Lumberjack Tools 20v Cordless Jigsaw Review

I recently upgraded from a cheap corded jigsaw to a better (but still well priced) cordless jigsaw. This video is my review of the Lumberjack Tools 20v Cordless Jigsaw. I was given this tool free of charge for my honest unbiased review.

Hiya Ben. Nice channel.
Any particular reason you’re using a downcut blade? Most, & I mean almost all, are upcut. Downcuts are for working on the top of a finished surface, to stop it splintering out on the finish. They need way more downward force to keep the saw in contact with the material. And spit most of the chips away (under) the saw. Upcut chips come up, so they’re more likely to get extracted. Extraction still won’t be great, but… you can even make a zero clearance insert for a jigsaw with an Upcut blade..

Thanks mate. I did say that I’ve never really got on with jigsaws and maybe it’s because I’ve had the wrong blades! I generally have a very good knowledge of tools and have been using them for years and years but jigsaws have always eluded me. I’ve genuinely never noticed that there are down cut and up cut blades before. Pretty stupid of me really! 🤦‍♂️

@@lionandbear It’s all small steps, Ben. You can even get blades that aren’t as deep away from the teeth, so you can cut tighter curves. If YT would only allow photos in comments, I could nip out to the shed & show you. You’d see the differences straight away. Battery power is definitely the way to go. That Lumberjack gear seems pretty good. Is it all brushless, cos I’ve got all the bright green stuff, but mostly brushed. Wish the brushless was as cheap & available as it is in the states.

Sharing pics would be a good feature for sure but I don’t think it’ll happen. Turns out I have got up cutting blades too but because I use it so infrequently I always use the clean down cut one 😂🤦‍♂️ still fires out the wrong way for dust collection so at least my point wasn’t a complete dud.
The lumberjack tools are great tools for beginners and hobbyists for sure. They are brushed though however as you’d expect to pay much more for brushless tools. I’ve been really impressed with this jigsaw though and the nail gun is a great tool, especially for the price.
