I loved this movie as a kid. That being said, the first couple of times I watched it, I only watched about the first forty minutes, as we had a pretty bad dvr that could not record movies. I can not even begin to explain how obsessed I was with Simon & Milo. I was about 11 or 12 when I heard Get A Clue on Disney, obviously, and this song sent all the little dopamines into my little ADHD brain and I had to have the album. I begged and begged and begged. It was one of the few albums that I actually had a real physical copy of (my dad used to just pirate music for me lol music is expensive!) and I listened to that CD nonstop. Before this album, everything music wise that I listened to was either something my dad found and vetted before letting me listen to it, or it was Christian pop/alternative music. I'm also pretty sure that their song "Be As" was the beginning of my leftist awakening and I didn't even know it. I remember not entirely knowing what "gay" was when I heard it in the song, but figured it couldn't be a bad thing. Then, my family went on a road trip and I asked to play my Simon & Milo song in the car, because that album slaps. My dad really liked them initially until we got to the song "Be As," and I just remember both of my parents being like, "yeeeaaahhhhh... I don't know if you can really listen to this album anymore..." and I had no idea why. I got SUPER upset. After begging, pleading and crying, it turned into only not being able to listen to that specific song. But, of course, the little rebellious devil in me still would listen to that song with the rest of the album over and over and over again. You can't stop me mom and dad! Also, in retrospect I think this album also was when I very, very subconsciously realized I liked girls too. I remember something about their song "Pretty Girls" with the line "Pretty Girls make me nervous," that made me feel weird inside, which realizing years and years later, it was because pretty girls made me nervous too. So basically Simon & Milo turned me into a leftist bisexual.
The teacher's/fugitive's name Petrosian is armenian, not russian. Well, he can be a russian-armenian. There are a lot of armenian ppl in Russia. What I find funny is that the actor himself seems to be of hispanic descent, his last name is Gomez. Hollywood loves to be like "we are gonna cast any person with high contrast dark hair as armenian, arabic, hispanic, native american, georgian, spaniard, romani and italian. Hey, there's no difference".
I would love a remake of this movie where everything is more or less the same, but unexplained crimes happen in the background. Like a guy runs out of a bodega with a knife and a bag of money and Lexi is all like, "That lady's shoes mean she's cheating on her wife!" or we see someone is kidnapped off to the side but Lexi doesn't notice because she's convinced someone is lying about their weight.
It’s insane how much of this movie I had completely forgotten. Especially since I loved Lindsay and Brenda! The first part of this movie is kinda pg-13 I’m a lil shocked Disney was cool with showing us this kid spying on the love life of her teachers? Lmao.
As someone who struggles with severe depression, your videos are one of the only things bringing me joy these days. When nothing else can, you make me genuinly laugh out loud. I am so thankful for you and your content 💕
This movie was so fun and chic to me at the time. Like it was a mystery moment but also fashion-y and the Barbie: Spy Squad dolls had come out around this time period too so it all just clicked. Maybe it doesn't hold up but it was definitely a fun time. May Brenda Song continue to be blessed and employed LOL
Absolutely could not pass watching this up the moment I saw it on my sub feed Get a Clue was my FAVORITE movie growing up, with that theme song stuck in my head even now, so glad to revisit it.
I suspect it's her mother's job that is responsible for the top floor that is their home. The father is a working journalist, and I'm guessing his salary is good but not as big.
I admit, I still remember how their cover got blown when the teacher says he brought half. It doesn't sound like something that would tip the thief off until it's revealed that he's after a diamond, which is hard to, um, bring "half" of. I was never super into this movie, but that bit was a good detail that actually contributes to the mystery, I always liked it.
Love your clip breakdowns! Would love to put these movies up for consideration: - Catch That Kid -Kid heist movie with young Kristen Stewart and Corbin Bleu (pre high school musical) -Blank Check - The very problematic disney movie -Sugar and Spice -Cheerleader heist movie -No Sleep Until Christmas - Christmas romcom Thanks for all the work you put into your videos. Have learnt lots about film production from your videos.
Yes Sugar and Spice!! The one cheerleader that was completely obsessed with Conan O'Brien! Oh man I forgot all about that movie. I freaking loved that movie when I was younger
Just call me stupid effing Hemingway because your thing about watching an older sis play sims spoke to my heart. I can still hear the theme songs in my head.
