Erasure probably one of the most underrated groups of all time. Several people have covered this track but none of them were a patch on this. Erasure are still together and selling out concepts 34 years later! A great British group to be proud of. I think the mythical land also made a blip in the 90s with Kylie and Jason, though Danii flopped in my timezone :-D PS: Emojiis don't show to me, hence the smilies in my past, atleast those don't show as a rectangle.

Their album 'The Innocents' sustained me through some of the darkest days of my early twenties. This song from that record is SUBLIME. What Vince Clarke doesn't know about synthesisers isn't worth knowing. Perfection.
@UsedCondomCollector Which sounds so 80s. as good as theses songs are they you can easily hear what decade it came from.. doesn't get much more 80s than this.
Theres something soo different about 80's music... its not my favourite decade of music but its definitely aged well. It still sounds soo fresh and smooth like every beat just blends perfectly. Love it.
Back then, the music industry cared more about record sales than concert promotion and image. This meant that music needed to be very rhythmically pleasing. Many artists in the 80s in particular used a winning formula.
I agree. Music from the 1980's aged well. Actually, I thought it wouldn't since I was also there on the disco scene in the 1970's and thought at the time it would be very hard to replace disco. I had almost the same amount of fun in the 80's, but I was also older...
Sixty one years old, metalhead since as far back as i can remember. But my God, sometimes a track like this just stops you in your tracks. What an incredible voice. 👏 😂

Amazing live in concert! Such an amazing experience.. Apologies in advice but if you’d like to a listen to a story feel free.. My mother has always been a fan of Erasure. When we heard they were in Newcastle UK, they had already sold out as I was late to hear.. I felt awful not being able to get tickets as my Mum was in the middle of having radiotherapy for a brain tumour.. so as a last resort we stood outside to see if we could buy a couple of tickets. We managed to get two! We went to queue up and ecstatic we were seeing them however we were in totally different ends of the city hall. One ticket was right at the front..the other at the back. Needless to say who go the front ticket. Just before they came on my Mum called and said you’re not going to believe this.. The seat next to her at the front was free as someone was unable to go! So I managed to get to sit next to her after pleading with the steward to do so! What a night.. Mum is in remission now and still enjoying Erasure.. 😬😬😬

Its taken me 30 years to finally find other humans that appreciate Erasure, better late than never.
Then you must live in some far off nether world as there are many humans who like Erasure.

@@Dermacrosis Pretty spot on there. Australia! 😂
@@ES-aussie68 Damn that is one far off netherworld stuck in the past, I am guessing 70s ;-)~
I think I have heard of that strange land it entered my consciousness in the 80s, in my time zone, with "Men At Work" (god I am old :-D). I think the mythical land also made a blip in the 90s with Kylie and Jason, though Danii flopped in my timezone :-D
PS: Emojiis don't show to me, hence the smilies in my past, atleast those don't show as a rectangle.
@@Dermacrosis Hahaha Yes, Erasure wasn't a big sensation in Australia, hence my remark. I have to confess to being a bit of a Kylie fan in the 80's, crazy hair and crazy clothes make me more than happy I didn't grow up in the age of social media!! Thankful for 80's music though!!
I am teleported back to being a kid in the 80's when i hear this song. Its an undeniable masterpiece. ❤
yepp, same here!!! makes my heart dance 💞

Their album 'The Innocents' sustained me through some of the darkest days of my early twenties. This song from that record is SUBLIME. What Vince Clarke doesn't know about synthesisers isn't worth knowing. Perfection.

80s music never ages. Sounds as fresh as it did when it was originally released.
Emergency Teds absolutely!
In some ways even more fresh since modern "pop" is mostly garbage cookie-cutter template crap!
Yaasss
nah,, it's sounds so 80s too me
@UsedCondomCollector Which sounds so 80s. as good as theses songs are they you can easily hear what decade it came from.. doesn't get much more 80s than this.
I feel the same chills and joy in my heart when I heard this song for the first time, and it's been 40 years, I will love this song forever!
That’s an amazing story ♥️
@@robg4512 thank you ❤️❤️
passei por situação bem parecida... lembrava apenas do "i hear you calling"
@@nadjacp Eu tinha a parte "give a little respect to me", mas não eram nem palavras formadas, praticamente impossível de achar 😂
Caaara...

@@ghostpuppet31 Yep....They also were more focused on the product.
80s is cocaine
I agree. Music from the 1980's aged well. Actually, I thought it wouldn't since I was also there on the disco scene in the 1970's and thought at the time it would be very hard to replace disco. I had almost the same amount of fun in the 80's, but I was also older...
This song is peaceful, brilliant and has so much energy.
Music is medicine.
It definitely is
So true. It really should be prescribed by doctors.
Glad to see Andy and Vince are still going, these guys were the soundtrack to my youth 😊
Sixty one years old, metalhead since as far back as i can remember. But my God, sometimes a track like this just stops you in your tracks. What an incredible voice. 👏 😂
I used to live in Houston, saw them in concert at the Woodlands, was so awesome. Lol our dates were A &M guys, didn't realize they were gay, they were wearing pink too toos 😂😊, didn't matter music was awesome 😊

The most literal video in the history of videos❤️
saw Erasure Live at NEC birmingham in the 80`s they were brilliant, sounded just like listening to their records, no croaky vocals from Andy and vince`s performance was stunning.Proper feel good music.

Nice!
