Power plants in British Columbia has wiped out the Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River. The same thing has happened with the Squamish River in BC as well. The natives cried out and protested over this expansion of the hydro plants but the politicians and the native chiefs were bought off by the corporations as usual. I think you are right Jeremy the fish is trying to tell us something but our need for material things is preventing us from listening to that message.
In 2250, the most dramatic TV (or something more technical) show will have an angler fish for sticklebacks and the stickleback will be the apex predator. That is, if things don't change in a positive way.
