I suppose because its the genre that he’s watching, it brings different perspectives to the table. They *are* completely different types of movies after all. With children’s movies, they always play it safe so it’s fun to get a little edgy and see some real tense action. In horror movies, the innocent figures are what people cling to the most so it always comes as a shock when that safety net’s taken away.

I watched this with my family one holiday and the TV has windows on either side. As we were watching, I kept seeing a shadowy figure rushing past unnaturally fast between the window and the neighbor's wall, along the side of the house. My family called me paranoid (I'm a scaredy cat) until my sister saw it too and then everyone did. It was so freaky because it didn't time with cars passing, it wasn't a reflection of things happening inside, etc. I kept seeing it out of the corner of my eye but the figure was gone by the time I could look properly and it was also dark outside. I thought it was a prowler but it was just... too unnatural. Too tall and too fast. I went home and didn't think about it until weeks later until I brought it back up to my mom. She said, "Oh, I didn't tell you? There's a large possum named Frank that gets the zoomies at night and runs back and forth along that wall." I was seeing the silhouette of the speedy possum at the top of the wall which was a very tall person's head height and my brain was filling in the gaps. It made watching this movie 10x more terrifying!

I watched this with my family one holiday and the TV has windows on either side. As we were watching, I kept seeing a shadowy figure rushing past unnaturally fast between the window and the neighbor's wall, along the side of the house. My family called me paranoid (I'm a scaredy cat) until my sister saw it too and then everyone did. It was so freaky because it didn't time with cars passing, it wasn't a reflection of things happening inside, etc. I kept seeing it out of the corner of my eye but the figure was gone by the time I could look properly and it was also dark outside. I thought it was a prowler but it was just... too unnatural. Too tall and too fast. I went home and didn't think about it until weeks later until I brought it back up to my mom. She said, "Oh, I didn't tell you? There's a large possum named Frank that gets the zoomies at night and runs back and forth along that wall." I was seeing the silhouette of the speedy possum at the top of the wall which was a very tall person's head height and my brain was filling in the gaps. It made watching this movie 10x more terrifying!

When I saw this in the theater, there wasn't a peep when little Georgie got his arm brutally ripped off and was dragged to his death, but when the cat scene happened the entire audience let out a horrified, "Awww!" (myself included XD)