Lmao yeah reading that first sentence it kind of makes sense why they didn’t want little kids knowing the bands name 😅 def would have raised some brows if that came from a 10 yr old

i always think of that as the movie that ruined her career. the media was already trying to drive her off a cliff for, yknow, partying away some of the trauma of being a child star. making a bad movie was the nail in the coffin.
Omg i was really young when i saw this so i only have vague memories of it even existing, but i do distinctly remember being very scared of the teacher lady with short hair because they made her seem so creepy. When she first showed up in the clips here, i legit had a ptsd flashback 💀
I know I saw this movie when I was younger but I remembered virtually none of it until they showed the teacher tied up in the spa. That part scared me so much when I was a kid
i LOVED the y2k aesthetic & spy gear in this movie when it first came out, and lexi gold seemed like a fashion icon to 13 year old me who dressed like the lone survivor in a zombie apocalypse lol
This was one of my favorite DCOMs as a kid! Though it's definitely not as good as I remembered it being. Also, this was legitimately the movie I used to think people were referring to when they mentioned Clueless lol. (And Toast is precious, by the way!)
this was my #1, I was so into spy stuff and Nancy Drew. Rewatching it, the plot is hella thin and the idea of Brooklyn being weird and unfashionable is LAUGHABLE! It was so quotable too "Get with the Planet"
I watched this right after waking up, and fell asleep after, so I thought I dreamed the Pomeranian.... I watched the video again, and demand to see a full episode dedicated to her!
the way 6 year old me had absolutely no idea what was going on when i first watched this movie. i thought "blackmail" meant a waterlogged piece of paper.
". . . Does the word FUNGI mean anything to you?" -- favorite Brenda line The Parent Trap is my favorite Disney Lohan film. Get A Clue is my favorite Lohan DCOM. ☺️
06:20 This comment reminds me of how I felt about Cher's dressing room set-up in "Clueless": The computer interface that allowed her to basically play dress-up, putting together the perfect ensemble with just a press of the screen. But as I got older, I envied the technology less and the ability to wear cute outfits like hers more. (I was a frumpy SoCal tween in the 90s, so I wore boys' cargo pants in the winter and JNCO shorts in the summer - always with an oversized long-sleeved flannel shirt either on my shoulders or tied around my waist.)
I feel really bad for both Lindsay Lohan & Bug Hall, as both were severely, negatively affected by their time as child actors, with the latter stating he was abused s*xually. I honestly wouldn't be surprised, given how prevalent p*dophilia is in the entertainment industries. Which, apparently goes back to the film industry's inception & beyond.
It might not a dcom, but I would LOVE to see you do a breakdown of any episodes of Andi Mack that you can find. Disney+ still only has like 2 episodes in each season, but I remember it being super good and not afraid to tackle pretty heavy subject material and having pretty good representation (from what I remember, its been a while).
The main thing that stuck with me from this movie was the actress playing Ms. Dawson's consistently...bizarre....performance during every interaction. So....just...weird. I used to foster American Bulldog rescues back in Hollywood all the time. So rewarding. But challenging. Haha.
The most memorable part of this movie was the song. Which I will indulge my teen nostalgia and find on YT right now. Good review, Nick. BTW very cute pupper, keep us updated on her progress.❤️
11 year old me was obsessed with this movie when it came out. I went back and rewatched it after your breakdown and I’m dying at how ridiculous it is 😂😂😂😂😂. Middle school students solving a case that involves a missing person, embezzlement, money laundering, a possible murder and fraud; the FBI is shooketh 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Love your commentary Nick. You’re the best!
Nick that song has lived rent free in my head for 20 years!!!!! Love you and what you do, your videos make my day. 💕 I’d be really interested to hear your thoughts on Motocrossed, as a baby bisexual it was a very important movie to me and would love to hear your thoughts on it.
I mostly remember this movie from the Theme Song (which is a certified banger and I do still think about it from time to time even 20 years later) and I also remember the iconic fashions. I also thought it was so powerful that Lindsay Lohan and Brenda Song starred in a movie together.
THAT GET A CLUE SONG was featured on disneys great skate adventure on the gamecube and that games entire soundtrack has ingrained in my mind (i also liked this movie but remember almost nothing from it now)
The song Get a Clue was my favorite as a kid, it still holds up to this day! I wish I remembered anything about the movie it’s from lol can’t wait for this clip breakdown!!
