Bro the Grub armor set is the best tier 1 armor set. Each piece effect increases maximum stamina by 10, each piece gone down the sleek path increases the rate that stamina regenerates by 15%, and the set bonus deduces the time it takes for stamina to begin to regenerate by 10%. It is the greatest stamina based set in the whole game.

i tested this against the INF. BROOD and the koi set + rusty spear + fire ant shield killed her in 2:52 seconds. The other set i used was the fire ant set + toenail scimitar + fire and shield and got a time of 2:28.

I've never cared for most armor set bonuses. Nearly all of them suck. I beat everything using nearly the same gear. Marksman Hat, Bee Chest (replaced with Moth chest), and Aphid Slippers. Mix and match is better than a set in most cases.
I think the firefly head lamp is a little useful because the sleek version gives you plus bust harvesting speed which is great if you need to farm A LOT of pebbles like I do
Ok 1: the black ant armor can be broken when used with a certain food item. the black ant set reflects 50% of total damage back at the attacker. that said with the sour mutation maxed and a Omlant that adds another 50% reflection, and it's a reflecting damage instead of dealing damage. 2: the firefly headlamp makes a really bright spotlight when placed on a mannequin. its light range is farther then Omnidirectional lights like torches and sconces. which can help you see during a nighttime base defense. 3: the larva blade is considered a sword not a dagger by the game's code. So, it's a poison weapon that benefits from sword mutation instead of the dagger. 4: The mosquito weapons are great with paired with the Ladybug armor. which its set increases all healing. which also against things weak against stabbing like ants can let you tank a swarm. 5: the wasp armor can allow you to fire your bow more quickly that when paired with the boss wasp bow is nearly broken. because the boss bow lets you heal yourself and debuff (which includes bleed and poison) enemies near you when paired with the boss wasp hat and the apex predator mutation. I've watched a guy solo the Brood-mother using nothing but basic arrows and that combo. Other then that i can't argue most of them.
I was sooooo into life steal weapons for my first two playthroughs but it pretty much makes healing items irrelevant... Which got a little boring. I realized I'd literally never explored the smoothie maker after two playthroughs😂

To everyone who says these items are super useful: It’s important to consider other options when discussing efficiency. Sure, a mosquito needle is viable for lifesteal. But smoothies exist. It’s better to kill things faster so they don’t have as much time to damage you. Also, it’s not efficient in anyway to spend more time killing things. Just because the method you found works doesn’t make it great when compared to other methods. Sorry for getting philosophical, but a lot of people tend to get stubborn. I’m interested in seeing a ten minute IBM kill with the amazing mosquito needle and grub armor though.

Early on crafting a larva blade/sqwetoe needle is good for farming blademaster kills or just because you prefer those weapons till you can actually get a better weapon. Nobody is running around with the Mortal Blade when they just start the game especially on WOAH mode
I've maxed grub gear for running around collecting things where running is involved. I'm also using mannequins to make different scenes on various floors in my base. It's a good place to put all the gear you build for quest. If you'd be interested in a multi-player play thru I'd be down. As a stay at home dad I've got time.
I think the antlion great sword is good because you can get it quickly by ziplining to the sandbox at night and kill like 4 antlaions and duplicate their parts to make a antlion great sword that does quite good damage because at this stage you have a superduplicator chip and a lot of raw saience
The firefly helmet gives you a harvesting bonus on rock breaking and digging resources, coupled with rock breaker you can 1 hit most resources, particularly helpful underwater. The tunnel vision spotlight cone is annoying and disorienting in a fight scenario, and weirdly the light coverage gets eclipsed when shielding. A poor light source certainly, but the only accessible one for 2 handed or "both handed" builds. It's passable while harvesting and I keep it ready for the odd moment it's useful for light, but the harvesting bonus is quite significant. ✌️
Im not sure if you read the actual numbers of some of these sets, but there are a few hot takes in there. The first one is moldy blaster. It has the highest in game damage, but in niche situations. Its actually the best weapon for farming Ant Parts for shield repair/Termite parts for repair glue, and has the fastest clear times for each repected zone. At 125 damage per target with no cap, at 9 targets, you are already at a maxed out spear critting with the koi/ant shield debuffs, which is the highest damage you can get in game. Keep in mind this is spammable every 2 seconds, with no upgrades at all. You can't beat this damage without a ton of farming for materials and science to clone it a bunch. Believe it or no, 3 IBM kills for this damage output makes it much more efficient for what it can do. Even single taget, it also has pretty fast widow kill times, which is a bit impressive as the widow resists almost every in game damage there is. The moldy set is what makes this even faster/safer, with increased stuns/resistance being lowered/stacking damage buff from the set. So, like i said, wouldn't call it bad, niche would be a better term. If you don't like farming repair glue or cutting down grass/stems for large builds, then i wouldnt call these bad. This brings me to the last set, the Koi set. If you are unaware, the set with a fire ant shield and rusty spear currently holds the fastest clear time for the Infected Broodmother, especially after the fist build nerfs. It is actually used for the fastest kills in all bosses, and if you are good with perfect blocking. I wouldn't call that not worth by any means, as perfect blocking (or parrying) is a huge game mechanic and being rewarded for learning is bad by no means.

