Going to Thousand Trails Blue Mesa Recreation Ranch, Gunnison, CO, over Monarch Pass in SNOW!!

May 2024. In Colorado... We traveled to the Blue Mesa Campground after the Hwy 50 bridge closed, forcing a 6-hour detour over Monarch Pass with unexpected snow. We got stuck and were pulled to the summit, ready to wait it out. But the sun and snow plows made the road passable, so we did get off the mountain to the campground.
