Stumbled on your video… good stuff 👍🏾. My daughter was interested in veterinary school but is concerned about euthanasia… I told her it’s wasn’t a large part of being a vet. Was I wrong?
Something to be aware of before entering the field is that veterinarians see mainly sick animals, meaning that the only animals that she will be assessing will always have the risk of being euthanized. As someone who works in an animal hospital, euthanasia is, unfortunately, a large part of veterinary medicine. In many cases, some owners cannot afford the care needed for their companion, which sadly leaves the only option of euthanasia. And sometimes, euthanasia is the only course of action that can be provided. Thankfully, euthanasia isn't always a daily occurrence, but it definitely is a large part of veterinary medicine. I would definitely recommend telling your daughter to volunteer at vet clinics and hospitals to really have a better insight into the practice before pursuing the career. :)

I love science, but what age should I really be taking on all the major major stuff. I'm only 12 and in the 6th grade. My 4H does not do Animal Science/Veterinary Science. And my science is basically just learning about waters and wind and weather, etc. Any tips? I plan on opening a 'Animal Vet Sanctuary' when I'm old enough! I've always wanted to put the animal first.
What about specifically for wildlife conservation veterinary? Are the majors/classes the same for all kinds of veterinarians?
Anisa Fizzy it's the same no matter what type of vet you want to be although it's good if you volunteer at a wildlife rehab clinic, zoo etc to gain experience before you apply for vet school.
i’m in tallahassee Florida trying to get my Ged Right Now Right After I Am going to try and get into a close by college so i can be a veterinarian any tips??
Hi Dr. Jasmine, Can you suggest how to clear NAVLE successfully?
I really really want to be a vet someday!! Does that mean if I finish BSMT I can take vet med but since I already have chem and other subjects in BSMT i don't have to take them again and the years I'll spwnd with vet med school will be somehow shorter?? Pls help i really want to be a vet😔😔 i wish i knew sooner what courses i could have taken to necome a vet b4 taking BSMT😔 I am full of regrets......
I want to do pre-vet major in college but I’m a bit confused bc I hear some people say it’s not an actual major and to just do a major in biology. Is pre-vet a bachelors degree in itself? Can I get into vet school with just a associates in Bio or do I need a bachelors?
you’re going to need a bachelors in order to get the general physics 1 and 2 plus org chemistry 1 and 2
it’s a major but some colleges may not have it so then do other majors instead
I am 13 and i love animals and want to become a vet one day
I have all the science but how am I going to come there and apply help me apply
I think I found it. This is what I want to do.
