this was a work so well done, gg. the fact that depiste his squishiness and his slow walks sullyvahn managed to have so many close calls (both in victory and defeat) is a testament of his strenght. how beautiful he looked in the moonlight and sunset and starshine, he just wants to be adrama queen til the end xD big thumb up for rennala, morgott, radagon/elden beast, mohg, and malenia, they were the fights the most cinematics (if only we had gotten the angle on placidussax when both transitionned, it would have been perfect) and poor gideon got obliterated, as any ds3 player expected him to be xD
Imagine if Sulyvahn arrived in the Lands Bettens, he would do a gigantic amount of damage. He would probably go to Liurnia, both for his knowledge value and warlike, Sulyvahn was once a mage, so he would recognize the value of the sorcery of the Carian and use it, with his pontiff knights and the abyss spells along with his beasts and fire witches, he would take Liurnia fast. He probably wouldn't kill Renalla, but he would turn her into a fire witch Or in an Outrider Knight like he did with Vordt and the Dancer. I think it's more likely that he turns her into some sort of witch of the abyssal moon, and with the abyss affecting the gods not only in body but in soul, the spells of the abyss would be terrible for the gods. Sulyvahn would be a great threat to the other demigods, and if he had the throne, the era of the deep sea would begin. Sulyvahn has already deposed a moon god, and he would probably discard aldrich,For he was only allied by Aldrich's power as Lord of Ashes, with the lands having a new range of possibilities, he would kill Aldrich. Since Sulyvahn has the knowledge of the moon and stars, why would he need the power of a cannibal and be whose age is over.
Yeah good point also the Abyss is in Elden Ring it’s just called the Void. Gravity magic is basically Hexes. Though I don’t think Sulyvahn uses hexes he used fire and dark moonlight which is magic. Though his knights use hexes alongside ice. I think he’d marry Rennala since she’s his vibe Sulyvahn only turned goddesses into concubines and dancers. He’d defo try his luck with Malenia lmao
Pontiff would get stumped really quick in the lands between, the power level in elden ring is significantly higher than in dark souls. Renalla was one of the strongest beings there, stalemating radagon until they decided to do just the mating part. Remember most notable figures in elden ring are demigods.
Sulyvahn's main weakness is if he gets into phase 2 he becomes a lot more passive compared with how aggressive he is in phase 1. In all the attempts it took me to kill him on my first run of DS3, I think I saw phase 2 just twice because of how difficult I found phase 1 to clear.
I think is possible to have the two butterflies Whit the dragonslayer armour because the butterfly's act separately and they can attack at the same time
@@tailsdollgamer6668 Absolute work. I saw another videos, D.S.A with two butterflies, when second phase is active. I think this DS3 boss is pretty good challenge in Elden ring. (But i hope he got more hp for this challenge) :D
Hard disagree. Dual Gargoles, Godskin Duo, Rennala's first phase, Fire Giant as a whole, I could go on. Elden Ring has plenty of amazing bosses but it doesn't have a higher percentage of gold than DS3, both have nearly the same number of good and bad bosses. What makes me prefer 3 is that the bosses that are bad are only bad because they're too easy, unlike in ER where they're bad because they're either terribly designed gank bosses or flat out boring. Rennala phase 1 is just Deacons all over again. Sekiro is where they perfected boss design, the only "bad" boss I can think of off the top of my head is the giant ape gank.
@jacobesterson Sekiro's combat is different enough that it is hard to compare it, but yeah, there is definitely more annoying boss fights in Elden Ring. However, the good/best bosses in Elden Ring are significantly better than the best bosses in DS3.
