Thank you a lot Peter. This was still my early tutorials, when I was trying to find my style of teaching and filming. I'm planning on re-recording that video soon. What would you like to have most addressed in it, that wasn't clear in this version? Anything you would want from a tutorial on this, feel free to drop it here as a suggestion. Thank you tons for watching 🙌🏼
Yes, I want to get out on my surfskate more and film more, but the weather in germany is so english right now -.- I'm heading into another week of rain/snow/ice rain - the weather just can't decide what to do 5 times a day :D
@@carlosaramosss8166 of course always :) would’ve answered a lot earlier but I was in the middle of my Medical School finals 🙌🏼 this week - but it’s all over now and I can get back to making more and new videos Anything in particular that you would like to see?
@@ChrisGenau no sweat man! I'm sure You did great...i'm a sugeon myself!, Just an old one... Been surfing all My life, never skated before, but My 7 year old daughter asked for a skateboard, as she tought she would learn to surf faster if she could skate... Soooo of course I bought a surf skate right away!!! Now i'm hooked!
Seems much more applicable to surfing than the typical surf skate stalling carve top turn. I've never seen the OMBE guys using kick turns though. Thoughts?
Yes I agree that doing these turns will translate better into surfing, than any surfskate practice in the flats. I still believe that practice in the flats has tremendous benefits. You are correct OMBE does not teach kickturns at all. My guess here, this kind of kickturn would be like a foam climb or quick tapping the lip kind of turn in surfing. Very skate modern style. As it governs a backfoot heavy approach. but it isn't really a clean top turn with perfect technique the way ombe teaches us. Hope my ramble is at all relatable and remotely understandable as well :D
@@ChrisGenau Yes, thank you for the reply. Are you still on your CX trucks? I’ve been experimenting with CX, C5, and traditional trucks (wedged). Would like to just commit to one setup though for ramps and bowls, maybe the CX with a stiff setup.
@@great_lakes_ryan yep I’m still mostly on my CX trucks almost exclusively. But I do have a Chinese board from sixty-six (was gifted to me by their company) OMBE was given some too. It is the all white board you see sometimes in their videos in the bowl. That truck is a CX derivative with a little less stability. I don’t think it hurts to surf different setups, I’d say it’s like surfing different boards and fin setups. But would 100% recommend cx for bowls, quarter pipes and pump tracks :)
@@great_lakes_ryan thank you 🫶 and any time. If you have a question just hit me up. It means a lot to me that there is a community watching my stuff and that I can be helpful towards, even though uploads have slowed down quite a bit :D
thanks a lot Chris !!! Your vids are the best 🙌🦾🦾🏄🛹
