Fair use is a legal doctrine that promotes freedom of expression by permitting the unlicensed use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances. Section 107 of the Copyright Act provides the statutory framework for determining whether something is a fair use and identifies certain types of uses-such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research-as examples of activities that may qualify as fair use.

A friend of mine was an English teacher in China for a few years. As a black male, he also had a number of experiences there. Because China is so homogeneous, many Chinese are not exposed to people outside their race. They're only exposure and knowledge of black and brown people is via the media. I remember him telling me he got a lot questions about Will Smith and some asking if he knows Will Smith personally.
He also visited Japan where he had a rather negative experience when someone called the police at an onsen. He and a co-worker went to an onsen and someone had called the policed claiming it was being robbed by what they described as an African. Fortunately, his co-worker was there and was able to resolve the misunderstanding.
Did you say years ago ? Daaammnn!
I did say that but it’s still relevant everywhere I go.
I just thought China was the most extreme.
I hung out in Europe last year and still experienced some of it. Just not as much of course
@@bowtravels I was trying to pull a Kevin Hart on you.
Sounds like your experience was individual and specific. I leave overseas. They stare but wave, smile and laugh, and joke. I'm racially ambiguous ambiguous for some odd reason. They understand FBA and Hebrew. The picture thing I don't get that. But I've gotten plenty of comments about my skin. Brown sugar, lol.
