I think we all can agree after the Elf and Giants series he covered we've all been looking forward to this Dwarf series. Especially since there's so much to cover and to explore that we know he'll make entertaining.
I love how you go into the view of Dwarves on wealth. An object isn't just a thing. The chair example you gave is great. It's not just a chair. It's the art that went into making that style of a chair. It was the choice of materials used to add to it's durability, beauty, and function. It's the skill of the craftsdwarf that was infused in creating that chair. It was the time that craftsdwarf spent on creating that chair. It's that the chair is a chair for the table around which the family finds comfort during their joint meal. All of those things are part of the wealth that chair represents. I think Dragons may think that way about things in their hordes, but magnified and sometimes twisted in a selfish way.

It's awesome that you get into your characters like that. There are so many ways to play. Made a pair of twin repositioning monks (loosely based off of 2 Shaolin monks from Jet Li's Fearless) that spammed the reposition mechanic. Every time one monk repositioned an enemy the other got an AoO. And if one monk got an AoO, the other automatically got one as well (Greater Reposition). Add the fact that either one could reposition multiple times in a round, due to high Dex and reposition as part of their AoO, it quickly became broken. Spent a month pouring over rules and books trying to get the right feats for them to advance properly. Level 12 and one of them died and the other (side quest) traveled to the other side to bring him back. Apparently, (DMs idea) they shared one soul and they could inteplanar detect each other. Dope campaign.
I'd love to see a story that's set in a golden age of dwarven society rather than a dark age, where the world is seeing a renaissance in stone-masonry and metal working as a result and the major quest hubs are cities which spring up just outside of dwarven mountain strongholds like Dale around Erebor.

The dwarven mentality of focusing on a single field of expertise and focusing all their efforts and energy on mastering it to the exclusion of almost everything else is curiously similar to Aeldari society in Warhammer 40,000. Even more curious because the Aeldari are the equivalent of the Elven in said setting. Their attitude towards gold is the complete opposite of the Warhammer dwarves who suffer from literal gold rush. when playing D&D dwarfs are not my 1st choice (for a long run) but I feel like I'm so much like a dwarf. Specially on the craftsmen mentality, if you spend time on a project you want to make the best you can, not just half-arss it. Money is oke-ish, but I feel trade has more value over a metal or gem I could actually use for a craftsmen project. I care for those I consider friends, but I'm harsh and stoic with new people I meet, but even then, if I can offer advice or share knowledge I do. (people often say I sound like a grandpa or an old wise uncle. I often had situations where even with those I end up arguing/fighting, they will come back months/years later and let me know I was right with my thoughts or advice. (relation is still not good, but I'm glad that they listened) The other similarity, is that I can spend hours or days in my workshop (sculpture (wood/stone) or painting miniatures, drawing art, crafting maps and buildings for table-top games, crafting an entire adventure for D&D, etc.)
04:30 What is the dwarf does not want just another "fair" madien or damsel in distress? IE: An adventurer marries another adventurer. A Runesmith or more mundane Smith marries a Miner, etc...
IIRC there was a 3.X splatbook called something like The Stronghold Builder's Guide that describes a metal even stronger than adamantine: obdurium. It has a hardness of 30 (compared to adamantine's 20) but otherwise mechanically identical to adamantine. It seems weird to me that I've only seen it mentioned in that book. The metal should be so rare that getting ahold of enough to make a sword is a tall order, so forget about getting enough to make a door.
One thing you missed is that while most dwarfs are infertile when they do have kids they tend to be twins as it's a blessing from their god to help deal with their low numbers and infertility. So they don't need to rely on other races 100% to not die out.
I feel as if the Forgotten Realms Dwarves are my least favorite version of Dwarves. But certain aspects of them are very interesting. So the Dwarves in my games will be a hodgepodge of many different versions
I'm loving all these "What they don't tell you" vids. When are you going to do one about Hobgoblins? I'm playing one now and I'm sick of always explaining to the rest of the party that I'm *supposed* to be intelligent and disciplined.
What is up! Glad to see some new lore videos. Do you think you might be able to do something on what they don't tell us about artificers? I feel like there is a lit more than what is on the surface from the islands of artificers and even on sigil where it would be an artificer's dream with all of the strange contraptions and mechanical things
Dwarven funerals sound like how my family does funerals. Especially when y said they can party for 3 days cuz since stayed over at my mom's cousin's place for 3 days after her dad died. I remember waking up n her daughter (around my age) offering to make breakfast but I was too hung over. After 1 cigarette I felt it coming n stumbled my way back inside to the toilet to vomit; instantly felt better n walked outside to flip in the pool n was like "ok, Ash, I'll take that bacon now, please"
Mr Rhexx you do us Dwarves justice. I happen to be a Dwarf of great stature and being 6' 2" of hot sexy Dwarf is honored by your spreading of the Dwarven love...ummm...lore!
Might be a weird take on an episode but you think you could do an episode on the planet itself? Find the lore on how the magical ores came into being, what are the rares things that exist within the planet in terms of ores and gems and other interesting hidden cities or ruins, ancient buried relics or other things that people don't realize is in the lore
In this and other videos he covers several D&D campaign settings, i.e. different 'planets'. (The Forgotten Realms is (part of) a planet, canonically.) But a D&D planets video would be cool!
I liked when you called the Dwavres "these fuckers". That made me laugh.

My question remains. Was I born as a dwarf, or did the dwarves make me one of them?
These have been great! Looking forward to the rest!
Great job, with the updated savage species! Great show!
Love these videos. I want to play my Dwarves again so bad!
I feel as if the Forgotten Realms Dwarves are my least favorite version of Dwarves.
But certain aspects of them are very interesting. So the Dwarves in my games will be a hodgepodge of many different versions
I like the idea of dwarves as oil barons. "Oh, you need the shiny coins? I got a bucket of them here somewhere..."
I'm going to start a Dwarf Playlist. Mr. Rhexx's videos and Shadiversity's videos.
Ive been waiting thank you for this
I'm loving all these "What they don't tell you" vids. When are you going to do one about Hobgoblins? I'm playing one now and I'm sick of always explaining to the rest of the party that I'm *supposed* to be intelligent and disciplined.
Lol, I didn't watch this video for 4 days since I thought I had already watched it. Turns out that this was actually a new video.
What is up! Glad to see some new lore videos. Do you think you might be able to do something on what they don't tell us about artificers? I feel like there is a lit more than what is on the surface from the islands of artificers and even on sigil where it would be an artificer's dream with all of the strange contraptions and mechanical things
“Dwarves are like oil princes.” I died 😂😂
The more I learn about D&D and Parks and Recreation, the more I realize that Ron Swanson may, in fact, be an avatar of Moradin.
Awesome video!!! Thank you.
I'm literally thinking about getting a tattoo that says Grim mystery laced with sadness and pride.
What's the name of the metal at 15:13? Google isn't showing me anything.
Hizagkuur
Yessss. I tried to listen another TH-cam guy but it was not the same
Mr Rhexx you do us Dwarves justice.
I bought the digital copy for my players...I can't wait to watch them utilize it
ROCK AND STONE

Always nice to listen
