Yeah did it twice now, rocket launcher and golden ar works pretty well. But first times I died a few times and the bushi oneshottet me every time when I went for my lost loot 😂
Large chest hasnt spawned once for me an i went here twice searched all 4 spots and the rest of the rig for 1hour each time and nothing idk whats going on
The oil rig defenses are useless in my experience, I have never been hit by them approaching or on the rig. I have a highly stacked attack based build (4 gobfin in my party with Jetragon) - I can kill everything very quickly using the assault rifle and shotgun, don't need anything else.
It took me 4 attempts to clear this place. I was lvl 52 on the 4th attempt and was still using gear from the last lvl cap. Took me 35 minutes to clear out the place. Almost ran out of ammo and lost 2 pals. Approaching by water during the night really helped with getting in safely.
Heres a tip, the lasers shoot at ANY flyer. Best way to avoid lasers is to just swim as it will not shoot at you. Ive been usually taking a jormuntide up to the ladders. Its slower but by far more safer
technically speaking: jetragon is the most efficient way to get onto oil rig. otherwise you can just use any mountable water pal to swim there, climb the pillar and grapple up
The rocket launcher is literally cool. It makes sure you can deal damage from a very safe zone and destroys everything at once except for syndicate cleaners and crushers.
A trick I used was flying up high, and gliding after jumping off my pal before reaching the laser shooting distance. The max glider with 300 speed helps a lot with that
gotta say the strat to use jetragon to get on is interesting but it leaves very little flexibility for different entry point. if you use a water mount like jormuntide instead you no longer have to worry about the laser and you can so some quick scouting for the big chest without alerting anyone. there is 2 spot the chest can spawn that are visible from the water level using the blue glow the chest emits. the first that is visible is the one in the tent closest to the teleport point the glow will appear when you get close enough that everything else appears if it's there. the second you can spot is the one all the way in the back if it's there you will see a glow on the furthest corner pillar toward the inside. be careful however to not go under the platform with your mount since that can sett off the alert the bridge between the platform seems to be fine though. then you can go up the nearby stairs and see if it is the big room before reaching the top of said stairs from view you get from the hole in the floor. you also missed a lot of smaller chest which can give pretty solid amount of crude oil and other schematics. the first is in a bin in the alley behind the blue container that can have the big chest. the second is all the way in the back of the section behind the big tower with lots of turrets it's slightly hidden and guarded by a hunter. the third is guarded by a crusher on the bridge between the 2 main section but can be obtain through the wall from the back without triggering him. the forth is on the top floor of the section you are in at 11:40 in the back corner with a guard that frequently comes after you before you reach it. the fifth is in a container at the end of the bridge you look at at 13:17 it has no guard and can be take though the wall of the container like the other. the sixth one is trickier since it sits right at the top of the big tower in the middle so you will most likely need to take down all the laser turret along the way to be able to fly to it or climb up in some other way. on the plus side if you take down all the laser turret you can easily fly out.
The lazers will only target airborn pals, so any Pal used that isn't flying, be it Azurobe (which I think is the best choice), a non-airborn Frostallion, or even something like a Direhowl won't trigger them.
Also, be careful around the closed cargo containers. They are hollow on the inside, and an enemy Pal pushed me into it. If you get pushed in, you can not escape and have to respawn.
I went to the rig using my felaris first and got hit with the laser, used my surfent for the next ride and I was able to reach the rig without issues, but all the thugs are lvl 55 and fucked me up in one shot, I am level 49 for your reference
It doesn't matter what flying Mount you use because if you fly to a certain height the lasers can't touch you because they fire at a particular angle and cannot elevate any further beyond that angle. But in the back left corner where one of the lasers are it can shoot inside of the building so you have to be careful with that one. And if you don't have any keys you can always bring the chest pal instead of lockpicks. Another thing to note is all of the barrels that you see littered around the area can be shot and they will explode.
I found out the hard way that you can be killed while using the homeward thundercloud during the warmup animation sequence, so be sure to be out of sight when using it.
I did it yesterday. It was a complete waste of time. I got a whopping 35 oil, no new schematics & like 12,500 gold. Took half an hour. I’d produced the same amount of oil in the same time i was gone. Lame af.
I find the easiest way to get to it, if yoy dont have a Jetragon, is using a grappling hook to build momentum and then glide with Hangyu to get there without activating lasers but still being quick
Just use a water base creature to swim to the oil rig but then using Jetragon was quicker, but yea I use either a surfent or a jormantide and swim across, and well my weaponry consists of rocket launcher and the assault rifle, trying to get the minigun as a legendary bp before I craft it
i wonder if that new chest pal breed for damage and the poison rain ability could be realy good for this since grouping would do good damage with that ability and it unlocks chests for free.
I assaulted the oil rig with a sword and pal metal armor. I’d say I did fairly well…until my sword broke. Which didn’t happen until I was about halfway done. And since I didn’t want to waste my ammo(I don’t have that much yet) I just left. I think it was a decent test run.
Quick tip for everyone. If you don't have Bellanoir, they gave normal Blazamut a new move that is an insanely strong aoe move so now he has 3 AOE moves I think lol
I've used Jormuntide and I had no problems to reach the rig, while it killed my Faleris every time. But if you want to have fun raiding an oil rig, play Just Cause. I love Palword, but the oil rig is as boring as it can get, and it's evidence A of how stupid the AI is in modern gaming and Palworld. There was just no innovation for 15 years.
Some more tricks: you can get the guys grouped up around the orange barrels or the big red tanks, then shoot the tank/barrel, that's almost always an insta kill. There are quite a few guards that spawn next to barrels and tanks and you can take them out just by shooting the explosives. Also if you have low level pals that you want to level up fast the level 55 guards give crazy xp. close to 45k per kill, which is applied to your whole party. i've found that you can run the whole oil rig(killing all the guards) and get lvl47 on all the pals in your party starting at level 1. I use azurobe w/ swift to get out to the oil rig as it is undetected. and a legendary rocket launcher makes taking out the guards a breeze. it one hits most of them, and can do damage through walls, and you can usually take out multiple guards with one rocket if you get them grouped up.

I found that if you get on the edge by the stairs under that tent pointed out allot of the guards will get up against the rail and be easy but tedious picking with the sword
yes you can only tower/raid bosses are immune to pal spheres, but if i remember right if you kill the one that summoned them they die too but im not 100% on that. so its not a good idea to try to catch them as it would be way more work then its worth

Just "fly" with a pal that stays in the water, like Shadowbeak, Frostalion. The lasers will not hit you. Simple. No drama

If you have a legendary rocket launcher you can finish the oil rig at lvl 50 and best part is that your pals and you will lvl up like crazy.

You say every 3 in game days for it respawns but I've been breeding for 3 days and nights straight and I haven't had the chest respawn since Friday
I love using grenades, for these groups, takes seconds, grenades underrated in palworld

TIP: Breed your Galeclaw to have Swift, and then Enhance his gliding ability. It drastically increases the speed you glide at.
Swift doesn’t affect Galeclaw’s speed