The only good gank fights in dark souls are in ds3, with those being the demon prince and sister friede’s second phase. Also O&S I guess but that’s ds1
Reminds me of my favorite detail about pontif. That unique clanging noise his profaned greatsword makes in ds3 is probably one of my favorite sounds in a souls game. A shame it doesnt make the noise when you use it lol
This was one of the best A.I. battles I've seen! There was a lot of battles that went right down to the wire. Battles like that keeps you at the edge of your seat. I also like how you give morgit and godrick a chance by basically putting them on the same lvl as their enemy. Otherwise it's not even worth adding them in videos because they will be destroyed 😅
Better Make Pontiff Sulyvahn Converge mod since He had 3 Bar of 3 Phase (P1 Faster, P2 Doppel, P3 Isshin) Your Video will be worth it 100000000% record
Notice how Sulyvahn fucking mogs most of them despite being a mid game boss? Just goes to show that DS3 really did get crushingly difficult movesets down as opposed to just making its bosses stat checks
It was pretty obvious the dude screwed with his stats as the vid went on. I mean, he almost lost to Margit and Godrick. If you look at boss comparisons most would kill them in like 3 shots.
@@Seregrutheshe almost lost to margit because he refused to swing when he literally only needed 2 more hits, idk why he kept tryna charge up a big attack
My guy his stats are boosted, also Pontiff is arguably one of the easiest and most telegraphed bossfights. Considering how similar DS3 and ER bosses are I don’t know what you mean by saying they’re just “stat checks”
if you think about it Sulyvahn is the original Elden Ring player, Mimic tear and everything. I think both Sulyvahn and Aldritch qould be great as Godskin Bosses Sulyvahn would be the Godskin Paladin, a powerful swordsman weilding not only a black flame blade but a stolen moonlight greatsword of a past Carrian Aldritch would be The Godskin Ascendant, a combo of the erdtree serpent and gideon, using all the abilites of gods you've defeated with black flame element while also slithering around in his disgusting skinsuit with coutless faces lining it
I feel like either the DS bosses need to have the stagger mechanic added or have the stagger mechanic taken away from the ER bosses to make things truly even.
well with the elden ring DLC launch trailer, i am sure we will have pontiff vs pontiff 2.0 soon (whatever the other boss's name is) at the time of this comment it is the 20th june
So malenia still beat pontiff, but keep in mind that she should have killed him in her first phase because she heals with every strike. She did not do that in this battle
It's very impressive how well you made him, I just think he could be a little buffed in elden ring terms, like making his magic attacks bigger and with piercing effect, and double his poise. For making him more challenging to the player.
The AI of Pontiff is incapable of registering many attacks because it only see others as normal size players and only recognize them as similar to with player's attack would be. Leading it to tank a lot of escapable attacks.
Before watching: Who do you guys think will he win and lose against? I'm sure he will have an epic battle with the godskin duo and maybe win. But I think he loses to Radagon and elden beast.
Im not excpecting him to beat any late game bosses, he wont have enough hp to last long enough. But Pontiff is surprisingly aggressive, and doesnt stagger as easily as some later bosses like Gael if I remember right. So maybe he'll surprise me.
@@goosemanVEVO Either GOE scaled him up or I underestimated Pontiff's power. I thought he'd just get outscaled. In terms of moveset and AI though, he's quite the menace. If it weren't for waterfowl he probably wouldn't beaten no-heal Malenia. The Gideon fight demonstrated exactly what it feels like to fight him for the first time in DS3 lol.
@@jacobesterson I believe at the beginning GOE stated that they'd be adjusting him for each boss accordingly, presumably to keep it more balanced since he's a mid-game boss. I was impressed at just how much damage he could deal against bosses when he goes into phase 2, especially against Radahn. My first attempt against Pontiff didn't actually go too badly. I somehow got to phase 2, but then got killed. Then I had the usual Souls problem of never making it so far for a lot more attempts. Phase 1 is so tough that I saw phase 2 just twice, I think. He's so much more passive in that phase.
@@budynmistygnie Yes, I meant he would not kill Radagon and elden beast back to back. I think they scaled him to every boss accordingly. If he had the strongest scaling, he might have beaten the godskins.
I dislike how GOE made it so that only a few of the Elden Beasts attacked land. Just to make the fight seem closer than it really is. They really tried to make him seem stronger than he really is. Which is nice and all, but for the Elden Beast fight it was just to obvious not to notice. This is in contrast to some of the other fights were you could kinda feel how something was kinda of, but you had a harder time to place it.
