one of the very few videos on youtube about portable monitors that is actually useful! thank you!
Thank you for not putting bunch of eye straining light noises in the background. All these tech youtubers seem to know only that one kind of decoration.
This is the best portable monitor comparison video ever to be held by the internet. Thank you.
hi ! i would love if you made a updated video on your take on new screens since this one! this video was truly amazing!
Thank you so much for this video! I love the time stamps, i ended up watching the whole video and learned exactky the thing i needed to learn
I’ve sued the U-Perfect for almost 3 years now and it’s been really great all around. It won’t blow your mind or anything, but it’s very functional
why?
He means he have ‘USED’ the U-Perfect.
@@lawrenceyeung3381 yep, autocorrect
What model do you suggest?
Awesome recommendations
Great video. Thank you. My only suggestion is to add an additional category for refresh rate. It is important for users who play games or watch sports/action movies/etc.
Very informative! Thank you very much!
Thank you so much, it’s a very useful video.❤
Thanks! My first monitor was an orange monochrome Hercules display. I have been buying monitors for a long time. This is a whole new world with a lot of pitfalls.
For those tent style monitors where the stand doesn't go underneath, there is a cheap fix. I'm not sure what it is called. It's rubber non-slip stuff on a roll. It is meant to go on cupboard shelves and can be found in the kitchen section of Walmart or almost any dollar store. This is very handy to have around. It's good for placing under things on your desk that slide around, opening jars.... it's right up there with duct tape. And it's dirt cheap.
I bought a low cost 2nd computer with a good 14" OLED screen. It's bright, it's powered for hours on battery, the stand is great :), and hey it computes :)
Thanks for these useful recommendations.
Very useful. Can you do another one on 4K oled monitors with recommendations? Thanks
Very much appreciate all the information as someone not well versed in the technical details. Used your affiliate link
Thanks for your support. Really appreciate your help!
LG gram 16" is great with 99% DCI P3
do you use all 3 at the same time?
can your provide a link to the glossy portable monitor?
Do you have an affiliate link for Amazon Australia? Your video was excellent and I would like to support.
Unfortunately not. But thanks for thinking of supporting me 😄
How long is the portable monitor life that you have used so far? 1+ year still work normally? I notice some Chinese brands did not mention the monitor's lifetime and may not have a clear warranty statement, do you suggest getting a portable monitor from a well-branded product like Asus, Lenovo, or View sonic (with a clear warranty period but priced more expensive) or is also ok to get unclear / no brand from China? (maybe without warranty or only 1-3 months warranty but price much cheaper)?
The Uperfect 17-inch 4K has developed some lines after half a year. The seller offered me a small partial refund but the online platform I bought from offered full refund. The product was listed to have 1 year warranty. Definitely get from a reputable seller, retailer if you can.
Otherwise, just go with super cheap displays so that if they become faulty, you won't have wasted too much money. th-cam.com/video/0gpnZFnrYIA/w-d-xo.html
@@teohontech7141 What is the online platform that you use? I check in Jakarta, Uperfect also gives 1-year warranty (in the local Shopee advertisement) but I can not find where exactly their "service center address in Jakarta" :). When you say some lines occur, is it like vertical black lines visibly shown on the screen? Do you use it every day? I am still considering the options to get the Chinese product (with a bigger resolution, higher spec of nits, SRGB / NTSC, etc, and basically with a cheaper price) or the branded version with lower spec but clear warranty like View sonic VA1655 / VG1655 that gives 3 years panel, spare part & service warranty. For everyday use (to replace my laptop that has TN screen), do you recommend a Chinese version or branded version Sir? :) Any experience and suggestions will be appreciated. Price wise in Jakarta: The Uperfect is like 35% - 45% cheaper compared- to the price of View Sonic but I just worry I might not be as lucky as you that can get a full refund after half a year of using it :)
I bought mine from Lazada Singapore. I did not expect a full refund so I was incredibly lucky.
The lines on my Uperfect display are horizontal and located at the bottom (on the Windows taskbar) so it's not that distracting, but still distracting.
For the brands you recommended, CFOS & uPerfect, are they available in sg? And any local warranty / service centre here?
There's no local warranty. Even though some are listed with 1 year warranty but I doubt so because there's no service centre. So if you want to buy, might as well buy the cheapest one and if there's anything wrong, you won't have wasted too much money. The one that I recommend currently is this one www.parkablogs.com/content/generic-16-inch-25k-ips-lcd-display-us-150
@@teohontech7141 ok will check it out, thanks Teoh :)
Best portable display for 2022 is this th-cam.com/video/0gpnZFnrYIA/w-d-xo.html
And MacOS users should not buy 1440P portable displays
Did you mean to link to a specific timestamp?
@@thesevenpens Oops. I used the wrong link. It's supposed to be this. th-cam.com/video/0gpnZFnrYIA/w-d-xo.html
What is your opinion about zeuslap portable monitor please?
I have not used that before so I can’t say much
I just bought a $180 15.6" Portable Monitor (IPS HDR 19201080 FHD) with built-in speakers a 75x75 VESA mount, but I don't have a USB-C computer! What's the simplest way to extend my laptop screen to connect to this? I imagine I need a USB-A to USB-C converter? Maybe thre is a wireless solution?
USB-A cannot output video. If you have no USB-C, you'll have to use HDMI, assuming the portable display has mini HDMI port.
Are these monitors friendly to your eyes like macbook's display?
What do you mean by friendly?
11:03 what is this portable display ? I didn't see it mentionned :(, C-Force but which one ? I can"t find anything
C-FORCE Portable 4K Touchscreen Monitor (CF015xT) www.parkablogs.com/content/review-c-force-portable-4k-touchscreen-monitor-cf015xt
Waht is better, 4k res or 120 hz?
For portable 1440P resolution is sharp enough. 120Hz is nice to have
Review OLED monitors.
I think I'll wait until the day when Portable Monitors are capable of viewing the contents directly off a USB C Flashdrive. Even tho it's 2023, apparently we still aren't advanced enough to have portable monitors that read the contents off a flashdrive or external hard drive. When that day finally arrives, then I believe Portable Monitors will be worth it....but until then, they are just really big paper weights imo.
So you want a laptop 🤣.A portable monitor doesn't have an OS to read a ubsc drive. It's meant for productivity-boosting a laptop or using a phone to DEX. You need a brain upgrade bro 🤣.
@@nigelcrits I love how you know what all use cases are for a portable monitor. Usually close minded people like yourself are the ones who need the brain upgrade. Just make sure they include some common sense with it 🤣🤣😂
@Jackson Smith Good show, young man 👏. Got me laughs in for the day.
@@nigelcrits same 🤣
@Jackson Smith all that counts in the end right ?
