    The thing I'm surprised people don't talk about is the first person conversation system, people eat, hang around, hand over you stuff, you can drink sit or stand, everything is fluid and not forcing you to sit and stare at each other and just choosing the dialog options. I never seen other game do it so live like as seamless

    Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t a great game. Not because it’s not the game we THOUGHT it was going to be, or because it’s not as “alive” as we IMAGINED, but because it’s not the game they TOLD us it was going to be. The same game that took 7+ years to develop. The same game that forces you to sit through hours of dialogue collectively before you can even “start” a new character or game.
    The story or characters are not good enough to warrant the time it requires to get enjoyment out of the game.
    Rockstar did a better job when they created Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 18 years ago.

  • @HiroKompleX
    @HiroKompleX ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The public wasn't piling on Cyberpunk 2077 because "Internet Bad". It was because, after years of separating themselves from companies that have bad business practices, they lied and mislead their customers.
    You can sit there and play the game now after 2 years of updates and say: "The public love hating on games, it plays pretty good". That doesn't erase CDPR hiding what the game looked like. Or their shady review process. Or them getting removed from PSN. The Internet didn't overreact. For once they were correct and CDPR deserved every bit of criticism they received.

    I was one of the lucky few on PC who experienced minimal bugs on launch. But even though going back and playing now (on steam deck this time) has been an amazing experience. Almost no bugs at all with sprinkles of quality of life improvements. Plus with the sheer amount of viable play styles I’m having fun with my V using quick hacks, rifles and smart weapons. I also have to disagree about how your choices effect things. Often the end result will be similar but the road to get there will be totally different depending on what you do. And like he said if you just assume that you have choice and things might be different if you chose different options then it feels significant. Just let the game tell you the story and it will be a good time

    I started playing the game post patch 1.5, and I didn't experience the bugs you showed. In fact, over the ~100 hours or so I played I only encountered a couple of instances where I had to reload to get an NCPD objective to spawn and couple of instances where a stealth kill resulted in a headless corpse continuing the human's idle animation.
    I wonder whether you encountering those issues is connected to loading old savefiles. (Another possible reason is that I use Ubuntu.)

      1. I loved the story, but its beginning seems to have suffered from time constraints.
      2. I loved the core gameplay loop and getting to the kind of gameplay you see in Falcmaan's videos was very satisfying, but this was preceded by choosing beforehand what kind of build I would want to use (which is not a complaint but a disclaimer).

    I think your mileage may vary quite a bit based on how you build your character. since they decided to make this an action RPG instead of just an action game you are going to run into situations where the enemies are significantly more powerful than you are, often without realizing it, and just as often in the middle of quests that simply ask you to drive across town into what turns out to be a high level area. Melee characters are likely to become frustrated by how often they get one or two-shot under those circumstances. Hackers may not even notice because the AI doesn’t know how to track them down if they stay in stealth. Gun characters will find the enemies absurdly spongey.
    If you want to avoid this frustration I suggest a hacker type focusing on quick hacks and stealth.

  • @kid______
    @kid______ ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think it's a decent game at best. They still didn't delivered some things they had promised, for example, the game isn't an RPG (ROLEPLAYING game) neither has advanced RPG mechanics. The entire main story is linear and the choices have no consequences at all. The non-linear experience is limited to how can you complete quests, like having a certain item to open a door, talk to get information and get your way through, how to kill the enemies and that's pretty much it (very few quests are like this btw). There's no character roles, every lifepath is Street Kid "disguised with another name", making every playthrough exactly the same. A project like this missing features from games of decades ago is just depressing. If you're not a demanding person I don't see why you shouldn't give it a try. People love it but I don't think it's that great... with mods tho, that's a different story. I think the game is worth it if you got a decent rig and if the game is on steam sale.