All moon presence needs is a health buff. His op move is enough to take on Elden ring as the only ones who are probably able to survive it are Melania and mohg if the move moon presence has isn’t nerfed. In an explained video, The 1 hp move is actually supposed to kill you but since the player ate the umbilical cords you are more god like than human. So every boss from Elden ring either ate the umbilical cords or just have too much hp. Moon presence automatically wins with his op attack, whether it is Melania or mogh or even maliketh all of them will not survive because of this attacks tremendously high damage. Moon presence just needs a health buff.
World’s greatest sorcerer, Sulyvahn vs world’s greatest sorceress, Rennala. What an amazing battle. Another fantastic mod of the most interesting character in DS3. Well done guys!
I’m curious, are you able to mod in bosses from lies of p? Since that game has similar boss fights it would be cool to see some fight the bosses in Elden ring.
I'd like to throw some names into the hat to see them fight Elden Ring bosses. 1. DragonSlayer Armor 2. The Soul of Cinder 3. Sister Friede 4. just for fun Darkeater Midir
probably will never be confirmed here but in the second phase, is Pontiff coded so that the "main" body only acts after the clone? ive seen so many mods whith pontiff that act strange when he has the ghost out and i can only think of this being the main reason

Since Sulyvahn has the knowledge of the moon and stars, why would he need the power of a cannibal and be whose age is over.
he probably wasn't allied with aldrich, and his foces don't use deep spells, it very popssible that his knight were actually killed by aldrich forces
@@Sercrocperhaps he offered gwyndolin to Aldrich as a truce
Yeah good point also the Abyss is in Elden Ring it’s just called the Void. Gravity magic is basically Hexes. Though I don’t think Sulyvahn uses hexes he used fire and dark moonlight which is magic. Though his knights use hexes alongside ice. I think he’d marry Rennala since she’s his vibe Sulyvahn only turned goddesses into concubines and dancers. He’d defo try his luck with Malenia lmao
yep, there is atheory about it by people that checked the jap trasnlation directly@@guerindacio4584
Pontiff would get stumped really quick in the lands between, the power level in elden ring is significantly higher than in dark souls. Renalla was one of the strongest beings there, stalemating radagon until they decided to do just the mating part. Remember most notable figures in elden ring are demigods.
What a sad state.. Gideon got bullied so hard.
He attacked Giidy same as I did. Before he was able to finish his story. What a sad state of affairs.
@@davidtsmith33 He deserves that, lol. So annoying when you give him a chance.
Yeah@@Toot7. He'll kill you with every spell imaginable. LOL.
@@davidtsmith33 The all spamming.😂
Dude even gets disrespected in the Convergence Mod lol
He was already a Elden Ring boss in DS3... Fast, cool, and hard
Dragonslayer armour when?🤔
Dragonslayer and Lothric is all we need left. The Abysswatcher and the Dancer too. Damn… just realised how many epic bosses DS3 had.
@@CrescentCrusader99 Yeah, i think too.
And Midir too

Time to see Pontiff vs Rellana
Pontiff giving Gideon the first time treatment was glorious
I love how Gideon didn’t even finish his sentence because Sulyvahn immediately starting beating the shit out of him 😂
Needs a new updated version: Pontiff vs Rellana.
Ive got to see him fight Rellana now. See who is the better magic twinblader
So cool, I would you see the most Dragonslayer Armour!! :D :D
Do you think they can add the butterfly too?
I think is possible to have the two butterflies Whit the dragonslayer armour because the butterfly's act separately and they can attack at the same time
@@tailsdollgamer6668 I want to see the angel fight people, apparently THEY ARE BROKEN
@@mewxtherealitygod4706 yes, but without angels. DSA is so strong too, huge poise & damage.
@@tailsdollgamer6668 Absolute work. I saw another videos, D.S.A with two butterflies, when second phase is active. I think this DS3 boss is pretty good challenge in Elden ring. (But i hope he got more hp for this challenge) :D
16:50 the final boss of DS3 vs the final boss of ER
Good point lol
Except he’s a midgame boss lol
@@rigorm136He was originally intended to be the final boss before they decided that the avatar of the First Flame itself was cooler
@@dalton2845 ik
FromSoft really perfected their boss design in Elden Ring. Beautifully fought.
