I really like that recording device. Having a stand alone phone recorder is handy. Also, being able to magnetically attach it to anything is a nice feature.
Great video as always! I noticed the Plaud Note recorder requires a subscription for some features, and the Rolling Square tracker card has a non-replaceable battery that requires it to be sent back and repurchased. As a sealed unit the Glowstone probably has a non-replaceable battery as well. I see more and more products like this. I'm not saying these are not great products. They seem like they are very well-designed and very cool. But I wish the future was not moving toward non-replaceable batteries and subscription models.

Ya know what may make for a good video topic. A bald man’s carry. For example I was recently introduced into a palm skull shaver, and its been a game changer for maintaining my lack of hair.
Hi Jon, just discovered your channel recently and it’s thoroughly entertaining. I have some alternatives for the budding 007. The Olight Open Glow bolt action pen, Features A Pen Clip 120 lumens LED Light, Pen Tip Light for stealth writing in the dark and a very bright Green 48Cd laser Pointer Beam At The Tail. Also the Olight Oclip clip light, milled from solid aluminium, will withstand all abuse and only 13 mm thick. With Dual light sources: A300 lumens White light for daily use and red light for night vision. Red flashing for signalling your commando boat pickup or a powerful strobe to disorientate the baddies. It’s very lightweight and compact light with a versatile clip.USB type C charging. Finally the micro folding ceramic knife. So small it can be hidden anywhere and cannot be detected by security detectors. 1.75” long when closed but only 5 grams in weight. Razor sharp Chisel edged white ceramic blade. No metal to rust so can be tucked away and forgotten for years and still will be sharp. Idea for cutting yourself loose or cutting your way out of trouble. A yes these are part of my everyday carry. Plus some really special goodies.😅
Jamie's massive personality always pushes an already entertaining video over the top. Thanks, Jon, for the always informative and expertly presented content.
Quick Suggestion: You should try and use the glass breakers on small/medium glass panels if possible, showcasing the effectiveness and force required. While it won't be precisely comparable to real-world scenarios and the different glass types, atleast gives us a quick look. Plus who doesn't like some good chaos and mayhem with some planned destruction (for scientific purposes haha) And as usual, thanks Jon for the cool videos and for bringing these products under our radar! Cheers!
9:09 That "finger loop" meets the legal definition of a knuckleduster/brass knuckles in the UK, and in just about every state in the US. It's a serious crime to even own one in your own home in the UK.
I'd like passive voice activated mode on the recorder to ignore silences or to use as a covert recorder. Non-android tracker is of no interest to 71% of global phone owners. The flashlight is just a silly gadget/toy. Infantile. Worst Wuben product I've ever seen, enough said. The screwdriver looks too big for edc, is expensive and with only 2 bits it won't be coming my way. I really like the glow stone but it's also a bit expensive for me. But the winner, for me, is the power bank. Great video Jon, love your work.
That flashlight with the finger hole would probably get you in trouble in the UK. Its basically a knuckle duster. You seem to know uk knife laws, but other items ar covered as weapons in the UK, and brass knuckles are illegal to own in the UK.
Jon, need your help. 😉 I search a very small selfi stick for my EDC pack. All sticks i found are very thick and chunky. Thats all to much for my pack. I need a micro solution. Jon, You are the Master of Gadgets, have you a idea? 🙏
I wonder how the Plaud microphone compares to the microphone on a mobile. Or to an external microphone that you can connect to a mobile. It must be much better, otherwise I don’t see the added value.
Not sure why you would need a separate voice recorder as there are apps that do exactly that on a phone or tablet. Especially when looking at privacy, the last thing you want is storage on a cloud. If you want to separate devices, i could i.e. use my tablet while on the phone. So it seems redundant to me.
two devices would work but not that convenient walking down the street - no iPhone apps for phone recording - Android I am told have now restricted this too
@@wattersdr only place I have needed(using that term lightly) a bottle opener is a place that has them (bar, kitchen, cookout).also lol if you are comparing that to lifesaving devices...i am guessing you mean the following. Sigh ... Only 2 bits in the $165CAD screwdriver that you can only preorder, and every electronic device is one or more of: - not available to buy ("pre-order" means you can't get one now) - useless because I have an Android phone - pointless unless I switch to a Quadlock case - needs an app for full function - has a non-replaceable or uncommon battery - has fidget toy(s) as a "feature" ... The recent bias towards only sponsored, expensive, and/or not-yet-available devices (vs generally useful devices under $100) bias is making me rethink that decision.
Hi Robbie, Thanks for your comment but I would like to point out that we still do plenty of budget videos and multitools reviews, in fact 3 of the last 5 videos are on multitools but to keep our channel growing we need to mix things up and show other things available on the market. Not every video will be for everyone. Now a fair few items are on pre-order, but in my opinion, that’s a good thing as we are showing brand-new items coming out. Regarding trackers on phones, I’m an android user and I will never move over to Apple but from what I've tested there are no good trackers for android and I've tested plenty. Apple has this nailed with Find My but If I find one that is good, we will include this in a video and Jon will review it despite being an Apple user. Finally, there is no bias toward sponsored products at all, in fact, this video doesn’t have a sponsor, some videos do and when they do we point it out VERY clearly. Hope this clears everything up and we are hoping victorinox releases some new pocket knives as we love reviewing victorinox.

I've seen a few comments questioning the usefulness of the audio recorder when your phone already has one, and you can get a wireless mic for it for much cheaper, so I wanted to offer a perspective. I think the added value is streamlining the workflow of taking lots of audio recordings -> having them in easy to use format, and making it automated and effortless. for someone who takes lots of voice notes, or frequently records lectures/meetings, or needs to be ready to conduct an interview at any given time or location, I could really see the allure of being able to do all that throughout the day, then get back to the office or home and have it all at your computer, ready and waiting to be used without any extra effort on your part. or even having to touch your phone. and miss me with the cloud/AI "privacy" nonsense 🤡 this is for people who have most of their important stuff already on cloud services because they live normal lives and it wouldn't matter even if the conspiracy government was monitoring them. I personally have no use for it, but I imagine it's incredibly useful for a lot of people
As an Android user, I don't think so. Yeah, it's annoying to see Apple's tag ecosystem. To be honest, it's the only Apple feature I would want on my Android. And because it's so useful, I don't think there's any reason why Jon should not talk about airtags just because Android users can't use them. In fact, the more Android users get annoyed at not being able to use airtags, the more they'll complain, and maybe sooner or later Google sets up some sort of open source or open hardware standard for airtags usable on all phones.
I appreciate this is not for Android users - but it is a great item - and not everything suits everybody - I include chapters so it makes it easy to skip
