You….. you are the real Fkn hero today!! Purchased an android 13 touch screen for my Ram…. Hooked up the power to rail lights as I’ve done with all my cars….For months no one could tell me why it wasn’t working… then I found this video .. perfection
FINALLY!!! A wiring video that made sense. I have spent days looking at video after video and they never explained to the layperson what and why they were doing. Mysterious harnesses and wires appearing out of thin air already put together off screen. This actually was easy to follow and no extraneous octopus wires falling from the sky. I also appreciate your recommendation to wire and test BEFORE mountjng the camera. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
This is about the 20th video I've watched trying to figure out fitting an Eonon canbus/head unit/reverse camera to my Golf, and it's the first one that has made absolute sense. A couple of small differences in how the wires are laid out on my system but now that I understand what's actually going on I can figure it out. Thank you :)
Oh my god, I've spent 7 hours today trying to get this working and I finally found your video and it worked! Thanks you very much! Why can't the Chinese just give this information in the instructions instead of random words and useless images!!
Have wired a good few reversing cameras in past, mainly on excavators and trucks and this one I bought for my VW caddy threw me off. Spent ages neatly wiring it into tailight loom and was puzzled when it didn’t work. Would have been handy if stero manufacturer labelled cables. I was sure the little blue wires were the signal ones. Will have to go back out to workshop now and get it sorted, cheers for the good video, don’t know what I would have done without it
Thank you!! Very useful video, i have strugled a lot before finding this video. I was connecting the + and - to the backlight like many others said but the camera wasn't working. Thank you again!!
Hey man, thanks for the info. I was stuck on which wire to use for the reverse trigger. And I used the brown wire as there was no pink one in my loom. This was a small project I was doing with my son, and we had fun... a lot actually, especially with your hand gestures...😀 So thanks again. All the best.
I did mine with a canbus and I connected it to the reverse light worked only when car wasn’t on only ignition position 1 but when I turned engine on and put in reverse didn’t work so that’s were I made my mistake thanks for the video I’ll re do it again tomorrow
Thanks a lot for the clear instructions. I will test that tomorrow, but I'm sure it will work. This gave me the confidence to do it. Real valuable content. The iso cable comes with a clear "Rear" flag on it. On the canbus plug there's nothing AND it's already plugged elsewhere. I knew it was the third cable next to the red power wire, but it's hard to start cutting wires on a brand new unit when you're not an electrician. one is always afraid to ruin the circuits and the warranty. But I think the ground comes already from the yellow video cable. I guess the little black wire can be let free
I recommend hooking up the ground, less your head unit becomes the ground in a short. Its like hooking up the 3rd green wire ground on a ceiling fan. That would be my assumption why the wire is there.
Thanks to you @AudioVisionUSA I just got it installed tonight on my VW MK6 after watching tons of YT videos, yours nailed it simplified! Saved me $AU 150 in labor fee bigtime!

Just like you said, regardless of wire color (mine was Brown even though the manual diagram showed Pink) the Third from the Ground splice between the CAN box is the Ticket!!!! I have been back and forth with the customer service rep and technician sending generic videos and fuzzy pictures from the slow boat from china Alibaba company (Reako Sounds plug and play K2001N Android 12) that I bought mine from. So for $50 bucks, I really can't complain!

I have a 2011 silverado with a factory camera, how would i go about hooking it up, i believe my stereo is similar to the one in this video! Thanks in advance 😊
It needs to be grounded to the vehicle. Find a metal spot somewhere close the camera to attach it, preferably underneath out-of-sight. You may have to drill a hole and use a screw if you can't find anywhere.
Which is better, crimping or soldering? Also its shocking the amount of videos ive seen where people are connecting to a reverse light or a washer motor wiring to power the camera instead of using the power from the head unit which has canbus.

Or is it just there to save extra effort to not connect them to reverse light power positive??? Thanks
Hi 👋 the power comes from the canbus. If you connect it to the reverse light as well it will send a unnecessary signal when in reverse and it could damage the canbus after a while, which will then cause the radio to not function properly.
@@audiovisionusa @AudioVisionUSA okay thanks so if we so have canbus, its best to wire like in the video first, and then if still not working like this then only connect the red rear to power positive from reverse light. It's a non sense. Accessory wire send 12v constantly when ignition is on. The camera will be always powered when u drive. And the cable camera going to the head unit has only the video connector and a little red wire. This red wire should be connected to the trigger and plug the yellow connector with the yellow "camera in" connector of the head unit.