@@jacobestersoni will never understand froms devs obsession with making gank fights with character moves not based around being ganks.
The only good gank fights in dark souls are in ds3, with those being the demon prince and sister friede’s second phase. Also O&S I guess but that’s ds1
@@jacobestersonyou named a few bad Elden Ring bosses while half of all of the DS games bosses are terrible, especially DS3.
really awesome to see a boss i had so much trouble with get his ass beat
Pontiff is not mid-boss from ds3. Pontiff is to tier boss that you encounter in a middle of your journey. 0:05
I think he meant that
his clone didnt seem that functional in most boss fights
Reminds me of my favorite detail about pontif. That unique clanging noise his profaned greatsword makes in ds3 is probably one of my favorite sounds in a souls game. A shame it doesnt make the noise when you use it lol
Morgott:
*now you fight Margitt the fell* wait who are you?
Pontiff sulyvahn: I’m the pope…. *Of Death*
17:29 so beautiful picture....
Pontiff to Margit: You'll never defeat me.
Margit: Then what do you call the last five minutes?!
Pontiff: ...Pity...
could you make a part 2 where pontiff's profaned flame is replaced with messmer's flame
also make it fight the DLC bosses too (especially rellana)
One of my favorite characters from the Souls series returning to the lands between really makes me happy :)
dynamic leveling is how all these fights should be done!
4:55 - I personally like this Chuck Norris interaction =) "You think this is a blast? Now THIS is a BLAST!!!"
24:30 Pontiff: "All of that for a drop of blood?"
Yeah!
@dantestryder Still did though and bosses scale waaaaaaay crazier after the first 4. So dude just screwed with his stats for entertainment.
Nah, dark souls 3 bosses weren’t very hard. I think on average elden ring bosses are much harder you can just cheese them more if you choose
My guy his stats are boosted, also Pontiff is arguably one of the easiest and most telegraphed bossfights. Considering how similar DS3 and ER bosses are I don’t know what you mean by saying they’re just “stat checks”
Placidusax doing more damage with a single lightning than sullyvan with 2 entire combos is pretty funny
Hope we can see Fume Knight and Burnt Ivory King modded into Elden Ring soon.
I feel that morgott is the pontiff of elden ring.
More like morgott is the gwyndolin of elden ring
Way too pathetic for that to be honest
@@lordofcinder8884don’t bully Pontiff like that
I would love the see Fume Knight Raime in one of these
Sully probably thought to himself: "Eh, I overthrew one kingdom of gods, I can take another !"
if you think about it Sulyvahn is the original Elden Ring player, Mimic tear and everything. I think both Sulyvahn and Aldritch qould be great as Godskin Bosses
Sulyvahn would be the Godskin Paladin, a powerful swordsman weilding not only a black flame blade but a stolen moonlight greatsword of a past Carrian
Aldritch would be The Godskin Ascendant, a combo of the erdtree serpent and gideon, using all the abilites of gods you've defeated with black flame element while also slithering around in his disgusting skinsuit with coutless faces lining it
I feel like either the DS bosses need to have the stagger mechanic added or have the stagger mechanic taken away from the ER bosses to make things truly even.
I know this one guy who's beating pontiff sulyvahn on the convergence mod every day until elden ring dlc drops.
Malikeths aggression putting pontiffs to shame.
5:02 "there's nothing we can do..."
well with the elden ring DLC launch trailer, i am sure we will have pontiff vs pontiff 2.0 soon (whatever the other boss's name is)
at the time of this comment it is the 20th june
The Pontiff has a stand!
His HP and his stability were his greatest weaknesses.
Don't forget speed
The dragon slayer armor would be a glorious opponent to the bosses ELDEN RING.