Every time I watch your videos I end up with like 37 different hilarious things you've said I go to quote or comment on, but there are just so many lop...you are one of the only people on her who truly makes me laugh out loud 🙌
i really loved this movie too, but i just realized i was 16 when it came out so now i’m having an existential crisis… and i still get that opening song stuck in my head periodically.
I remember listening to Prozac a few years before this movie came out because my best friend got me into them. I remember seeing this movie and being really excited about their music and being confused by them now being Simon and Milo lol. Then I saw Lindsay and Brenda in this movie and I was even more excited and this was one of my favorites for a while too
I still have a CD that I got from a toaster strudel box for some reason advertising this movie. It only had three songs but I played that baby on repeat!
I watched this movie when I was 6 on a VHS recording was missing the first 20 minutes or so. And for some reason, I assumed the villain turned out to be Lindsay's dad? So weird.

omg literally exactly what i thought... glad you pointed it out:')))
was looking for this comment lol
I would love a remake of this movie where everything is more or less the same, but unexplained crimes happen in the background. Like a guy runs out of a bodega with a knife and a bag of money and Lexi is all like, "That lady's shoes mean she's cheating on her wife!" or we see someone is kidnapped off to the side but Lexi doesn't notice because she's convinced someone is lying about their weight.
A kid version, or an adult remake with Lindsay? Better yet, why not a sequel? I'd love to see Lindsay Lohan in a gritty murder-mystery.
This is a phenomenal idea! 😂
@@poppinc8145 Yeah I'd only want a sequel if Lindsay is still the star of it
@@noemistephanie93 Maybe Lindsay can be the mom but since this is a movie made for kids, I think having a child as the star would make more sense.
Nick being excited about his puppy playing with her toy on her own is so adorable. A relatable dog parent moment! 🐕
I can still hear the theme song from this movie clearly in my head!! So glad you are covering this one, Nick!
SAAAAAAME! it was such 👏🏿 a 👏🏿 bop 👏🏿
"watching my sisters play sims for hours on end" oh my god. im glad someone else has this core childhood memory of mine lmao.
hahah it was so boringggg watching them!
It’s insane how much of this movie I had completely forgotten. Especially since I loved Lindsay and Brenda! The first part of this movie is kinda pg-13 I’m a lil shocked Disney was cool with showing us this kid spying on the love life of her teachers? Lmao.
That was definitely inspired by the plot line in clueless
As someone who struggles with severe depression, your videos are one of the only things bringing me joy these days. When nothing else can, you make me genuinly laugh out loud. I am so thankful for you and your content 💕
This movie was so fun and chic to me at the time. Like it was a mystery moment but also fashion-y and the Barbie: Spy Squad dolls had come out around this time period too so it all just clicked. Maybe it doesn't hold up but it was definitely a fun time.
May Brenda Song continue to be blessed and employed LOL
Absolutely could not pass watching this up the moment I saw it on my sub feed
Get a Clue was my FAVORITE movie growing up, with that theme song stuck in my head even now, so glad to revisit it.
Nick as a Dog-foster-parent is too precious for my soul.
nothing ever makes me happier that we're the same age than when you do early-mid 2000s media nick
"we see the mother once in this movie"
Yeah and she should be happy it wasn't to watch her have a tragic Disney mom death.
The first movie I watched after getting Disney+ was Muppet Treasure Island. The second was Get a Clue. I have no regrets and I’d do it again.
Love your clip breakdowns!
Would love to put these movies up for consideration:
- Catch That Kid
-Kid heist movie with young Kristen Stewart and Corbin Bleu (pre high school musical)
-Blank Check
- The very problematic disney movie
-Sugar and Spice
-Cheerleader heist movie
-No Sleep Until Christmas
- Christmas romcom
Thanks for all the work you put into your videos.
Have learnt lots about film production from your videos.
Yes Sugar and Spice!! The one cheerleader that was completely obsessed with Conan O'Brien! Oh man I forgot all about that movie. I freaking loved that movie when I was younger
As a kid I was obsessed with Lindsay's wardrobe in this movie, still am!! So many memories 😊💫
Watched the whole thing immediately, I love reliving childhood movies with your commentary !
Just call me stupid effing Hemingway because your thing about watching an older sis play sims spoke to my heart. I can still hear the theme songs in my head.
