That was one nasty wind you went through Jarl. I've heard of guys dumping a pot of hot water on those propane heater exhausts to get them cleared. Not sure if that would work with the Truma. It's times like that when you find out what works and what doesn't under severe conditions. I'm glad I watched this, I was considering the Truma for my build. I think I'll go with Webasto. How far up North were you?
The Truma is excellent, as long as you run it it will not clog up, I have used it every day for 4 months through the winter without any faults, and I was able to clear the clogging with a little screwdriver.
@@Roadghost88 Truma is the company that has set the "standards" for all other wanna be copycats. I believe Webasto requires Diesel whereas the Truma requires Electricity & or Propane.
I lived for 50 years in Michigan and for the past few years, I’ve been living in Tennessee. This might sound strange to people around here, but I miss the snow. I miss the snowstorms. There isn’t a better feeling in the world, to have the snow coming down, the wind whipping around, and being warm inside with a fire.
I’m from Chicago. But have live in North Carolina for a few years, and also lived in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. And have members of family in Michigan. I truly miss my snowstorms. I’m thinking of moving back up north. So I understand
I can relate to your feeling of your love for snow, I once lived in Colorado, a small town, where it snowed a lot. Compared to New Mexico living. I miss Colorado.❤
I love the snow. I grew up in while we had mostly ice storms and freezing rain but I love the snow. I’ve been out to Colorado and skied. I went to to Europe on a street ski vacation gone ice climbing I just love the snow and I love the cold and I love winter. That’s my favorite time sonothing sounds strange and I love the Norwegian explorer
These videos put me to sleep, and I live in the northern US state, where it's cold in the winter.. Thank the creator for natural gas and down comforters.. 😂😂
Wow, your winter van life adventures are absolutely captivating! Surviving blizzards, snow storms, and freezing temperatures while camping in your Fiat Ducato van is both thrilling and inspiring. The cozy feeling of the blizzards and snow storms you captured in HDR truly transports viewers into the heart of the Arctic wilderness. Keep sharing your incredible experiences, and stay warm out there! ❄️🚐🌬️
My heart rate goes up just watching this! I can't even imagine what it would be like to sit in that van with all that chaos going on outside. You are a brave man.
I don't think I've ever witnessed a snowstorm of this magnitude. The wind is violent. I love the sound of the wind. You just keep on keeping on. Your videography is incredible, black and white, naturally. I hope you are warm enough. Be safe!
I love hunkering down in inclement weather when you're prepared for it. Having the necessary tools, supplies, and shelter mean everything. You're only missing a dog for security and companionship.
You are blessed by God to have the privilege of going through a storm like that with all of your comforts. Absolutely awesome!! I’ve watched this 5 times already!
Jarl. We cant get rnough of the storms lol. Ill love it even more when we get to the rainy weather. Never a dull moment with you my friend thanks for always bringing us along.
You could be in a tent lol Best film yet . Pushing the envelope is fantastic. You have shore power. I hope maybe you upgrade your van to not need shore power . Be invincible. The footage is amazing. People in their warm beds are living adventures through you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I was so cold watching this. I was under my electric blanket, drinking hot coffee and it was 60°F (15.6° C) out. You have such an ability and talent to capture the feeling of actually being there with you. So glad I didn't have to shovel the snow. Thank you so much for the wonderful adventures you take us on. Stay safe in your travels. Mary
Loving the craziness Jarl. Must be amazing to be there experiencing it. Such severe wind. Mother nature is the boss. The sound is what amazes me the most. So awesome.🧊🧊❄❄
It is something about your videos that always have me ending up in bed under the covers with some hot chocolate . Thank you for letting us live vicariously on your adventures. 💜❤️💜
I love the snow!! Cabin area is beautiful. Although, I was concerned about your safety. When you were outside. The wind was so strong, I thought it was going to blow you away. Please stay safe!!❤
Growing up and living in northern Maine (USA), we get some very strong blizzards. During blizzards our small house shakes and groans, so being in a van during a particularly nasty blizzard must have been harrowing...AND FUN! The shaking and rocking would have put me right to sleep. Stay safe and keep the great videos coming.
I would love to be in one of them cabins in al that it would be great to see al the snow and hear all the wind rushing by while you're cosy and warm in cabin
You can certainly imagine how ANY tent would have managed in that weather. Personally, given how capable your van is (even when pushed to its limits), I would have loved that experience.
