    Forgot to add a text tag to the shots with my Steam Deck. The Deck CAN power the monitor on its own, but when I shot this, the battery was low. The power cable here is actually going towards trickle charging the Deck, not powering the display. 👍

    I already have a really nice 1080P portable monitor that I like but it's 13.3 inches and this one looks like an upgrade. I'd probably use it as a very lightweight wall mount near my bed so I don't have to use my TV for my Switch.

    Do you see red color fringing on high contrast scenarios like black text on white background? I do on mine, it might have to do with its subpixel layout.

    I've had this exact Oled monitor for about a year now, I use it every day with my Steam Deck which is Windows 10 only. My gaming rig is only used for VR(sim racing) now as its too expensive to run since the Energy price hike. Most of my games run fine on this set up and I cringe when I visit friends and see their monitors display. I am geared up now for any power cuts they throw at us this winter. I am testing running the Steam Deck and the Innocn monitor on battery power, I have got an Anker 737 which I think will give me 10 hours + on a full charge. I'll edit this post when I get an exact time.

    How much watt does the INNOCN OLED Portable use? Normally a USB 3.0 port can just give out 5W (5V 1A), especially from a phone. So how would a phone be able to power the monitor? Maybe it just regulates brightness down in that case? I doubt the monitor is just draining 5W, it would need way more.

      Oh it looks great. The main issue with the 1080p model, there's no touch screen. You need to include a keyboard and mouse, or use the phone as a track pad.

    Small adhesive rubber "dots" can be had on Amazon etc for next to nothing, so just glue on your own rubber bits. They might include some with the package, perhaps. But putting something on right from the factory on such a clean design doesn't really strike me as the best plan. I do like the magnet thing. Would be fairly straightforward to make a 3D printed VESA-to-magnet adapter... hmm. I have a much cheaper IPS 15-incher myself, that also has two USB-C. The cool feature with mine at least is that I can daisy chain the whole setup - 65 watt charger into my dual-usb-c battery pack, then usb-c from that to the screen, and then from the screen to the phone. Now both the battery pack and the phone are charging while also powering the screen to its maximum brightness. When mobile - same thing except without the 65 watt charger, now the power brick keeps everything going, not the wimpy phone battery. Really extends run times. Not sure if this monitor can work the same way but if it can it's a great portable setup.

    • @SomeGadgetGuy
      @SomeGadgetGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I need something that will cover the EDGE better than a dot. I thought of that one too, but I need almost like a rubber molding or corner adhesive.
      I mentioned in the pinned comment, I meant to throw a text tag on the screen for the shots with my Steam Deck, it is passing power to the Deck.

    • @SomeGadgetGuy
      @SomeGadgetGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not a GAMING Monitor, but it honestly wasn't too bad for casual and arcade-y game play. Probably better to go with an LCD for inexpensive and better latency, but I'm not sure I've used a portable yet that I would consider "GAMING" grade.

    • @sirnovice9085

      I did already place an order for this monitor for $200 at Amazon (too late to cancel anyway). So I can only hope for the best and return it if I'm not satisfied with it. To be fair, my main intention is to use it as a secondary monitor with casual gaming on the side, such as being a cheeky way to play my Nintendo Switch with an OLED display without buying the OLED Switch model. I just hope the input lag is not too noticeable.