I got pretty into Prozak because of my obsession with that song. It's fun, poppy, and catchy. And it was the main reason I loved this movie lmaooo
cool a non-canadian into Prozzak!! they're touring with Aqua again ^^
Lmao yeah reading that first sentence it kind of makes sense why they didn’t want little kids knowing the bands name 😅 def would have raised some brows if that came from a 10 yr old
@@310BPM That is glorious news! I don't think I'll be able to go, but I am wholly behind it!
i knew i recognised keenan macwilliam in this! she starred in the saddle club as carol, which i absolutely adored growing up. maybe you should cover it one day…
Yes I loved the saddle club! When I rewatched this movie years ago I was like “THATS CAROL!!”
Whoa, I never knew the Saddle Club books were adapted into a TV show!
@@amityislandchum no way?? i’ve not read the books so, i have no clue if it’s a faithful adaptation of the novels but it was a fun, little show while it lasted! all of the episodes are available on here if you ever want to give it a watch.
so sweet of you to foster. especially one who seems to be cuddle averse, i know i would have a hard time not picking her up, she’s so cute! but i’m guessing she hasn’t had the greatest experience with people in the past, hopefully her time with you will help her regain some of that trust. anyway, you’re hilarious as usual you have more wit and humor in your pinky finger than i probably ever have had in my life? wish i could think of funny things to say off the cuff like that!
I would love to see you do Girl interrupted. That movie was one that traumatized me as a kid.
Oh my god 😂😂 when you put Kevin’s scream over Lindsay I laughed for way way way too long 🥺 you are so funny I cant 😂
this was actually my fav L.L. Disney movie! I LOVED the costumes, that it gave lil harriet the spy moments, and that theme song! yeah this is a top 3 Lindsay movie for me
The fact that I looked away right as you said, “Look at me,” was a trip. Can you actually see me?? Hahaha
oh my god Nick please watch Just My Luck starring Lindsey Lohan and Chris Pine. it did not age well at ALL and it's basically sponsored by McFLy for some reason
i always think of that as the movie that ruined her career. the media was already trying to drive her off a cliff for, yknow, partying away some of the trauma of being a child star. making a bad movie was the nail in the coffin.
i second this ! we need a lindsey lohan series in general
lol
He should react to the Canyons with Lohan and pornstar James Deen, that movie makes no sense
Ngl, I really got into McFly after that movie. Still listening to them in 2022 😭
Omg yes!
I watched get a clue like 30 times as a kid and to this day i have no idea what the plot was
Omg i was really young when i saw this so i only have vague memories of it even existing, but i do distinctly remember being very scared of the teacher lady with short hair because they made her seem so creepy. When she first showed up in the clips here, i legit had a ptsd flashback 💀
I know I saw this movie when I was younger but I remembered virtually none of it until they showed the teacher tied up in the spa. That part scared me so much when I was a kid
This movie freaked me out so much when I was a little kid. The scene where they find Ms. Dawson tied up was so scary to me.
Omg your Pom is such a polite little doggie! The way she was gently giving you her paw. Awwww. Congrats!
I’ve looked up the “get a clue” song on TH-cam at my own volition multiple times because I unironically enjoy it😂
i LOVED the y2k aesthetic & spy gear in this movie when it first came out,
and lexi gold seemed like a fashion icon to 13 year old me who dressed like the lone survivor in a zombie apocalypse lol
Had a 48 hr migraine and spent the whole time with your video playlist going. Thanks for being my comfort channel!!
You having three different drinks up there is such a mood.
I watched this right after waking up, and fell asleep after, so I thought I dreamed the Pomeranian.... I watched the video again, and demand to see a full episode dedicated to her!
That image of the teacher tied up literally haunted me as a child
OMG Nick your foster baby is such a sweetie! She’s very lucky to have you taking care of her ❤️❤️
I was so deep into Bug Hall when I was 13 that the rest of the movie could have just been static and I still would have watched it.
I just read that he became Catholic, moved to a farm and took a vow of poverty! Didn't see that coming.
You should look up his Instagram dude is an extremist bigot weirdo now sadly
@@ANYHOO0 whatever you do, don’t look up his Twitter. He umm… took a wild turn
This is still a comfort movie for me to this day! Whenever I can’t sleep, I put it on and let the nonsense lull me to sleep
the way 6 year old me had absolutely no idea what was going on when i first watched this movie. i thought "blackmail" meant a waterlogged piece of paper.
brenda song really carried every disney movie and tv show she was in
". . . Does the word FUNGI mean anything to you?" -- favorite Brenda line
The Parent Trap is my favorite Disney Lohan film.