*What a Snow Hurricane you experienced in Norway ! 🇳🇴 Very imposing and impressive display of Mother nature. I'm glad you are at your family's cabin and not out by the side of the road somewhere far from any protection or cover from the direct impact of those hurrican force 1 winds !*
Grateful you, & your van, have remained safe thru more amazing weather conditions. Even tho you HAD to stay there for couple days, it is good to know just how sturdy your van is in these extreme conditions, is it not? Well, thank you for sharing your adventure of being "stranded"! The blizzard! The hurricane force winds! And then YOU got outside too! I think I could feel the sting of the wind on my face & the cold landscape all around! Your filming is captivating! Stay safe out there ! Thanks so much for sharing your adventures with us! I love going along.
Wow! Just amazing…I love the piece with you having dinner with a raging blizzard viewed through your window. Your Van is a true extreme weather champ. As always, stay safe my friend.

Awesome video. with hurricane force winds, not sure I would have stayed in the van, with a perfectly good cabin sitting right there, made it made for a great video, showing the force of nature. be safe, from a south Texas fan.
Being in touch with one's environment and weather conditions is a commendable way to live one's life. No television, no recorded music or radio gumming up the experience. We seem to have lost that direct connection with the world around us. Many of us remember that as children we did not need any electronic distraction to feel that we were alive. That is an enviable way to be. (Reminds me of my childhood, me lying on my bed -- looking out the window at a little humming bird sitting on her tiny nest. I felt privileged being able to observe nature closely.)
Hello from Canada. That's a nasty snow storm. Here I have seen winds of almost 140kmh which I believe is over 38m/s. That much wind is not normal here but I've seen it quite a few times. I drove a snow plow for many years and it's nice now to be able to enjoy winter a bit more.
Thank you for recording this for us to watch and mostly importantly please take great care in that very very bad weather many thanks may god bless you for recording it
Thank you for creating this video. Just came across your channel and that's great. Thank you for creating this and many other videos for others to experience it in some essence at least and pushing me towards getting a van and live the life. All the best to you on your journeys.
I was just thinking that I’m really glad you weren’t in your tent for this insane storm! Extremely awesome to watch though. As always, I’m grateful that you share with us.
Just descended from the warm mountains of your 5 hour journey through the wild west...😊 I immediately find myself in a storm of Jarl's new adventures... 😊
Hi, first, I want to give you my greatest respect, I also plan to live in the Van full-time in Oslo, and I still can not imagine what it will be like, the winter in Norway is brutal
What a great storm! Loved your video. We're in south Georgia and today, Halloween, I worked in my garden under brilliant sunshine, pristine blue skies, and in balmy temperatures reaching 78 degrees. I hate snow and ice. We have lived in Georgia for 26 years, and I can recall icy, dangerous roads exactly one time. One road closed, for about six hours, on a bridge over the Chatahoochee River.
Hello from Australia Norwegian Explorer you are a braver man than i am what a storm your van held up quite well during this storm so did you i really enjoy your video's i am new to you tube so i am feeling my way around thank you for the adventure and take care.
WOW…. what amazing storm! I’m glad i came across your video! I can’t imagine being in this extreme snow storm, you’re are amazing! Would love to see the cabin!
I love snow storms! And this was so cool!! How beautiful! And how nice to have a warm van to go back into after being out in the snow. I love avocado. That looked delicious! Thank you so very much!
Looking forward to your summer agenda videos 😎👍. Love the layout of your camper van. That is insanely wild snow weather conditions!! Thanks for letting us viewers experience it!
Uh. Yeah. W😮W ! The ultimate would’ve been to b n a cabin with a roaring fire. Bless the Grey Warrior. Where did the silver cover go that was on the grill ? It blow away ? It’s probably n Russia by now. Those burritos looked really good. I’ve got to try that. Thank u for filming this. I would’ve been laying n that back the whole time. But u just keep going for us. Till next time. 👍🙏❤️‼️🥶 TJ
Haha, yes this was something else! The cover on the grille I only use when it is very cold, it wasnt that cold during this storm, maybe minus 10c or 14f 🫶
I have watched hundreds of storm camping, snow camping, something like this. I have subscribed their channel, BUT this channel is the real deal for snow storm camping. The adrenaline is the same as when I watched tornado chaser van.
I worry about you, my dear Norwegian X, when the weather is so extreme. But I trust that van of yours to keep you safe!! Also coffee. Thanks for the adventure of arctic Norway. (In spring??)
