    Been watching a few videos like this, and I've finally realized that my backpack is simply too small for what I'm trying to make it do, haha.

      Haha! The only issue is the bigger your pack, the more you shove in it. 🤣

    I just keep it simple - Heavy items go lower & towards my back, day items - easily accessible, night items - less so. Packs these days have front access (like my grey 80ltr so I don't use an inner bag) as opposed to a rucksack (like my red 50ltr) design. Ps, I love your shirt, crocks & fridge... dragon slayer.

      Thanks Dave! Good tips, thanks. It’s great to see the specs sone packs have snd how versatile they are. The shirt’s new. I got a good deal on it. 😀 Happy tramping. 👍🏼

    Recently switched to Multiple 20L dry bags over the yellow bag (always carry tarp on hut trips), also my pack has bottom zip, so cram my rain coat in there after my pack is full, soaks up an wriggle room left. other then that keep to the same strategies...

    • @wildmountainman1
      @wildmountainman1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good points. I know some packs have like an internal dry bag which can help too. Thanks for watching.

      Glad you liked it Shane. It’s not an area I’ve tramped in much. What I’d suggest is phoning the local
      DOC office down there to get sone suggestions from them. Have a great time. 😀

    Great video! I have an old 60L backpack I bought used and has been incredible reliable! But I want to change it since its already too old.
    Any recommendations for backpacks? Mine is cheap American Outback 50$ and I would want some very durable like this one doesn't matter the price!

      Hi there. Thanks for watching my vid. I live in New Zealand, so Macpac are my pack of choice. However, I know that my friends like Osprey, Black Diamond and anything that’s quality and light. Happy shopping.

    5:10 if you've got some other phenomenal tips, which I'm sure you do ...
    No just another bag for the fly sheet so when that gets wet you can separate it from the inner.
    Thanks again 👍
