It's like meeting an old dear friend. It's been in the back of your brain all this time, waiting to be rediscovered. For me, this song haunted me for almost twenty years. I had the melody, and I remembered elements of the music video, but I didn't have something to search for. One day, I finally found it, and it was cathartic.
This is the first song, in many years, that just made me burst out crying for just the sheer amount of feels it brought back. Seriously. I'm typing this with red eyes. GG Erasure.
Some bands stood out from the rest, for us it was Depeche Mode and Erasure. Loved those two the most, out of all the 80s music. I don't think either could even do any song that was bad or even mediocre. Combined with beautiful music and voices, Erasure has created an amazing sound and this song is just so good, as all of their music is. So uplifting and so filled with great memories of that time period.
The first time I heard it on the radio in 1994, I went out and bought the album on cassette format. I still have it. 1994 was a great year in music. The fact that this remains my favorite song of that year just speaks to how much I love this song. To be 16 again!! ❤
my dad's favorite song, well, at least that's what I think, he died 33 days ago (July 23, 2023), he lived without hate, cared for everyone and would help anyone without asking for anything in return. Though your life was short dad, I know your 47 years in this world was well worth it, I'll never forget the love you gave me as your son, I hope you're enjoying your time in the afterlife with your sister and mom (my grandma and aunt). I look forward to meeting you again someday.
I remember listening to this song a while back when I was like 6 and I’ve been looking for 8 years and finally found it😃😌. I distinctly remember being in the bathroom of ABC pediatrics almost a decade ago before it moved over near ikea and my mom was playing this song and I thought it said “and we go hoppity hoppity always” and she laughed and said something like “no it said harmony”. Ever since I remember the part of the song that says “ I wanna be with you and make believe with you and live in harmony harmony always” and I’ve been wanting to find it. I miss those times 😞.
I get super depressed. Im talking ultra dark and when I feel myself slipping into the depths of my depression this music video is always my go-to. Vanquish the demon and cling to the light.
I have been in this situation many times and there is always... music or a song that can help us through. Stay strong 💪🏽 we all get like that your not alone 🙌🏽
I love their 80's songs then suddenly at the age of 20 I found myself buying this new amazing album I say I say I say, however there's no punch line, just some truly amazing songs.
Remember listening to this song maybe once or twice on MTV when it came out and it left such a big impact the melody and video was with me for all this time, haunting me, without knowing the name of the song. Then 15 years later I finally found it by accident and I could finally make peace with this yearning of not knowing.
hehe, this is really a very controversal song i think. at least it has impact. i am finding absolutely hypnotic. or mind blowing.the song is pleasant in a very strange way i think which is going back to see basics in a another way. okokok. i like it. i admit it.xD

Seen it on TV back in 1994, had it on an cassette tape compilation in 90s too and lost it around 2003. Then the other day I hear it on a radio while preparing a dinner and looked it up now, so here I am. Also pretty sure hear in movies and some games too through the years, no clue in which ones tho but this song pops up here and there, creeping up on me. Well now I saved it into a playlist and surely wont go away.

I've always had the fake memory of this being the ending of The Neverending Story 2, lol. Thank god I've found the source! Such an amazing group.
Andy's voice slays ... I've always wanted to love someone like he's singing about...😢
Lyrics:
Open your eyes, I see
Your eyes are open
Wear no disguise for me
Come into the open
When it's cold (when it's cold)
Outside (outside)
Am I here in vain?
Hold on to the night
There will be no shame
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you
And live in harmony, harmony, oh love
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you
And live in harmony, harmony, oh love
Always
Melting the ice for me
Jump into the ocean
Hold back the tide, I see
Your love in motion
When it's cold (when it's cold)
Outside (outside)
Am I here in vain?
Hold on to the night
There will be no shame
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you (always)
And live in harmony, harmony, oh love
Always, I wanna be with you (always)
And make believe with you (always)
And live in harmony, harmony, oh love
When it's cold (when it's cold)
Outside (outside)
Am I here in vain?
Hold on (when it's cold in the night)
To the night (where the new love grows)
There will be no shame (no shame)
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you
And live in harmony
Harmony, oh love (the leaves are falling down)
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you
And live in harmony, harmony, oh love
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you
And live in harmony
Harmony, oh love (all the leaves are falling down)
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you
And live in harmony, harmony, oh love
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you
And live in harmony
Harmony, oh love (all the leaves are falling down)
Always, I wanna be with you
And make believe with you
that must be so hard
🙂☺😙😚
Thanks

This beautiful song
A L W A Y S
reminds me of times, when there was really great music!!! 🎶💖🎶
His voice is sooooo beautiful!!
Evokes strong memories of MTV(India) period of the '90s.I was a teenager then & now in my 44th year, the days seem so fresh in my mind.
yes , those were the days
This is a beautiful song. Erasure are so underrated.
The synths and beat are sick but Andy Bell sounds a lot like Tiny Tim.
@@athena854 Blesphamy!
They are not underrated at all
..they are just listened to by special people that's all.
No there not. They're just not meant for everyone.
how is 50 million views on this single alone (its not even their most popular song) underrated?
Wow ... all these years I had forgotten about this song
Same here! XD
Robot Unicorn Attack made it unforgettable.
Somehow sounds even better now.
GG Erasure.
Aye... Brings back some beautiful memories....

