    I hate the taste of ginger could I leave it out? Thanks for sharing 👍

    • @ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex
      @ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate I appreciate that,Yeah you can leave the ginger out if you want, when everything is combined together you don’t really taste it , it would be wrong if did , The idea is to balance out the flavour with everything else so that you don’t actually taste the ginger. Garlic and ginger for example is used in an Indian curry’s but essential for taste. Best to leave it out if your not sure , cheers pal 👍

    fantastic again alex. can I ask a question where do you buy your lucky boat noodles

    • @ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex
      @ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Colin, sometimes they split the larger boxes they have into affordable bags , they are not always available so sometimes I have to find an alternative. I could buy the larger boxes but would take me a good few years to go through them, there must be a about hundred nest in each box. They only cost about £18 , I might buy a box someday, cheers Colin

      @@ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex as you will know Alex , Seewoo used to sell them in wee bags , now i just use the Lion Brand noodles from Mathews, it's either 3 or 4 nests in the poly bag.
      Like yourself , a box of Lucky Boat would be way too many for me.

      Just a quick one Alex. I know cornflour is cheaper than potato starch but do you think it makes any difference.

    • @ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex
      @ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Takeaways prefer it because it stays crispy indefinitely compared to cornflour. Cornflour eventually will absorb the oil and become soggy,potato starch also provides a smoother batter and you can definitely see the difference. What it means Philip when customers get their order the chicken will still be crispy, even in a sauce, nothing worse than soggy chicken, so basically Philip that’s the advantages. Cornflour or some may call it cornstarch which is the same thing is perfectly fine for home use. I can buy a massive bag ,there’s loads in it for next to nothing,I buy it in bulk so it is a lot cheaper, cheers Philip 👍

      @ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They also use cornflour but only used for slurry’s, they wouldn’t waste the potato starch for that but still does the same job.