It feels like a lot of these are advice solely for people who play this game solo. The larva blade is super helpful with regaining health when you have other people who are taking agro as well, it balances out so nicely. I haven't played solo, so I don't know how terrible it is when taking on everything by yourself, but it's one of the best items for group fighting and it's really fast and takes little stamina.
@@nicholeramsdill6418 I never said it did? Having a quick weapon lets you give decent damage at a good rate and then with other players taking agro away from you. It allows you to take a second to regain health.
I play solo, and with a group. None of this info really felt useful. It was all a matter of oppinion, and that oppinion wasnt even very educated on the facts. Just read what the gear gave you, and called it bad, never said anything about how broken some of that stuff can be with the right mutations.
I disagree with some of these. Firstly would be the blaster of the moldy matriarch, undeniably the best weapon in the game and requires to kill the infected broodmother 3 times with average drops. If you use a good build you can kill any enemies in the upper yard in 3 seconds or less expect from the widow and the green shield bug which take around 15 seconds. The koi fish armor is the 2nd best armor in the game after the fire ant armor, its almost a guaranteed 20% damage increase to opponents and if used with blade master and the black ox burger, it can be incredible close range armor. Grub armor set is good with the blaster of the moldy matriarch, since it gives stamina increase and hyperstamina. The set of the moldy matriarch is also good if your using the blaster, since sleek gives you a 30% to deal 20% increased explosive damage, also it has a nice set bonus.

Multiple things like the Larva Blade or the Antlion Greatsword are good in begin and mid game. The Infected Broma can be made after 2 kills, you need on average 20 kills anyway for the gold card. It just gives the drops any use than rotting in a chest. Sorry but I don't get this video.
Most of these are valid, but I have to disagree with the koi Armor. Although it's a tier two light armor that doesn't offer much protection. It set bonuses makeup for that. Perfect blocks make you invincible as is as well as adding the full set bonus where you're able to weaken an enemies defense by 50% dealing more damage. Overall though, the rest are valid. good video 👍
I rush to make bone dagger, bone trident, and koi armor every run lol. Koi armor with parry master on can carry your whole run. Bone Dagger and trident are great for early game too super fast, can be boosted by mutations, and they can stun
@@BearOnEem try the Insect Axe with Chopper phase 3 early game with full Koi armor, it's great for killing literally anything due to you being able to put 2 defense nerfs on an insect making them take hella damage.

Holy hell 2 weapons in and I disagree with both lmao. The Antlion Greatsword is amazing even late game and the Rapiers are both awesome and my preferred stabbing weapons. I always keep a Tiger Mosquito Rapier and a Tick Macuahuitl on my character as two of my primary weapons. The Blaster of the Moldy Matriarch is also good it just takes getting used to. The Firefly Helmet is also extremely good for caving. Turning up gamma imo is cheating and that’s not the way I like to play just to make things easier. Along with that a torch is okay but you also have to sacrifice your shield in favor of it. I’d rather take the lamp over a torch. The one thing I will give you is the Bone Trident especially after 1.3.

The koi is for the parry blocking gods. Paired with a fire ant shield and a spear with javelineer it deals the most possible damage in the game. It kills the infected broodmother and widows extremely fast. They are push overs using this build.

Hardest boss in the game is destroyed by koi, fire ant shield, and a fresh rusty spear. The widow is also murdered by this setup.

I also use the bone trident, it was my main weapon. Its very nice to be able to 1 shot things in the pond when you have no combo.

You're overestimating Koi armor the only useful thing it has is Dazzling Reposte, and you need the full set just to use it.
i killed the infected broodmother twice and could make the bomb and make the helmer or pants porb even both with the bomb so idk why he said 10 times?

Agree with the koi set although it is catered to the "grounded pros" but there are better T2 sets such as the ladybug and the spider set.

Holy hell 2 weapons in and I disagree with both lmao. The Antlion Greatsword is amazing even late game and the Rapiers are both awesome and my preferred stabbing weapons. I always keep a Tiger Mosquito Rapier and a Tick Macuahuitl on my character as two of my primary weapons. The Blaster of the Moldy Matriarch is also good it just takes getting used to. The Firefly Helmet is also extremely good for caving. Turning up gamma imo is cheating and that’s not the way I like to play just to make things easier. Along with that a torch is okay but you also have to sacrifice your shield in favor of it. I’d rather take the lamp over a torch. The one thing I will give you is the Bone Trident especially after 1.3.

The blaster of the moldy matriarch and the set are end game ,they wasnt suposed to be good just fun and I only need 7 kills for the armor ,weapon and statue

Antlion Greatsword: Sometimes I forget it is a tier 3 weapon because of how bad it is
Mosquito Needle: It has lifesteal, but it sucks
Bone Trident: Expensive and pointless... technically it has three points though so...
Larva blade: it has poison, but is really bad. Rotting one is a good early game weapon though
Fire ant club: didnt even know this existed until I crafted it for my weapon wall

Any arrows: does anyone ever use these outside of challenge runs? I am serious and need answers.
Rounds: same as arrows but worse. I would ask you to do a challenge run with these but you cant build in boss arenas
Matriarch set: Just not worth it, and you are right, it is way too expensive.
Black ant set: Also sucks
Firefly headlamp: do you need a nightlight?
Wasp set: cool concept, but it sucks.
Bee set: just grab the rotten one if you really want to be special
Koi set: Why?
Grub: didnt even craft this till after i killed the wasp queen
I had to craft all of these for my trophy wall with all stuffed bugs, head mounts, armor, and weapons. I am mentally scarred.
So I made the head lamp and put it on a mannequin as a spot light for the cooler looking armor. 😂
The koi is for the parry blocking gods. Paired with a fire ant shield and a spear with javelineer it deals the most possible damage in the game. It kills the infected broodmother and widows extremely fast. They are push overs using this build.
@@sneakygoliath2568 I said why because i actually didnt know what it did. In early game i hated the pond and didnt like collecting scales so I skipped it. I later crafted it for my armor wall but have still never even put it on.
