ok the scene where olivia is basically going off on wen because he has no right to feel sorry for himself doesn't really sit right with me tbh. like of course the fact that her mom is dead and that she doesn't have any memories of her and that her father is prison so she can't see him must be a very difficult thing to go through, but who is she to tell wen that he can't be upset that his dad is marrying someone new??? like sure maybe that doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal, but to him it is and she doesn't have a right to undermine his feelings like that by basically implying that she has it worse so he can't be sad. idk rewatching the movie as an adult i don't really like that part, but maybe it's just me lmao
I feel like it was less about invalidating his feelings and more about making him realize what he has. Sure he has the right to his feelings, but he was being incredibly rude to Sydney and shutting down every attempt she made to connect with him in any way. I think his father could've handled it better, but for someone like Olivia hearing him repeatedly complain about something she would kill for was just too much. And it did help him open up to Sydney.
As somebody who deals with a lot of step parent drama I kind of understand and honestly I do think that it could have been handled better but I think it was meant to be her her snapping at him after being tired of hearing About how awful it was that his dad was dating someone after everything she's been through she should never undermine his feelings but she also has the right to voice her own feelings He should have said something back though because it shouldn't have been seen as OK that she said that
Tbh, this had better characters than HSM and Camp Rock. And while not everything was fully fleshed out, it was still better-relatable. Also Determinate was lit.
That's what I was thinking. Although I wasn't into Lemonade Mouth, I could see why people like it. In terms of relatability, LM is 5x better. While HSM and Camp Rock are fun watches and good, you can't really relate to their plot lines. I didn't watch Camp Rock and hoped to go to an art camp after, and HSM was a lost cause for me, but I did watch Lemonade Mouth and thought it _could_ happen.
always wondered why Mo just wasn't the main singer. I'm so tired of the trope of the shy singer, i just wish they would've let the blond one switch places w Mo and then be like "oh, i do prefer being here w my bass" or whatver.
I love how so many Disney movies had that “I’m [insert quirky person/group that school authorities don’t like]” scene. Like “I’m radio rebel”, “I’m lemonade mouth” , etc 😂😂 Also...maybe a radio rebel clip break down would be fun..? 😉 thank you Nick for making us all laugh in these crazy times!
honestly I'd love to see a Radio Rebel clip breakdown. I watched Lemonade Mouth when it came out (I was like, 13 i think? and was super into it - esp. the music), and when Radio Rebel came out even I, who lived for the "[insert quirky person/group that school authorities don't like]" couldn't help but notice how weak RR's entire setup/story was compared to LM. PLEASE Nick please

@@angelwings967 point is it was better received than either of those movies. My biggest issue with this movie with this movie is something I noticed when my sibling and me were watching. If this whole movie is supposed to be a letter to our MC's dad in prison, HOW WAS SHE GETTING THE OTHER POINTS OF VIEW?! And why include all their dumb issues when it literally overshadowed her and their bands escapades?
Oh man, YeS. Like, I know it's been done to death by just about everyone on YT but now that you've brought it up, I so need Nick to shred it in new and creative ways.
Nick, if you can hear your neighbor's toilet flushing then you have to come to the same realization I did... If I can hear them coughing, then they can probably hear me listening to Everybody by the Backstreet Boys on repeat... Or you talking to yourself about watching Lifetime and Disney channel movies.
Danny Gonzalez did a video about Lemonade Mouth and I didn’t think I’d ever see something funnier until I watched this. And that is in no way a dig at Danny, I am Greg, I just *~live, love, laugh~* at Nick’s ruthless commentary.

This is the era I started aging out of disney channel so I'm aware of some these actors/characters but don't know them well. But I have to say there's such a difference in eras from the best parts of dcoms like 13th year and Johnny tsunami all the way the highschool musical. Then for me it took a sharp turn down in quality in the 2010s
Agreed. Shake It Off, Sonny With A Chance and Dog With A Blog were fucking awful. I think Disney has gotten a bit better in recent years. Maddie and Liv was okay. Raven's Home is okay. Tangled was great. I'm even a sucker for the Descendants movies. But the early 10s were pretty awful.