21:36 Sulyvahn and Mohg: it's over😔🤝😔
So malenia still beat pontiff, but keep in mind that she should have killed him in her first phase because she heals with every strike. She did not do that in this battle
Dude, I can't wait for an "Artorias vs everyone" to come up
It will also be necessary to organize a fight for Gehrman from Bloodborne against all the bosses of the Elden ring
P. Sully almost got owned by Margit lol.
Seeing how long he took to beat Margit and how much damage Margit did to him I don't think he will fare too well.
Forgot this was here. Pontiff did *way* better than i thought he would vs malenia
The Suly vs Apostle fight was close as. Makes me wonder how a FT10 would go. Also, I want a poster of that Suly vs Mhg slow walk shot.
Pontiff Sulyvahn vs Rellana.
Absolutely stunning
Modding really breathes fresh life into older titles
Love when the AI bugs out and judt edgewalks while getting smacked continuously 😂
Would love to see the Abyss Watchers vs every Elden ring boss
I wanna see Aldrich vs Rykard. Together they may devour the very gods !
Rellana vs Sulyvahn?
How did Margit and godrick do better than morgott? , did you mess with pontiff stats at least tell us when you do that
He literally states in the intro that he's made his scaling dynamic, meaning it's altered with some of the bosses he's put against
J'adore le combat contre radagon , ils saute tous les deux pour attaquer font tous les deux des esquive c incroyable sa bouge partout juste insane
Please do either demon of hatred , knight artorias or manus next
They don’t have the Elden Ring engine like DS3 does so that would be very different. Artorias can pass as the Abyss Watcher fight though
Please make Artorias or Ornstein and Smough against elden ring bosses🙌🏻
They likely will lose to most considering how basic their movesets are
@@hhyperxuserxd2680 True, so in that case the abyss watchers are a better option, or Yhorm
@@Martin_Pin_Pin any DS3 or Bloodborne bosses will do well, but yeah I would like to see Abyss Watcher and Yhorm
7:10 damn they so fits
Proud of my boi apostle👍
Before watching: Who do you guys think will he win and lose against? I'm sure he will have an epic battle with the godskin duo and maybe win. But I think he loses to Radagon and elden beast.
Im not excpecting him to beat any late game bosses, he wont have enough hp to last long enough. But Pontiff is surprisingly aggressive, and doesnt stagger as easily as some later bosses like Gael if I remember right. So maybe he'll surprise me.
Update: he actually killed Radagon
@@budynmistygnie
Yes, I meant he would not kill Radagon and elden beast back to back.
I think they scaled him to every boss accordingly. If he had the strongest scaling, he might have beaten the godskins.
I beg for the Abyss Watchers. I will wait as long as needed to see them one day get ported.
I need Moon Presence next 😩
Gehrman The First Hunter, pleaseee!!
World’s greatest sorcerer, Sulyvahn vs world’s greatest sorceress, Rennala. What an amazing battle.
Another fantastic mod of the most interesting character in DS3. Well done guys!
Gideon got his shit rocked
Don't screw around Pontiff, Margitt almost beat you
I’m curious, are you able to mod in bosses from lies of p? Since that game has similar boss fights it would be cool to see some fight the bosses in Elden ring.
As long as the opponent doesn’t have oppressive AOE attacks, pontiff does really well.
Also Morgott got rocked compared to Margit.
Now pontiff vs Shadow of the Erdtree.
You forgot the Serpent King.
We need aldrich
I can already tell that Aldrich's arrow attack will absolutely demolish the large bosses
@@bizarreutahraptor and that's why i asked about him

I'd like to throw some names into the hat to see them fight Elden Ring bosses.
1. DragonSlayer Armor
2. The Soul of Cinder
3. Sister Friede
4. just for fun Darkeater Midir
probably will never be confirmed here but in the second phase, is Pontiff coded so that the "main" body only acts after the clone? ive seen so many mods whith pontiff that act strange when he has the ghost out and i can only think of this being the main reason
Ye he only copies attacks his clone does but sometimes he will sequence break and do his own thing i think if the clone gets staggered
He is by far the best Swordsman from all DS universes.