Fitted a camera to a mitsubishi asx , cannot get a image from it .. changes to a black screen when I put the car into reverse..but just a black screen ??
Heya. Im having trouble with the camera. It works fine to be fair, but at night it takes atleast 8 seconds for the brightness to adjust. Is there a possible way to have the camera stay on (not visible on screen) as soon as the rear lights turn on? Thanks for the great video btw
Your unit is probably slow or faulty. With Canbus, as soon as you go into reverse it will signal your camera, if it’s not adjusting then no wire changes will fix that. Even if you link it to your taillight I’m pretty sure it would still do that, not sure just my thought
@@raquellewis7294 I dont think my unit is slow nor faulty. The iso and all that is controlled by the cam so it probably takes a minute to start up and adjust it all. My thought was that i might be able to circumvent this by having it powered all the time.
That's the hope, at least. Seems like sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Dependent on whether you have an 1. auto vs manual transmission. 2. If your canbus actually "communicates transmission gear reverse" as some canbus are designed for other features in different cars and may not be associated with transmission gear status. If this is the case then even if you have a canbus - it won't work if you splice it like in this video. To figure it out (I think) just hook up your android head to power before you do any splicing and cutting and just put your car in reverse and see if the android head screen switches to a "Reverse cam view" regardless of if the cam is actually attached. I guess the only plus to attaching the cam before you install it is to confirm that it draws enough power from the "reverse" wire.
Do these units always need an after-market camera, or can the original stock factory camera of a 2011 Chevrolet work without having to install a new one?

So I’ve connected everything and the camera worked. And then next day it stopped working. Now I haven’t ground the wire to anything and it was working. But could that be the cause because I didn’t ground the wire?
It’s most likely something else, the ground shouldn’t effect this. One of your connections may have came loose or it could possibly be your settings if they were adjusted.
Great! Without previous experience, I've installed the rear camera thanks to your video (the unit I bought, on Aliexpress, came with a wire already "ready" to be jointed to the red wire, marked "back", no need to cut and split the "pink" wire)> A big THANK YOU! 😁
This worked great. Very puzzled when I finished the wiring but I still had this weird split/B&W image on screen. Checked my Eonon (android) settings and you can toggle the camera from PAL to something else to NTSC (which is what we need here in the US).
Thanks so much, I have been fighting with this unit for a week, watched your video, did what it said, and it worked, thank you again for that. Now I have to figure out how to get the lines to come on, and the sound. any suggestions?
Thank you for this awesome video. Probably the most informative & slowing how to properly splice. One question...at the end of the video you said not to forget to connect the ground. Might be a silly question but where do I connect the negative ground to? Thanks!
Does the pink (3rd wire) receive the 12v when the vehicle is switched into reverse via the canbus. I'm using original camera and not connecting the additional camera and not spicing pink. The unit should receive power and switch screen even if the camera is blank. What controls power to this pink wire - Is it programming in Canbus or the Android device configuration?
If not power to the red wire (the one who connect to the Third like on the video) when reverse then take the positive from the back up light.this is that works for me
This fixed my issue of the camera not coming on in my Corolla with an android screen. It was a brown wire not labeled so yeah I would have never figured this out. Great video!

It’s most likely something else, the ground shouldn’t effect this. One of your connections may have came loose or it could possibly be your settings if they were adjusted.
@@audiovisionusa Ok I’m going to check connection and if not factory reset it unit
@@audiovisionusa- it was the connections. Thanks for the help. Subscribe to save another persons troubles

Great! Without previous experience, I've installed the rear camera thanks to your video (the unit I bought, on Aliexpress, came with a wire already "ready" to be jointed to the red wire, marked "back", no need to cut and split the "pink" wire)>
A big THANK YOU! 😁
Thank you very much you are the best
This worked great. Very puzzled when I finished the wiring but I still had this weird split/B&W image on screen. Checked my Eonon (android) settings and you can toggle the camera from PAL to something else to NTSC (which is what we need here in the US).
Thanks, buddy, great help finally. i was able to install the camera. Simple and easy.
If not power to the red wire (the one who connect to the Third like on the video) when reverse then take the positive from the back up light.this is that works for me
Where do i plug the ground cable please ?
What if my car already has a factory backup camera, what process changes here?
Did you manage to get it working? I will.remove the oem today finally, and see if i can replace for a better one!
Does this works if your car already have a factory reverse camera? Thanjs in Advance
Unfortunately.. nothing here to tell me why my oem backup camera isnt working
If you put power to the camera why dont it come up on the screen, instead of no signal?
This fixed my issue of the camera not coming on in my Corolla with an android screen. It was a brown wire not labeled so yeah I would have never figured this out. Great video!
Thanks. When headunit deep sleeps, if i put reverse it says no signal until android fully boots any tips for this?
What do you mean ground negative? Does the black wire go into the reverse light?
How can i connect the black wire to the ground? Some help? Thank you