"The athletes get to leave school, or eat better lunches or something." No joke my high school was like this. Grew up in a football town where everyone in town has nothing better to do than watch high school football whether they have kids on the team or not. I always thought it was weird but when all you have is a ghost town bowling alley, and a run down movie theater what else are you going to do? Generally speaking athletes were carried through grades even if they completely flunked, allowed to skip ahead of everyone in the lunch lines, were given the better food options without charge, and were allowed to go back up again and get as many servings as they wanted. We even had a little food cart in the cafeteria that sold better hot foods and energy drinks, it wasn't part of the school lunch program and you had to pay to eat there. Jocks got vouchers to get free pizza and energy drinks at lunches not specified that it had to be their lunches either, so a lot of people would just hang out in the cafeteria during classes. And on top of that if you were over 16 you could just come and go from the school as you pleased so not only athletes but their friends, girlfriends and the stoners would just dip in and out of school to go to coffee shops, and come back to hang out with friends. Our truancy officer really seemed like he was sleeping on the job most of the time. Athletes never got into trouble for anything and even if they did something worth going to the principles office or getting suspended it was always a friendly pat on the back, don't do it again you've got your future to think about, and an ISS (In School Suspension) at worst. Which really means you still come to school and get to roam around the halls and library without having to go to class or do any work since our ISS guy didn't really give a shit. Despite all the special privilege's though there wasn't really rampant bullying in our high school. I think everyone got that out of their systems in elementary and middle school because by high school everyone was so far up their own asses they didn't have time to harass anyone else but their own friends and followers.
Right? My school’s entire volleyball team got busted for pot my senior year AND THEY WERE ALLOWED TO KEEP PLAYING? Meanwhile I played basketball and was tardy a few times and was threatened to be kicked off the team? Like okay lol

@@mikaellerousse "she's so gone" comes back to me every once in a LONG while and I always go back to listen to it
ok the scene where olivia is basically going off on wen because he has no right to feel sorry for himself doesn't really sit right with me tbh. like of course the fact that her mom is dead and that she doesn't have any memories of her and that her father is prison so she can't see him must be a very difficult thing to go through, but who is she to tell wen that he can't be upset that his dad is marrying someone new??? like sure maybe that doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal, but to him it is and she doesn't have a right to undermine his feelings like that by basically implying that she has it worse so he can't be sad. idk rewatching the movie as an adult i don't really like that part, but maybe it's just me lmao
Yeah I had a friend like that, I could never have any bad feelings because she would just invalidate me constantly
As somebody who deals with a lot of step parent drama I kind of understand and honestly I do think that it could have been handled better but I think it was meant to be her her snapping at him after being tired of hearing About how awful it was that his dad was dating someone after everything she's been through she should never undermine his feelings but she also has the right to voice her own feelings He should have said something back though because it shouldn't have been seen as OK that she said that
i get that but tbh i think olivia was tired of the constant complaning
That part makes me furious, especially knowing how men are, especially after a divorce, as an adult.
And then the entire audience goes “I am Radio Rebel!” Oh wrong movie, sorry
“Five minutes into ba ba black sheep” girl how long is your rendition?
Omg I thought the exact same thing 😂 I had to rewind that part I was like 5 mins?? Did I hear that right??

I love how so many Disney movies had that “I’m [insert quirky person/group that school authorities don’t like]” scene. Like “I’m radio rebel”, “I’m lemonade mouth” , etc 😂😂
Also...maybe a radio rebel clip break down would be fun..? 😉

honestly I'd love to see a Radio Rebel clip breakdown.
40:19 Wait a minute. The school obviously doesn't care where the lemonade machine ends up so one of the kids should have brought it to their house. They could just order refills every month.

Lemonade mouth actually has the highest audience review score out of the camp rock AND high school musical series.
Audiences will literally watch anything. So.
@@angelwings967 point is it was better received than either of those movies. I certainly liked Lemonade Mouth more than either of them because I preferred the music and because the characters felt more realistic.
