Denny's that just recently went back to 24 hours.
I wish UE offered surge and bonus pay like that in my market. I've never seen it anywhere near what you showed. At this point, I don't do many deliveries for UE because the orders are few and far between and the pay has been so low.
I live in a busy are and even here takes like 5 to 8 mins between orders

Been doing Uber eats for about one month. In Central Kentucky. Have literally never seen surge pay or bonus pay come up on the screen. Been doing it for five nights a week from about 430 to 930 that includes Friday and Saturday have never seen bonus pay or surge Pay.
Have not seen surge pay in Charlotte, N.C.
I've never seen surge pay in Atlanta.
Steven C from one of the apartment buildings on Mount Washington told me that I should never take add-on orders because I'll piss off the first order if the food isn't ready at the second place and the first order is made to be delivered to second. He then proceeded to use lots of F words, remove my tip, give me a thumbs down and told me if he ever saw me he would kill me.
Uber Eats did not remove the thumbs down.
Gotta love it.
It also depends where you live because when I was over on the west coast in Washington I was making more than the same amount of time in Ohio
U could have also mentioned customer service and hit bags. It really works better on UE

Excellent question, I've never seen anything official on their support pages detailing that but could definitely see them doing it. Either way always look for the largest margin, if I'm getting $3+/mile for instance I don't care if it's from more base pay, tip or bonus pay.
It seems like all the drivers focus on is the miles but the time is so much more important a factor in 1. Does this restaurant have history of having the food ready or do they make me sit around for 20min while they finish making it or 2. On the drop off end , is this an easy house or a complicated apartment complex I will be trying to find the unit forever . The point being don’t take cheapo orders Just because it’s short distance , you could encounter delays and then your making less than minimum wage for that hour of your time
Here is my question on the big tippers section. UE customers are notorious for tip baiting because unlike DD they have an hour to withdraw their tip. Do you have any advice for dealing with tip baiting?
It is actually rare and almost always on low end orders that you should avoid anyways like McDonalds.
I don't know how they're notorious for tip baiting unless it's just inside of your district. Different districts, different people, different circumstances equal different results. In Pittsburgh they just don't do this. Or rather they haven't for me in my 1800+ deliveries.

My very first time doing Uber eats… the app glitched and completely turned me off. I had to drive 20 minutes to deliver the food which means I had to drive 20 minutes to get back for $11
Park in front of a sushi restaurant. Their orders are above average cost and customers usually good tippers

I use Android and my map looks different. I just get segmented areas with 1.8, 2.0, 1.6 ect. What does that mean?

What happened to "Quests" on Uber Eats? I deliver in St. Louis. For the past 2 weeks, all Quests have disappeared/no longer offered. I was already pretty selective with what offers I accepted, but without the Quest bonuses being offered, I have to be even more selective to make the dollars/mile worth it. Is it normal for them to stop offering Quests? Will they come back? If anyone has some input on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I started to do DD years I was taking almost every order I got for years making $12-$18 per hour. Than I stopped to work on an office for a few years and left a few months ago. Using Mike's advice and strategies has allowed me to make $20-$28 an hour in the New York - Manhattan market multi-apping pairing DD+UE! Mike's tips are a game changer! Cannot thank him enough 🙏
Im considering UE & DD how would I “pair” them? I am currently a Flex Driver since 2017 (which I love) but I can typically only do 2 loads a day because I don’t want to deliver packages at night. I would like to UE during the evening.
Add ons can be great but Uber is ripping us off with the add ons. They will take 90% of the service fee from the customer. Say it’s an $11 add on for an additional .01 miles. That’s great money but then you look at the break down. The customer was charged $20 and Uber gives you a $2 base and the $9 tip.
Look at the break down next time the service fee for the customer will be say $20 and Uber will take $18.
My app used to tell me how much Uber takes in the breakdown but they have recently removed that.

Uber eats is delivering food and doesn't involve having anyone in your vehicle. You can have a crappy little car and do it.
Uber ride is giving people rides from point A to point B and Uber requires a nice car that is ten years old or newer.

I accept a delivery then an addon comes thru. Says +1 minute +.0 km.
I accepted and seems it was just the time n distance from one pik up to another. Both customers were like about 5 mins from each other.
UE is doing a 25 bonus for 3 shop and pays but all the shop and pays I've seen are 3 dollars or less for 5miles or more they definitely screw drivers when there's a bonus for taking so many d eliveries
And i keep getting orders that are to be delivered far from where I'm at for little pay so i have a high decline rate lol
Skip the dishes does not show you your tip or a tip until after delivery also

Mike, have you seen the newest promo? (5/2023) Guaranteed $20/hr not including tips. You can take all the no-tip orders and at the end of the period (usually 5-10 pm and 10pm-3am) Uber is supplementing your pay so that you make $20/hr calculated off just Base pay. It's so great! I'm loving this job again! This week so far $450.95 in 15.5 hours of driving. Conditions apply of course, the biggest one being Do NOT decline more than 50 percent of offers. But, who cares? As Uber is making up the difference.
Must be nice to live in an area where UE actually gives THAT kind of promotional deal.
Best I've seen since starting around 13 days ago is (75 deliveries in 45 days for an additional 750 bucks)
UE in NYC and certain parts of Long Island they guarantee you 15 an hour plus tips. Sadly not in my are as I have busy areas all around me and drivers here can make 120 in just about 4 to 5 hours

I literally have missed getting a tip hundreds of orders ago. Why? I keep in contact with the customer with a test saying I’m on my way and send a test afterwards thanking them. When I get out of my car I hussle walking to their door; I let them think they getting hot food to them is important to me; if they are watching.