Wow, that was intense. Add in heater failure and you have quite the experience. The Van shaking was extreme. You almost needed to take Dramamine for motion sickness. Lol. See ya on the next one.
Snowstorm? Oh geez, that is more like an artic blizzard crossed with a tornado. 😂😂😂 If I ever see a video where you are not about to get swept away, I will have to look twice. 😅😅😸✌️🇱🇷
Haha, yes it is much more than a snow storm indeed, maybe I should add Tornado to the title, or maybe people would say then «this is not a tornado», Thanks for the idea!
This is a really cool video, I love the sound of the wind blowing. Those buildings and electrical grid are well constructed to withstand that kind of weather. You are a smart and brave man. I think having coffee and burritos would be the best.
I remember the Blizzard of 78. I must have been about 11 years old. I lived in Rochester New Hampshire a small town called Barrington. It Shut down the schools for weeks. Snow drifts were over houses. The snow had closed down the Spalding turnpike in Rochester. The officials ask people with snowmobiles to help people that were stuck. I remember this like yesterday. And it was so exciting to me. I can remember being outside in it and I was so excited. Never once did I think I shouldn't be out here, I am testing my limit. No I was enjoying myself. You're in a van. A sturdy van and you're worried? The scenery is so beautiful up in Norway. You are so lucky to be experiences firsthand. I saw one of the other videos which I enjoyed. I'll have to go back and relook at it. This one I think silence can be golden. Hopefully the next one will be more captivating to me. Keep working on it
Live in Maine - we get storms like that about every 4-5 years. Usually lose power for a few days so hunker around the wood stove and sleep in the living room.
As long as you can keep your van warm, I love this. It’s cozy and I love the roar of the wind. It reminds me of _The Shining_ if you took out all the supernatural horror. You got a lot of small things to fix and tend to but it still looks pretty fun sometimes.
First time watching (5/22/24) I listen to heavy snow storm sounds for falling asleep... love your video...and yes definitely make some needed repairs for next time in a snow storm...stay safe and warm 💯
People remember to smash the like button, subscribe and turn on the notification bell plus go ahead and share with lots of people. Thank you all😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Man, how could you eat a tortilla with pesto, avocado, cheese, salad, cucumbers and an omelette? If you survived that, nothing will ever kill you. 😊
There's nothing better than being inside of something warm and windproof while it's terrible cold outside.
Very true, it is fun to be on the outside for a little while as well

Here's an idea. Keep a hand held hair dryer in your van. Next time you can use it to melt the ice. Works great on frozen pipes.

Haha, yes it is much more than a snow storm indeed, maybe I should add Tornado to the title, or maybe people would say then «this is not a tornado», Thanks for the idea!
it may be your worst but it's one of the best extreme weather condition van camping i watched
Thank you so much, I have a longer version coming out soon or in the fall:-)
This is a really cool video, I love the sound of the wind blowing. Those buildings and electrical grid are well constructed to withstand that kind of weather. You are a smart and brave man. I think having coffee and burritos would be the best.
Glad you enjoyed it Janet:-)
If you move to the cabin is more safe please I want answer thank you God bless you ❤️ from Dallas TX USA
Thank you for these amazing views of the severe snowstorm. In every episode you overcome your limits. Keep safe and keep going.
Thank you very much!

Wow Jarl! That was intense!! Those burritos looked awesome! Thanks for another adventure!
Thanks my friend!
Keep working on it
That was an incredible blizzard, I loved it.
Live in Maine - we get storms like that about every 4-5 years. Usually lose power for a few days so hunker around the wood stove and sleep in the living room.
We get a few every year
Every goof ball in a van in winter has nothing on you !!!! All Hail the King of Winter Storms on the road!!!! 😊
Haha, thank you so much! 🙏
As long as you can keep your van warm, I love this. It’s cozy and I love the roar of the wind. It reminds me of _The Shining_ if you took out all the supernatural horror. You got a lot of small things to fix and tend to but it still looks pretty fun sometimes.
So true!
I can't even imagine. I live in California and complain if it hit 60 outside 😅
Lol, I know, you some rain today as well?
Yes sir
@@Detroit12boi Good!
First time watching (5/22/24) I listen to heavy snow storm sounds for falling asleep... love your video...and yes definitely make some needed repairs for next time in a snow storm...stay safe and warm 💯
Awesome! Thank you and welcome Sheretta!
I was stuck in my van in Boston during the historical storm of 1978
