- Here is how I used the Fridge Binz storage containers recommend by Jennifer McGuire & clear acrylic makeup organizers to organize in my craft room. Love it!!

I was so happy to have found this. I like the videos of craft rooms, but the majority now seem to be people who had a craft room designed as they built their new house. What I get the most from are the videos where people have found great storage containers that are re-purposed as in Mary's re-use of the acrylic makeup storage units. I, too, use more of my things that are immediately available and not necessarily sorted by color. I have curtain expansion rods holding my embellishments by category and some Michaels cubes and bookcases, plastic 12x12 cases with the lids removed so when they go into the plastic tower I can easily see & get what is in it - both came from others' craft room videos! Good job, Mary! Hope to see more ideas!

Thank God I stumbled onto your video! I saw the 3-stack acrylic drawers and the makeup display a while ago but didn't think much of them since I thought, I need bigger drawers to store my bigger craft stuff and these acrylics will only cramp my (huge) craft desk.. until I saw the way you organized all the glitters and tiny chalk inks/perfect pearls/pearl ex/twinkling h2o pots and I thought, holy crap! I can save so much space in my Ikea drawers if I move them into the acrylic drawers! And they will look pretty, too! LOL. So, yeah, I'll be going to that store again for a haul (I hope the acrylic drawers are still available). Thank you so much for sharing!

You have such a cheerful and sunny personality and voice, I loved listening as you described your storage solutions. It is probably too late for me to find these great clear drawers from TJ Maxx or Marshall's, but I love how you are using them. I also love what you did with your Copics and colored pencils. Mine are on my desk, and besides taking up valuable "real estate", I am finding that I cannot take them with me if I want to color elsewhere in the house. I will do something like you did so they will be more portable, thanks for the ideas.
Hi Maureen I think you maybe in luck :-) I was shopping recently for my grand-babies and saw that they still have the clear acrylic makeup storage units and the Fridge Binz also. I would go looking at TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Ross. The hardest one to find may be the 6 drawer unit that was on the leftside behind my desk. My new arrangement has been working out great. Wishing you success locating some for yourself. I also wanted to tell you how much I appreciate and was touched by your sweet remarks. Mary thank you for this great walk through of your storage system! For the first time in 20 years I have ALL my crafting supplies in one place, rather than some in separate rooms, a storage unit and yes, my brothers house. I lost my house shortly after retiring from the Air Force, and have moved 5 times since retiring. Now I'm in a 2 bedroom apartment (across from my brothers family) and I am converting the "master bedroom" into a creative studio that my nephew and nieces can enjoy with me. I REALLY like the makeup storage units that you found, I have a lot of the products that you have so it was really nice to see all the beautiful colors peaking out of them. I can imagine it makes you smile every time you walk in the room. Needless to say I am on the hunt for something similar. Thanks agin for sharing. Warm regards. Debra.
Hi Debra Glad to hear you were able to find a place close to your family. I have moved my crafty goodies to my master bedroom also. (I don't care to be alone like many of our crafty friends) So the master is now called
"The Family Fun Room". Hubby and I have relocated to another bedroom in the house. I found my acrylic containers at TJ Maxx and Mashalls. But I know not every one has these stores where they live. My pieces ranged in price from $12 to $18. Not exactly cheap, but not as expensiveness as I have seen other places. My ridge binz came from the same places. Found all of them on clearance. Great setup. Great organization tips. I was shocked by the number of copies everyone has in these videos. They are wonderful markers, but at $7 and above, per marker your collection would cost upwards of $1300. That is amazing. I hope you got a much better deal.

Thank for sharing giving us ideas some plastic clear containers I had laying around I have use for makeup gave ideas inspired me I love clear jars, or clear containers help me see wheee everything at pop our beautiful colors & use for storage ideas u can get clear containers from dollar Tree it works wonders there clear containers I use for many things

I wanted to add that being at the 2nd hand store I even looked at all different sized loaf pans I can creatively alter to match my craft room theme then use for stamps, etc. The mini loaf pans are perfect for my collections of dollar acrylic stamps since my larger stamps are all deep etched long wearing rubber. I like using different mediums to stamp with and acrylic stamps just don't give me the best image. And I love altering ANYTHING. FUN!
+Lynda Thomas I love that idea. and if you can't find them for cheap at a thrift store you can order them in bulk from dollar tree. I don't know if you are in the us or uk and I don't know if they even have dollar equivalent stores in the uk (if that's where you are) but it might be a good idea if you are able to anyways. = )

