Thanks Dr. Sugar! Found the video very helpful! At 64 years young, I already do all these things but didn’t know about peptides. Also not planning to do any fillers or Botox. I am blessed to look younger than my years and I plan on ageing gracefully. Thanks for your great advice!
I love your videos❤ so informative! I am 39 and I have used anti wrinkle creams and serums since I was 20. Aout botox and fillers I am terrified of any pain or maybe get scars. I have no problem with getting older just for me it is great to use good skincare regimen and makeup suitable for older age tips and tricks that is my mantra honestly.
The Ordinary has a new retinal serum. They also have a sacchromyces exfoliating toner which seems interesting. What about retinyl esters? DRMTLGY has an eye cream with HPR and e.l.f. has a combo retinal/HPR serum. Paula's Choice has a 25% vit c (THD) and glutathione serum. Cosrx, Maelove and Peach and Lily have peptide serums (I believe the Maelove and Peach and Lily have copper peptide as well). Isdin has at least two sunscreens that have DNA repair enzymes. Thanks for the comment about over exfoliating.
Great video, per usual. 💪🏾 Would you consider a video on anti-aging (SOFT aging-what I like to call it), devices that can be used at home as well, to encourage slower aging? Example. Collagen producing/maintaining devices, light therapy, etc.? Again, thank you for the continued education.
Thank you for a great, easily understandable video that covers everything about anti-aging skin care. I’m glad that you mentioned peptides because I think they don’t get enough recognition. They’ve definitely helped kick up the results of my skin care regime, especially since I have difficulty using retinol.
Dr, your skin looks fabulous! You look very young, no wrinkles, no under eye circles, no sagging, i would say you are 20-25 years old. I would appreciate it if you could share with us your skin care routine, your everyday habits etc. I know everyone is different, but this could be very helpful ! Thank you in advance ! Also, thank you for being so informative in every video! Many blessings! ❤
Thanks so much for this great information! I sincerely appreciate how thorough you are with recommendations about procedures and products. This is the type of content I will review and save to watch again and again. If I lived in the Seattle area I would want you to be my Dermatologist!
I'm in my late 50s, for me the vitamin-c serum that I love that I feel is reasonably priced is Timeless. It also has Vitamin E and Ferulic acid in it. It's one of the only ones that I see a difference in my pigmentation and Timeless doesn't add a lot of other ingredients like some over the counter vitamin-Cs like ROC which seems to add some flowery type of essence to it. ROC gave me a rash and seemed to have a lot of other added ingredients.
@@axisgirlvaughn7446 Thank you! I just looked up Prequel and the ingredients look great as well as the price. I’ll check it out once my Timeless runs out
I prefer "Well Aging" to "Anti-aging " I am currently 61 and start to see Mt face look like an egg. I can't afford fillers so it's all about skincare, diet and makeup application. Thank you for recommending products that are affordable. I don't mind the smile lines.. I so love to laugh.
I can't afford "full-time" fillers either! I get lip filler once a year, just before the holidays. I find it lasts about 8 months, AND it definitely has some permanent residual accumulation over time. Meanwhile, I also learned to subtly over line my lips, and use a lighter shade of lipstick to make them appear fuller. I love to laugh too! ❤
This video is a treasure trove of info with an awesome variety of recommendations. I wanted to share my personal experience with red light therapy for my skin complexity and wrinkles. My dermatologist suggested trying a panel from Future Form Official, and it has made such a difference. I was intrigued by the science behind it-there are so many scientific papers supporting its effectiveness. Using the panel consistently has noticeably improved my skin’s texture and reduced fine lines. And surprisingly, it didn’t cost a fortune. Thank you for putting together such a comprehensive and helpful video!
Thank you Dr. Sugai for sharing this information 😊 My skin is very sensitive, I use fragrance- free skin care products - Neutrogena & Vanicream are my favorites 🥰 I have a Konjac sponge that I use to gently exfoliate my skin.
After I apply my nightly skin care - retiniol, moisturizer, and hyaluronic acid - I apply Smoothies anti-wrinkle patches between my eyebrows. Not only do they hold my skin tight to prevent 11s, they TRAP the skincare products, keeping them in the skin.
Thanks for all that you do! Question;I work NOC shift and wake up at around 3pm to eat and then nap again, there are windows in the dining room where I eat, some visible light gets there, I heard that visible light from the sun can worsen hyperpigmentation, I already have some on my forehead and left cheek, I don’t wan’t it getting worse. So I heard that tinted sunscreen helps more to prevent hyperpigmentation as opposed to plain chemical sunscreen, I hate wearing tinted sunscreen if I’ll go to bed in a few minutes anyway after eating, I prefer to wear chemical sunscreen, at least it won’t stain my pillows when I nap again but I’m worried that the brief exposure to sunlight will cause my hyperpigmentation to get worse. I guess my question is can I get away with wearing non-tinted sunscreen on the brief moment i’m exposed to sunlight via the windows without worsening my hyperpigmentation? What should I do?
