My Dad loves the Pet Shop Boys. He's 76 this year. In an argument once, I asked him what he really wanted in life. He said all he wanted to do was sit in his own house and listen to Pet Shop Boys at 3 in the morning with a glass of Port. He played this one in the car once so loud the vehicle was vibrating and he was shouting the lyrics at the top of his voice, windows open going 70 down the motorway. I love my Dad.
Now HE sounds like an awesome dad. My Dad didn't go that far, but he was always cool with listening to music I liked, even if he didn't like it. When I was a teenager (back in the 90s) we'd be driving down the highway with Slayer going at top volume, and he'd at least act like he was having fun. I think he was in some ways, because he was spending time with his son, and I think that is what was important to him really.
Best way to start 2024 is to go back to the sheer joy of having lived in the days when songs like this one were given to us! Thank you, love and light to everyone out there relishing this as well!

One of the first songs by Petshop Boys that I heard. After West End Girls, this was the second one I heard. Yes, I remember, because everything about the 80s was the music and great entertainment. This group made so many memories for me, my personal life, loved them then and love their music still. Makes me remember things, nostalgic feeling and great feeling it is. Time to go back and revisit it through music over and over. Thank you for great memories.

with how shitty the protagonist looks like it's probably going to be insufferable woke nonesense no matter how good the actual gameplay will be. but hey, at least they gave attention to this awsome song
I have always loved pet shop boys even when I was a headbanger. I'm 48 years old and I still jam them. His voice takes me to a place above the earth. A place where I can just see highlights of the past flashing from scene to scene in my mind. It's beautiful and I love it. Thank you pet shop boys
This song meant so much to me when I was coming out in Denver Colorado in 1990. Let me tell you the lyrics and powerful composition of this track blasting in my car as I drove over icy streets and highways to the bars and warehouses housing the dance clubs in parts of town that nobody would be caught dead in helped me get through this period.
I was 17 in 1987 when this was number 1 for 16 weeks, when that meant something. Flying around on my Yamaha RD125lc all summer long, this song defines the best year of my life.
@@jterhodes yeah I had a red and white mk3 and crashed it at 75 went over the handlebars nearly killed myself. Ruined the bike completely. I’m still not over losing that bike 34 years later! I was 17 and I was flat out everywhere and as slow as possible posing in towns lol 🤣
Sitting here, on the laptop with my earphones. I close my eyes and I am, in my mind, immediately back in the 80s on my cassette walkman. Good times; the best.

When I look back upon my life
It's always with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin
At school they taught me how to be
So pure in thought and word and deed
They didn't quite succeed
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin
Father, forgive me, I tried not to do it
Turned over a new leaf, then tore right through it
Whatever you taught me, I didn't believe it
Father, you fought me, 'cause I didn't care
And I still don't understand
So I look back upon my life
Forever with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to - it's a sin

One of the first songs by Petshop Boys that I heard. After West End Girls, this was the second one I heard. Yes, I remember, because everything about the 80s was the music and great entertainment. This group made so many memories for me, my personal life, loved them then and love their music still. Makes me remember things, nostalgic feeling and great feeling it is. Time to go back and revisit it through music over and over. Thank you for great memories.
They were nostalgic then, O always felt there music and lyrics in my guts, they really are timeless.
The 80s were the best years for me!

Very true. Glad my teens started mid 80s. Great time for music.
My favourite Pet Shop Boys song!!!
Never heard of this before hearing it in the Intergalactic trailer and knew I had to look it up. The 80s had some pretty good songs.
A masterpiece, an anthem.
My father's favourite song. He used to jam this back in his hey days. Still jams to it even to this day. Love you daddy ❤❤
One of these great 80's songs that never gets old. One of my favorites

Who else has binged watched the TV show "It's a sin" and can't stop watching it and listening to this song?
Dude me, it was so damn good!

Me loved the show broke my heart
Me.
It was actually this comment that made me watch it... Best thing I've watched it a long time.
When I look back upon my life
it’s always with a sense of shame
I’ve always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
no matter when or where or who
has one thing in common too
It’s a, it’s a, it’s a, it’s a sin
It’s a sin
Everything I’ve ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I’ve ever been
Everywhere I’m going to
It’s a sin
At school they taught me how to be
so pure in thought and word and deed
They didn’t quite succeed
For everything I long to do
no matter when or where or who
has one thing in common too
It’s a, it’s a, it’s a, it’s a sin
It’s a sin
Everything I’ve ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I’ve ever been
Everywhere I’m going to
It’s a sin
Father forgive me
I tried not to do it
Turned over a new leaf
then tore right through it
Whatever you taught me
I didn’t believe it
Father you fought me
‘cause I didn’t care
and I still don’t understand
So I look back upon my life
forever with a sense of shame
I’ve always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
no matter when or where or who
has one thing in common too
It’s a, it’s a, it’s a, it’s a sin
It’s a sin
Everything I’ve ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I’ve ever been
Everywhere I’m going to I
It’s a sin

I don’t know how Intergalactic will be as a game. But I love this song.
with how shitty the protagonist looks like it's probably going to be insufferable woke nonesense no matter how good the actual gameplay will be.

I have always loved pet shop boys even when I was a headbanger. I'm 48 years old and I still jam them. His voice takes me to a place above the earth. A place where I can just see highlights of the past flashing from scene to scene in my mind. It's beautiful and I love it. Thank you pet shop boys
Same! I'm 47 and right there with you.
Fist time i see the video.

Was it Colfax then as in 2000's too?
I’m glad you got through it
No. It was where Coors field is now standing. I did go to a few places on Colfax as well.
Thank you. Appreciate it.
