    Good overview of under bonnet and underside. We done a similar video as I think it's important for EV owners to see things they may not normally. You mentioned Varta battery, here in Australia all ours have the SAIC branded battery standard but I was impressed with the quality Michelin tyres fitted as standard. Keep the great video's coming.

      Yes Michelin tyres, but they are made in China. Didn't know Michelin made tyres in China until I saw these.

    I have had my ZS EV for five months now, things they could do to improve, the first would be to turn the charging point cover the other way up so it opens downward instead of upward- secondly bonnet rams to lift and hold bonnet up and open as quite a big bonnet - Thirdly underseal or wax oil the underside a little better - fourthly put a bit more clear coat on the paint finish as I think the paintwork is very thin and chips easy. Apart from that I am well happy with mine.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep, agree with all of that. Paint is thin on most modern cars though. I don't find the MG any worse than others.

      Re the charge port, MG 5 has it in the same position but it swings open to the side, which I think is much better.

    Agree with the additional undertray needed. I think SAIC also missed a trick with the area leftover under the bonnet. Enough space for a fairly shallow but wide boot area with a removable tray.

    Great underbonnet & underside tour. I had the same query about the plastic cover to the rear of the spare wheel well. If you look it is BELOW the spare wheel well, from inside the boot the well is the lowest point of the inside of the MG, that plastic cover underneath goes far below the level of the spare wheel well pressing, would be great if you could have a look behind the cover for us either endoscope tool view or cover off, please??

    when you are underneath you see the wasted space especially at the back.
    and that there are so many open spaces that would give drag when driving when you look at a tesla completely flat and covered vs so many places water and mud can go and rust the car
    the problem with front charge places is a front accident and chance of freezing in winter so can not open

    Do you know if the gear reduction box oil needs to be serviced?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've not done a ZS yet, but it will be the same as all EVs in that the manufacturer doesn't include gear oil as part of the service routine and treats it as "lasts the lifetime", but you're better off changing it every 60-70k miles or so.

    • @xulianxo

      Thanks for replying.
      Just wondering the kind of oil I need and the amount for the service of the gear box on my MGzs ev. If you jnow please let me know.
      Regards.

      @GoGreenAutos  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@xulianxo I don't know the exact ZS specs, but nearly all EVs use MTF 70W-75W (manual transmission oil) and typically the reduction gearboxes hold 1.0-1.2 litres. I've done some gearbox videos if you're interested www.youtube.com/@GoGreenAutos/search?query=gearbox

    Interesting. Don't like the design that lets water spray over the internal components. That's bound to increase faults as time goes on.

    Spiders and mice love living under the bonnet of an EV as it's not a stinky, dirty and scalding hot place like an ICE car lol
