I personally believe ppl only do that bc they are lazy af and don't feel like taking the hour+ time it takes to actually make a decent looking character 😅 so they just go for the easier option of hideously disgusting lol
I didn't get into playing the Fallout games until Fallout 3, but I remember as a little kid looking at the Mac Mall magazines that were delivered to us and seeing the ONE page of games for Mac in there and Fallout being among the few. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I'm sure glad I found out later.
This looks pretty awesome so far. Makes me wish for an official 1+2 remake where the first half of the game you play as the original vault dweller then the later half you play as their decendant and your actions in the first half affect the second, for instance positive and negative stats and traits could be passed down, faction reputation standing could be effected, locations could be built up or destroyed, etc.
It's only a demo with a handful of Fallout 1 locations and no voice acting but so far, it looks great and it's really well adapted from the original game.
Ohh snap I thought you were gonna be a gangster and play the actual original. Fallout 1,2 and Tactics are the true Fallout games to me. Dark Comedy top tier, best music and voice actors, the theme is perfect. Best part is you actually have to use your brain.
You definitely never wanted the Outdoorsman perk, in the original version, until you actually reached Junktown, because it was really hard to make enough money without random encounters along the way, early game.

Interesting mod. I´ve seen a few mods for New Vegas that tried to recreate Fallout 1 before, but none of them got finished. I hope this one will. But I am now on Fallout London, that will take a while to complete too, so it can wait.
I was thinking that one thing they couldn't replicate from 1 and 2 was when you would just stumble across a surreal scene in the middle of the desert, but I guess some prefer fast-traveling after seeing a place a lot, and that's when they could load a new spot on an existing piece of land and have you arrive there, somewhere in between your start point and where you're trying to go. Seems a bit game-ish though. Great to see someone trying this, thanks for taking a look :)
So far I thought dialogs are same as Fallout 1. But not exactly. In Fallout 1 low IN character who wants go to radscorpion cave says Scorpin!, not Cave (but have to admit, Cave have much more clear meaning.) That's actually same as in Fallout 1. Low IN character did not get quest to kill scorpions till he start doing it. And same is also the message about a weak wall (but almost nobody check walls in Fallout 1 as you need to have to switch cursor from movement to explore). Message show the place where you can use dynamite to blow up entrance to cave.
There has been a mod for climbable ropes and ladders for F4 for awhile, Fallout:London is using it so I can't imagine they would leave out the "make sure you have rope" to enter Vault
It always cracks me up when you get a third person vats view of someone swinging a weapon two yards away from a monster which spontaneously drops dead. I wonder what it is about the animations that's too difficult to do. Maybe just the sheer number of them?

I can’t wait until the full game is done. Also, there are gonna be different regions you travel to, like fallout 1. The regions are open world tho.

I love the atmosphere and story of FO1 and FO2, but the gameplay is just rough AF. It just a slog to me. This fixes a lot of that for me.
Personally i think mods are silly. I avoid them like the plague.
On the contrary theres more effort in a mod than most modern games