    Good game overall. System will feel complicated at first but that’s because there’s tons of ways to play the game as far as combat goes. It gets easier the more you play and know what you’re doing. Hacking is the easiest because once you understand the system you’ll become OP. (I recommend watching different build videos before playing) if you want a funner combat experience you can make a blade or guns blazing build. You’ll eventually become OP that way too just early on you’ll want to use stealth. Point is, there’s multiple combat options you can choose from and the best part is that towards the end game you’ll become OP if you level up enough no matter the build. Some are better than others but it’s up to how you want to play. I played on PS5 I can only recommend if you’re on the current gen or a top notch PC. World looks amazing, cars and guns are cool, and the story is interesting. There’s also some semi- cinematic moments and the game makes you feel like a badass. 8/10 from me

You don't replay CyberPunk 2077 for new story beats. You replay the game to try out new builds and mechanics you neglected in previous playthroughs. Also, I wouldn't consider crafting, min/maxing skill/perk points, collecting unique items, upgrading weapons/armor and cyber augmentations "light" RPG elements. These are pretty significant RPG features, and this is what really sets CyberPunk 2077 apart from GTA, RDR and Saints Row. Everything else you said was pretty spot on.

I bumped my score up to 4/5 on GoG with 1.6, because while it's lacking a lot in the open world RPG aspects, what is there ranges from good to excellent, and now it's in a state where it the game itself isn't getting in it's own way (ie, a lot less bugs and glitches). This game had and still has the potential to be great but they need more missions. And better missions. One's that take you to all the cool places you see in the city and outside the city. They built this massive city and most of it is just eye candy and after awhile the current missions just feel repetitive, rinse and repeat. No substance to them.

    Just picked the game couple days back after the 1.6 patch. My first playthrough. I went in with lowest of the lowest expectations, but it has turned out to be quite a good experience. The game looks PHENOMENAL with "ray tracing ultra" preset it chose for me (5600x, 16gb, rtx 3060ti). There is some jank in the driving which needs fixing. I felt that the hacking mechanisms are just thrown at you without much explanation and I'm still clueless even after playing the tutorial. Actually the game expects too much of an intuition from you instead of training you properly into the CP world. You would be just walking around and a subtle mission name would appear on the left where you will be able to start that mission. The event lacks "significance" and for first few such occurrences I didn't notice it at all. It is just like Witcher 3 where you could discover and start missions just exploring around but it worked beautifully there, not sure what is missing from CP.
    But, the most prominent thing I noticed is that CDPR didn't put this out as a "reputation riding money maker", they wanted it to be a great game and it shows. The graphics, the world, the care put into creating the character models, the characters, the dialog, the voice acting, it is all top notch. I FEELS like a 110% effort product but for some unfortunate reasons they couldn't accomplish the end result they wanted. One thing is for sure, it is not a scam. Totally pleased that I gave it a chance and hoping they keep putting in the hard work and it achieves it potential.

The development of the last updates are going in the right direction, but the game is still miles away from what CDPR promised and announced. Cyberpunk 2077 could really be a great game, but....

    I finally played the game after watching Edgerunners and getting it on super sale. I'd say it's a solid game that even today is plagued with significant bugs. I personally think the main story is pretty good. The gameplay is actually really fun once you get some cool weapons and fun cyberware. Being a super fast god with a sandevistan or a super hacker is really fun and rewarding. My main issue is a lack of replayability. Overall after completing all the main side missions replaying the 3 choices you can make at the end there isn't really much compelling you to keep playing besides reaching max level just to say you did. It also suffers from a problem that many RPGs do. It gives you a time sensitive urgent main story to follow and leaves the side quests (sometimes) disconnected from the main story. So as a player you have no narrative incentive to complete those quests

    I really hope the sequel (if there is one coming) picks up the pieces and expands on the world of cyberpunk. Giving us more possibilities to go with, more things to do in the city, and I really hope they add flying cars/vehicles

      if there is a sequel lets hope it's not for at least 10 years so they can fix this one

    Definitely. I loved the game since release (PC player) and had become much more polished since patch 1.5 which was released in like March this year.

    Its worth, 100%. But it doesnt mean CP doesnt have big flaws. To name a few:
    - Very low level of world interactions
    - One of poorest npc AI I have ever seen
    - Overall combat and scalling. Too basic, and its very hard to find challenge in this game. Even at highest diff.
    - Poor physics.
    - Lack of some basic features like proper wanted system, rep system, overall customization and more.
    - No end game content
    Overall its very solid game, but it could be an masterpiece.