To start with....I love your dog, I have four dogs, so yes a doggy crafty person lol. I adore your clear storage, also the bins in your drawer. I would so get lots of the clear storage units but as I'm in the Uk they would cost me at least three times what you pay. I keep looking for ideas as we moved house 18 months ago, but because of the price I can't do most of them, then it gets me so down and I can't go into the room. So if there is anyone knows where I can get stuff like this that's not going to break the bank (I can't work I'm disabled) I would so appreciate it. I love finding second hand items to use in my room. Please don't allow yourself to get down and not enjoy what you do have. Crafting should not be be about how pretty ones room is, or how much craft supplies someone else has. I believe youtube is a great place to find inspiration, be encouraged to try new things, and make new friends who share in our passion to create. Happy Crafting Mary

I have heard that any two ended markers need to be stored horizontally so that the end that points up doesn't dry out. I love your copic marker collection and would hate for you to have a problem with them because they are stored vertically. I've also heard that ink pads should be stored flat and that if you want your stickles to always be primed and not dried in the tip, store them tip down. Just thought I'd pass along what I've read several times before in case it would save you some heartache later. Hugs, Diana
Diana Jones Thanks for your thoughtfulness, water based markers should be stored vertically like distress markers, Stampin Up ect. Copic however can be stored either way. I have stored my inkpads upside down for years so that the ink stays toward the surface of the pad.But after watching a video by "Jennifer McGuire ink" I changed how I store them and just love it, and have had no problems with the ink or inkpads. Yes, I agree Stickles and the like do better stored upside down to prevent air bubbles. Thanks again for looking out for me and watching my video. Happy Crafting, Mary

awesome craft room! I love that black glass table top with the flower pattern from IKEA and I knew I should have bought one of those several years back, cuz unfortunately now they no longer make them :( Unless anyone knows of some where where I could find one. I would actually prefer a White with flowers etched glass top for my desk. Happy Crafting ;) *hugs*

Pretty clever for your organization ...but... you need to store your ink pads like Jennifer and not put them on their sides. Pads should be stacked horizontally, same as Copic markers. It keeps the inks saturated properly ad evenly. I found out the hard way 😩
Great video, just wanted to remind you, it looks like you have spent quite a bit of money on copic markers, and I wanted to remind you that they should be stored on their sides. Thats just what I have heard. Love your video and storage system.
Hi Becky Thanks for watching my video, and watching out for a fellow crafter. Storing Copics on their side isn't necessary per the company. Copic markers can be stored vertically or horizontally. I have store mine upright for years with no issues. But I do want you to know I appreciate your thoughtfulness. There are other markers that do require being stored on their side. Happy Crafting Mary
I have the same table top! I love it...but I find I worry storing about anything on top if it...do you feel that way too, or do you have support under neath it (aside from the drawer set holding it up)? tfs!

Mary. I'm disabled myself n don't venture out far from home very often. I love the clear acrylic make up centers you purchased from TJ Maxx n Marshall's. Are they stamped or have a brand name molded into them so maybe I could find them for sale on a web site? I do much shopping on line. Thx for the great vid. Grateful for your cheery spirit. XX'S.

+allthatscrafty Hi Mary it's not got anything too with being pretty I can do that anytime. It's about being functional. Like I said before I'm disabled so I have to be careful with things laying about etc Where I live is in the middle of the countryside, we have one shop lol. Though I do drive and what you call thrift shops we call charity shops, and yes there is a lot of them. I wouldn't be able to go round many before I would be in too much pain. So this is why I am asking. As I said the pretty bit can come later, I'll be 58 this year and I have been crafting since I was three, there is no craft I don't do, so the pretty will be no problem, mind you I don't really want all pretty bits through the room, just a functional one. Markers last longer if you store them flat.

+Janet Hart Copic markers can be stored vertically or horizontally as per the company. I too store mine upright and have for years with no issues. Each marker is different and the ones you refer may do better being stored on their sides, but with Copics it isn't necessary.
Where did you get the little spoons? They would be perfect for pearl ex.
Hi Michael I found those little spoons at walmart in their party supplies, near the wilton cake decorating stuff. I do love them for my glitter, embossing powders. They would be great for pearl ex. I think they only cost around $2 and I got all those you see in my video. Hope you find some for yourself. TFW Mary

I did get some for Christmas one year from my hubby, but most where brought over time. I have never paid full retail for any of my copic markers, just not in my blood. But Scrapbookpal.com & Oozak.com are my two favorite places to shop for copics. At $5.24 per Sketch Marker I can live with that price and I do so love my Copics. Happy Crafting,Mary
not very budget friendly...i didnt get past the drawer as it was around $30.00 for all the containers for one drawer...its organized i admit but not very budget friendly
