      Hi Ahmad, please note that if you crank up the brightness beyond 50%, then the monitor will try to pull more power than what the phone is capable of delivering,making the monitor crash.

      How about using a 20,000 mah battery connected to it. Will it then not crash

      Hi, The monitor doesn’t support passthrough charging, hence you will have to use a dock or a usb hub with power delivery and display port out through usb-C

      But if I put a USB hub, connect dex and power bank, will the charge go to the monitor and thereby charge my phone too

      @@artxt the newer 16MR70 model has passthrough charging. Only the older 16MQ70 does not.

    I recently bought the LG 16MR70 for my Mac Mini and was disappointed. I bought it because it was one of the few portable monitors on the market with a resolution and PPI close to an Apple Retina display. But when I finally received it and plugged it in, I was sad to learn that it only gives that crisp Retina look at 1280x800. The issue with 1280x800 is that everything looks too big and many applications become unusable. If you increase the resolution even a little bit to 1600x1000 to get things down to a more normal size, you start to see significant pixilation which defeats the whole purpose.
    Now I'm going to give the ViewSonic VX1655-4K a try 🤞

    Super useful info - thank you. Saved me from learning the hard way that my switch wouldn’t work with this

    I hope other big brand names make their portable monitors with resolution over 2k.

    Thank you for mentioning the macOS scaling, hidpi at scaled 1280x800 is not usable to me.

    What screen resolution you use when connected to Macbook pro ? I heard someone say text doesn't crisp and they return the monitor. I need your opinion. Thanks!

      @artxt  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi, I’m using it at default 1280*800 so that the text is sharp, but if you use it at 2560*1600 then the text won’t be that crisp

    I can’t seem to be able to get my laptop to detect the monitor, the more I press the detect button on display settings nothing happens. I can see in the monitor that my computer detects the input, but I can’t do anything

    • @artxt
      @artxt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check and see if the laptop supports display port alt mode over type-C connection. That’s the only connection type that will work with this monitor.

    Hi , I have purchased this monitor and its not working with my Samsung Z fold 3 and how come its working on your Samsung phone S ultra? Is there any phone setting needs be changed ?

    • @artxt
      @artxt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gulab, Make sure the USB is controlled by connected device and charge connected device is turned on. Also use a faster type c cable. I am currently using it with my Z fold 4 and it works better than in the S series phones.

      Hi,while the USB is connected drag down your notification bar. There must be a shortcut there for changing these settings

    Can a display port to usb c cable power it up?

    • @artxt
      @artxt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I’ve tested with an hdmi to type-c and it didn’t work, unfortunately I don’t have a device with display-port out to check. I doubt whether it will work as LG didn’t mention it as an option in the manual.

      Hi, That one came loose after a while and wouldn't keep the iPad up. I replaced that one with this 👇🏼

    Could I use two of these displays with an M2 MacBook Pro?

    • @artxt
      @artxt  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. Be mindful of Mac OS scaling though. Your effective resolution will be 1280 x 800.

    • @clim2901

      @@artxt Yeah, is it a specific one? I have a USB-C to USB-C from Anker and it that doesn't appear to work for this going from iPad Pro to monitor

    • @artxt
      @artxt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Probably because the one from Anker is a usb 2.0 to be used only for charging.There should be a cable that comes in the box along with the monitor, if not get one from Amazon which says usb 3.1 10Gbps.

    Can this be connected to iphone 14 pro max?

    • @artxt

      It doesn’t work with iPhones, requires type-c port with display out.

  • @alx9r

    This monitor needs a mounting story - at least VESA or 1/4-20” mounting threads. It’s not really a viable “productivity” travel setup in the sidecar arrangement. Sidecar is terrible ergonomics and takes up more desk surface than is often available while traveling.

    i wouldn't agree with the brightness, for content consumption i crank my 500 nits laptop to the max and even that not enough indoors

    • @artxt
      @artxt  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it depends on how much ambient light is there, both my LG Ultrafine and plus view generally stays at ~ 25% of brightness all the time.