Lovely video, displaying snowing in a japanese scenery and the crystal ball as a recurrent theme.
After 5 fucking years, i finnaly remembered the name of this song....
stephanos jacobsen me too
stefanos jacobson: next time you better ask somebody. JAJA
Same thing happened to me... I spent months trying to remember!
Yes the text. But I´m sure you ever remember the melody or not?
This is true !! Xaxa
Vince Clarke did an outstanding arrangment here. Amazing sounds.
This song has been haunting me for years lol. When I see the clip tonight, wow this is a genius piece of music. Simply awesome !

So true ❤❤

Alot of respect for these guys. Always uplifting and well composed music. Real music. Thanks erasure xxxx
Definitely 😊
Fully electronic song. Timeless and I'm still in awe since the 90s.
This has to be one of the best songs ever made 🌟💫🤩
Erasure
Live in harmony. We all get it. Beautiful song.
Great comment 👍👍👍 !!!
Beautiful song. 👌💚

Good music is where it's at. you get it. ☮️🎶

Both with the legendary ultra silent Vince Clarke!
Do not forget Yazoo, even though the band did not last long, you must admit that Vince and Alison have done a great job.
@@robyjacker absolutely and without a doubt. I look at erasure as extension of Yazoo.
Agree. Duran Duran, Meatloaf were alsomy favs. Love from India.
This single was the first CD 💿 I ever bought. Boy do I miss the 90’s.

Me too....years go by. But the music you used to listen and love have always come back, somehow. Weird, isnt it?.

My dad passed away in 2022 and left a similar mark. Hugs 💔
Rest well pops much love gangy truly had great taste 🎉
Плохой человек эту музыку слушать не будет. Значит хороший был ваш папа.

Amazing.
Vince Clarke is a genius.
Andy Bell is a king.
That is so fucking adorable
I miss as well those times😢🥺😢
Beautiful. Not just a song but a Chinese electro-opera
I had this and the Prayer, Andrea Bocelli, played at my wedding, it was really moving and everyone loved it! Fabulous songs...absolutely wonderful
Excellent choice!
Absolute pop perfection - it simply doesn't get any getter than this.....
The Blissful Zombie, but he's right dude
i absolutely loved MTV back in the days when they were playing music like this
The rot set in from 1997 onwards.
Agree with you there! MTV sucks now.
Erasure where pure gold loved listening to them on tape as a kid brilliant voices ❤
Gracias Illuminatus :)
I get super depressed. Im talking ultra dark and when I feel myself slipping into the depths of my depression this music video is always my go-to. Vanquish the demon and cling to the light.
Stay strong! May this video always bring you to a place of peace. Take care!

I have been in this situation many times and there is always... music or a song that can help us through. Stay strong 💪🏽 we all get like that your not alone 🙌🏽

And hopefully still playing robot unicorn attack?
Always we will be with them and listen in harmony harmony.
I love their 80's songs then suddenly at the age of 20 I found myself buying this new amazing album I say I say I say, however there's no punch line, just some truly amazing songs.

sorry, no top-comment this time with this turn.
Amen
Remember listening to this song maybe once or twice on MTV when it came out and it left such a big impact the melody and video was with me for all this time, haunting me, without knowing the name of the song. Then 15 years later I finally found it by accident and I could finally make peace with this yearning
of not knowing.
hehe, this is really a very controversal song i think. at least it has impact. i am finding absolutely hypnotic. or mind blowing.the song is pleasant in a very strange way i think which is going back to see basics in a another way. okokok. i like it. i admit it.xD
same here
Got similar feeling about it. Well said.
Dude, I totally get that feeling, even though it's with other songs. I must have heard this song on the radio when I was little, because I didn't even remember that I know this song until I stumbled upon a cover of it :O
I'm 17 years old. I remember that song when I was little, my parents listened a lot. I found this again recently. I love it!
Thats probably because they are my age (I'm 39) and I remember this song from my childhood. Brings back good memories.
Me exactly too :D
I'm 30 and can say the same thing tbh)
Always:)
My exwife and I took our daughter to see them in concert. She loved the music.

As a child i was completely captivated by this song and video!
Отличный ремастер - все так четко, цвета яркие, звук громкий, не глухой. А я смотрел этот клип по черно-белому телевизору с помехами и глухим звуком. Вот время то сейчас - только наслаждаться жизнью!
I think this is ERASURE´s best track ever! Just my opinion! U may differ

1993 maybe?
yo al escuchar esta pieza de melodía creí, pensé, que era de 1998 y en ese año esta acción volvióo hacer popular, y que pieza de canción para su época
brilliant, i love it. so many good memories.
I actually don't think I've heard this for at least 25 years it's taking me right back
Wow. I had it on mp3

OMG!!!! I finally found this song!!! I was I think 7 or 8 years old when this song was in top charts and I fell in love with it! I would watch Mtv and wait for it to come on so I could dance around the room 😂 Then yesterday we had Pride radio station play at work and this same song came on and I swear I almost had a heart attack( in a good way) Mind you... I was born in Eastern EU and I spoke zero english when this song was at the top charts so I never knew the words or the band or anything about it. Except after yesterday ( 29 years later) hearing it on the radio I went on the mission to find it here on youtube and after some digging I did!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Brings me so much joy!!!!

Another masterpiece of a song from Erasure! Whenever I hear Erasure, I think of Savage Garden and vice versa. They both have a very similar melodic sound with a lot of synthesizer. Fantastic.