I always look forward to your videos, so informative. I would like to know your thoughts on Avene Retinaldehyde for face and eyes. I have recently started using them and so far appears good. Also your thoughts on Peter Thomas Roth Potent C serum. I started using this recently also. Love your videos!
I like your videos, simple yet very informative! 👏🏼 it’s not too overwhelming and it’s easy to understand. Could you be able to look into Neostrata? I love their retinol but I’m not sure if it’s a good enough to keep using.😅
Great information. Question. Can you use Retin - A - Micro around the lip lines and mouth and eye lid areas with Cerave lotions with no retinal in them. Thanks
Since I have been watching you my skin is so improved. I am 70 a my skin goes up like you described. Question, my sunscreen is expired 5/2023 should I discard Elta tinted sp44? I have a sample of SPF 40 it has octinoxate with the zinc oxide. I used vanicream vit c day, and daily facial moisturizer at night.
So many products..can you make a video of the perfect regime. Like morning do I clense my face and use vitamin C then moisturizer with spf then night time hyloranic acid and retinol? And now peptides lol I'm confused what's more important.
How often do you recommend getting chemical peels? I started doing a series of monthly at home tca 13% peels. Is that better than using an Aha toner every other day? Just trying to underrstand which is better long term: gentle but often or stronger but just once a month
Is there some ingredient in the purple Olay Retinol cream which can cause acne in some people? Maybe some type of silicone (because the cream has a uniquely smooth texture) which prevents air from contacting the skin and could cause acne? I watched many videos about retinol before using it, I used it for a few weeks with some breaks to decrease irritation, but still I feel like when I used it is continued to cause more acne.
I'd love to hear some suggestions for menopausal hair loss. I have cats, and they get into everything because they are evil geniuses so minoxidil is not an option for me. I've seen a lot about supplements, essential oils, scalp massagers, red light... So much out there. Some help sorting the medically sound options from the rest would great.
I have that problem now where on one side of my face it looks like I got hit on my cheek bone and I notice the skin lose in that area. Could I use hyaluronic acid serum everyday to plump that area?
Love your videos! My issue is that every time I use over the counter retinols I end up getting more pigmentation than what I have. And I use sunscreen also. What do you recommend I have very sensitive skin too it burns easily. I’m 52 what else can I do? I would love to hear your thoughts thanks.
Have you used niacinamide before? If it did not work then maybe try using a serum with tranexamic acid and alpha arbutin, they are both good for pigmentation and can be found in a single product. And for the sunscreen, if you have fair skin, use a mineral sunscreen. Most on the market are chemical based for that lighter texture or sprayability and they have an advertised lifetime of like 2 hours. But the mineral ones don't really have a lifetime of efficacy. Tinted sunscreens with Zinc Oxide are the best if it looks fine on your skin tone.
I used La Roche-Posay's facial scan. It picked up chin lines while wearing a mask during COVID. I have a pair of them surrounding my chin, interior to minor marionette lines. I also have minor discoloration on my left cheek that bothers me. I've been under stress for about six months so I have dark circles under my eyes. What could be done for the chin lines and cheek discoloration?
Can you please do a video on how a sweat room or a sauna would effect hyperpigmentation. I'm really trying to get rid of some hyperpigmentation on my face. I have access to these resources and would like More information
Can you make a video on aged skin of people who are in their 60's. I do have deep pores on nose only, little jawline sagging and three lines on forehead and the 11 between the eyes. What can I use for these problems?
I just went to amazon to order the la rosh posay and this came up. talke about copying a label?? huge price difference?? Whats your opinon?? Hyalu B5 Serum, Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Face with Vitamin B5, Anti-Aging
I'm 63, and have relied on skincare rather than injectables to keep my skin looking good. A year after starting prescription tretinoin, my elevens have virtually disappeared.
I'd like to know how to find "an experienced injector"? How do we know for sure? Everyone shows positive references and obviously they don't show the patients with negative outcomes. No one I know gets injections, so I don't have a community to ask personally.
Dr Dray has a video, 8 questions you should ask before any cosmetic procedure. There probably are other videos as well. You could also check the american academy of dermatology site. They have a find a doctor feature and you can search by specialty. There are also sites like realself that have patient reviews.

Thank you. You are the only doctor that mentioned vertical neck lines.
Thank you so much- definitely a common complaint in clinic that can be tough to treat but neuromodulators can be a nice solution
