Classicube is basically a whole clean room re-implementation of Minecraft Classic 0.30, it's client is 100% compatible with the servers of that version (there's a server on it that has been running for more than 10 years iirc) and so you can make an argument that it is quite literally, undisputably, Minecraft.
It is indisputably similar at least! It does add a ton of backwards-compatibility-friendly features enabled via clever protocol negotiation, so your typical experience will be quite different.
5:20 Windows NT 3.51 is no way a version of Win3.1. It is completely different OS with completely different architecture etc. It has nothing in common with Win3.1 other than how it looks and feels.
Just thought I'd throw it in the video because it does have a similar name and feel, despite how different they truly are! It's the closest we can get to running Minecraft on "3.1" even if it's only possible to run ClassiCube on NT But thank you for clarifying! I did believe at first that NT 3.51 was connected to the original 3.1
you can pretty much do everything on WinNT 3.51 as you can on Win3.1. its just the backends are different, as you mentioned but you can run dos apps on WinNT 3.51
I found your channel because of "FNAF beta" video, and for some reason, i like your content very much, your voice, montage, it's just so enjoyable. thank you for your content and effort. thank you for making my workday a little bit better:)
nice video, but it's bad practice to stretch 4:3 to 16:9. it's not just ugly, it looks unnatural and not how it is supposed to be. black bars are preferable to a stretched image
Wide screen 16:9 and 16: 10 aspect ratio for DOS exist on newer graphic cards Geforce and Radeon with VBE 3 bios with 1920x1080x32 and 1920x1200x32 resolution for example.
also that aint guest additions. guest additions never supports 3d accelration at all below win2000 (expect for softgpu driver which is for win9x) i did it using some mesa dll that works on nt 3.51
You can just get the original 1993 version for DOS and run it from there, Windows 3.x is more DOS-based than the later versions that have a kernel that runs with DOS, but Windows 1.xx and 2.xx use almost all DOS. Optionally, you can also put Ultimate Doom's DOOM.WAD and run more Doom!
Because I opened Windows 3.1 in VirtualBox, and MS-DOS in DOSBox. Since I'm not used to messing with dos that much, it was easier for me to use them separately. And yes, I'm aware it isn't hard to learn how to do them both in the same program! I'll figure it out some day ;)
I know this is might just be for windows but I’m trying to install exe games on my phone, but it won’t work for me. Do you or anyone else know of a way to install this Minecraft or any other games on dosbox for RetroArch?
A bit off-topic, I noticed you put a specific renditions of Minecraft's music, which is from the PSX modpack. Now I wonder, have you ever planned to make a video about said modpack?
@@jktech2117 Actually, you theoretically could use a series of like 40 thousand abacus as a monitor screen using a robot built using something like Arduino to change it according to the pixels on the actual monitor (the non-abacus one). It would be one hell of a slow screen though.
That what notch said :
"You Can play Minecraft on Anything"
So can you play Minecraft in Windows 2.0 or 1.0 ??
@@OltScript313 maybe,
Considering Windows 1.0 and 2.0 were also based on dos, everything I said about the Minecraft dos port applies to them as well!
minecraft on nokia 6070
He didn't mention java compatibility though
Minecraft on DOS is so impressive... Usually you play games like Darklands on DOS but 3D sandbox games sound so crazy on DOS
If you think DOS is crazy check out GBA craft

@@classicube Oh hey it's you guys, classicube is an amazing project, keep it up!
It’s the version I most remember playing through IE8 on the school computers back in the day
Minecraft on C64
Minecraft on Atari
Minecraft on the Amiga
they did classicube on playstation 1 though
Why did I read that as Minecraft on c418
Minecraft on single transistor

what i would do to show this to a person back when windows 3.1 was around
he would think youre an alien
Man, I would love to see this continued to become something else entirely, well I mean, minecraft wise
We got Minecraft running in MS-DOS before GTA6

Yes, but that's your opinion.
@@FroztYcle4737your saying you think 4:3 being stretched across the screen to fit 16:9 actually looks good to you?

@@FroztYcle4737 No it's just better to not stretch 4:3 into a 16:9 image (unless the 4:3 image is made to be stretched).
How's the nostalgic experience hitting?
✏️ Am I annoying you guys from the win2k video? I'm sorry 😔🥺
Can't you run the dos minecraft in a windowed mode on Windows 3.1?
Next we need an amiga port
Snowman64's next video:
Can I play Minecraft on a Turing Machine?!??!?!
The reason the camera is like that is because it’s a virtual machine
Woah! Minecraft in 1992!
wtf i got mentioned?? also ur video popped up on my main account lmao
guys we discovered minecraft -1.0.0
So true my king snowman 🙏💯

but u still earned a sub congrats
classicue has a Dos port now
When you at work, you secretly install classicube in NT 3.51 💀
What’s next, running DOOM?

Running Minecraft is so much harder than running Doom. Doom is C with no libraries vs Minecraft which is Java with tons of libraries
@@theairaccumulator7144 i think.. it might be a joke. maybe.. especially considering doom is made for DOS.. hmmmm
what about unix
which UNIX tho

Sigma youtube video. :) :) >:)
Ogod the background music.
Next: Can you play Minecraft on Windows 1.01?
imagine having multiplayer servers work on this using TELNET or something
I can't get ClassiCube to run. I get an error with the open32.dll. Both that and glu32.dll are present.
ok but,
NT 3.1.
Minecraft on Gameboy Advance exists
God damn
I know this is might just be for windows but I’m trying to install exe games on my phone, but it won’t work for me. Do you or anyone else know of a way to install this Minecraft or any other games on dosbox for RetroArch?
Woah
Minecraft on a wristwatch
A bit off-topic, I noticed you put a specific renditions of Minecraft's music, which is from the PSX modpack. Now I wonder, have you ever planned to make a video about said modpack?
Already got a series on the modpack, made 3 episodes so far! It's quite interesting
I would call it doscraft, but not an Minecraft. It's not minecraft, so technically you didn't run mc on 3.1
it's Minecraft ported to DOS
ms dos next
if it can run java 8, it can run minecraft.
Technically it can run on Windows 98, as long as it's an older version. And even then it's not visable. Druaga1 made a video yeara ago about that
before i even clicked the video i said “no” because java doesn’t even have 3.x support
is minecraft gonna become the next doom
cero que es una version modificada de windows 3.1 para que pueda funcionar el minecraft
yay
Now play minecraft on templeOS
next: can you play Minecraft 1.21 without a kernel?
next: can you play minecraft on an abacus?

Minecraft on dos runs better than the ps4 version.
Do it on a intel 4004

Minecraft runs on Java. There's a Java VM that can run in Win3.1.
Since Java is open source, it is possible to port it to Windows 3.11.
But you took lazy way.
I runned Minecraft 1.8.8 , the real minecraft and not a Copy , I also played multiplayer