Congrats on being a new dad! 🥰 I can't imagine a better parent for Toast than you.
I LOVED Prozac's "Sucks To Be You" back in the day!!! I now sing it to my kids when they complain about each other to me.
This comment made me snort!😅
I feel really bad for both Lindsay Lohan & Bug Hall, as both were severely, negatively affected by their time as child actors, with the latter stating he was abused s*xually. I honestly wouldn't be surprised, given how prevalent p*dophilia is in the entertainment industries. Which, apparently goes back to the film industry's inception & beyond.
Prozzäk is amazing! Simon's voice is magical and technologicly whimsical! Saturday People is still one of my favorite albums
Haha.
AHAHAHAHA you're right, that is what I remember, it was as if something was about to happen, but never did. She was SO weird!
I absolutely did NOT expect an accidental 2012 era Amazingphil reference in this video when you said there could be babies watching
Oh my gosh... all I remember of this movie is the crimped strips of hair on Lindsay. It has been burned into my memory years upon years later
I love "The Nanny" reference. One of my FAVE TV sitcoms! 💕
I still remember every word to "Get a Clue"...that theme went hard.
The most memorable part of this movie was the song. Which I will indulge my teen nostalgia and find on YT right now. Good review, Nick. BTW very cute pupper, keep us updated on her progress.❤️
niiiick you have to do the parent trap!!
also i’m so excited for the halloween movies you’ll cover ❤️❤️
Thats so weird, I was _just_ saying Prozzak's nevergetoveryou would be my Vecna song. The musics timeless, people
I used to be obsessed with Bug Hall and would watch all of his movies. I haven't seen the stupids in forever and I hope it's as good as I remember
You’re the best!
the way this shaped my childhood as a ginger named lexy. im still omw to being a private investigator 😂😂😂🥰🥰
Nick that song has lived rent free in my head for 20 years!!!!! Love you and what you do, your videos make my day. 💕
I’d be really interested to hear your thoughts on Motocrossed, as a baby bisexual it was a very important movie to me and would love to hear your thoughts on it.
i was literally just on your channel no more than 10 minutes ago thinking about a new video from you and then, it appears! thank you nick!
Watching that spy scene just unearthed the memory of me annoying the absolute hell out of my mom to take me to spy shops after this movie came out
I mostly remember this movie from the Theme Song (which is a certified banger and I do still think about it from time to time even 20 years later) and I also remember the iconic fashions. I also thought it was so powerful that Lindsay Lohan and Brenda Song starred in a movie together.
THAT GET A CLUE SONG was featured on disneys great skate adventure on the gamecube and that games entire soundtrack has ingrained in my mind (i also liked this movie but remember almost nothing from it now)
that’s the best soundtrack
The song Get a Clue was my favorite as a kid, it still holds up to this day! I wish I remembered anything about the movie it’s from lol can’t wait for this clip breakdown!!
Every time I watch your videos I end up with like 37 different hilarious things you've said I go to quote or comment on, but there are just so many lop...you are one of the only people on her who truly makes me laugh out loud 🙌
I know of them as Simon and Milo, that’s how they introduce themselves on their cd, ready ready set go. To this day that cd is still full of bops.
I love these late uploads, just what I needed! 💕
yayyy im so glad!
when you dubbed in kevin’s scream omggggg 😭😂 that was so perfect
i really loved this movie too, but i just realized i was 16 when it came out so now i’m having an existential crisis… and i still get that opening song stuck in my head periodically.
THE WAY YOU LAUGHED "7th inning stretch" I laughed the same way LMFAO
So weird.
Prozzak is really a lost relic of the early 2000s..."sucks to be you" still gets stuck in my head.
I can and can't believe this movie is TWENTY FREAKING YEARS OLD
Finally! I’ve wanted you to review this for so long. Thank you!
Thank you for reminding me of this amazing movie, Nick! This is quite the throwback 😅
Good think Lexi got her bracelet off that boiler pipe. Almost had her like “BALENCIAGAAAAA”
"Boiled hot dog lifestyle" is sending me😂😂
Was just looking for something to watch and I just got so happy! Never stop doing clip breakdowns💞
