One day, my mom, sister and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when a lady asked for help, saying she got locked out of her house and was trapped in the backyard. Hearing that “Good Life” song again unlocked some memories from elementary school, don’t know why, never even knew this movie existed until now, but apparently the song was being played on the radio in the early 2000’s for some reason 🤷♀️
The original song is by "Thee Getaway People" and it's actually pretty good. It's my favorite song by them. I don't know why it got butchered for this movie though.
It's really weird, it's like most of their give a fuck when it comes to quality goes out the window at random times, like the parks usually get/got most of the attention when it comes to quality, except when they were cutting corners after euro disney tanked, and usually they really go for quality with their major theatrical releases, but their d-coms were/are all over the place in terms of quality, like you get stuff like zenon, Halloween town, under wraps, or cadet Kelly and then you get shit like this where they clearly paid someone who was either inexperienced, or didn't give a shit to right this hot mess.
When I was 13, I thought every DCOM was a cultural reset. I vividly remember asking my mother for the soundtrack without even knowing there was one, I just inherently knew from the emphasis on the songs that there had to be a soundtrack.
This unearthed hidden memories in me of the weird 2000s romcom TAKING 5 where some girls kidnap a boyband and keep them in their basement. I'd love to see that one picked apart, oh my god.
you know what movie I was obsessed with as a kid speaking of DCOMS was "Read it and Weap" (weep?) I literally wanted one of those laptops like she had where it turned into a tablet she could draw on so bad. And now I have one haha.

i haven't remembered this movie at all since it basically came out and i was 6 but as soon as you started showing clips, they all came back to me like war flashbacks. the couch tipping over, the flip flops, the old house rescue. "we'll all MATCH." them all opening the locker and saying "hi Jordan" followed by them blowing kisses. I don't know why this movie was pushed to the recesses of my mind and is now flooding back to me. im a little scared what other memories might come back with it hahaha
Also wasnt Taryn on Moodys Point from the Amanda show? At least that’s what I really remember him from. So by the time this came out he seemed SO OLD to me and it was just weird to watch
Yep! 😂 I guess he would have been 17-19 on the Amanda Show
YES and then as a teenager/young adult seeing Taran Killam on SNL??? I WAS SENT.
Oh my god I think I remember him,
Was he the boyfriend/guy friend that tried to asked Moody to the prom or something but ended going up with the loud girl that kept hitting him when she asked for punch?
That was the best sketch segment of the show.
I always wanted it be a spin-off and have more seasons.
@@beautyandtheoffbeats YES I THINK HIS NAME WAS STERNUM?!??
Exactly how I remember it too 😂
the haircut being on the news gave me flashbacks to when justin bieber cut his hair and 16 year old me had a small breakdown
Did Nick just make a 'Matilda' reference in reply babysitting...? Oh God is Nick secretly Miss Trunchbull?!
What you mean "secretly", bish?? We been knew. If you think
Queen Trunchbull would just quietly retreat into the shadows & allow Miss Honey & Mini Carrie a single day of peace.......
That Jesse McCartney song had a vise grip on me back in the day.
ugh me with she’s no you in 2005
Mine was Because You Live
Jesse McCartney in general 😂
My bestfriend and I are now 24 years old and she still has the songs from this movie on apple music and listens all the time lmao...
um, 27 here and SAME. thought I was the only one. Chelsea Daniels really put her whole pü$$y into that one song.
I have the CD still 🙈
You singing Stacie Orrico threw me through a time portal back to the days of middle school 😭 Also, I never realized how the girls just magically knew that his dogs weren’t around or that he played frisbee golf. Would it have been better to show them going through the phone once the brother cracked it and them seeing pictures of the dogs and maybe even a picture of him holding trophy with frisbee golf champ on it all dated from some time ago? That also tells us that his phone holds his life and memories…
I barely even remember this movie. I remember thinking it had a good title but I remember literally NOTHING else lol. Some of Disney's most forgettable work
I remember the announcer's voice on the ads that played for it constantly lol
I always wanted a group of friends to topple the couch with as a kid because of this movie 😂 It's the only part of this movie I actually remember though...
Hi Savy, Love your channel! Its so nice to see you in here.
Hey Savy 👋
I love your channel!!!
"Honk if you feel sorry for me" is an iconic line and was imbedded into my dna
Nah, I'm not even a lawyer and I can tell ya that isn't a hit and run. The dude ran himself into the back of their car like a dipshit; they didn't hit him.
I only know Taran Killam from SNL and now every scene I see with him feels like the lead-up to a punchline
Please do a clip breakdown of Cheaper by the Dozen! Such an iconic cast
I would love if he did The Color of Friendship .... it was such a trail blazing movie for its time for the Disney Channel and the outfits were **chef's kiss**
Yes! That was my favorite!
I mightve actually purchased that movie on Amazon a few years ago and it actually kinda holds up? Probably the most real/up front addressing if race relations Disney will ever do.
I love The Color Of Friendship. If I didn’t know it was a Disney channel movie I’d never guess it was. I think it was the last time Disney did a DCOM that was a serious movie based in real life.
@@dawnboyer3190 Wrong, it wasn't the last time. There was Tru Confessions, which starred Shia LaBeouf as a kid who struggles with a developmental disability and showcases how it affects his family (especially his older sister), Tiger Cruise, which starred Hayden Pannetiere and was based around 9/11, and Going To the Mat, which starred Andrew Lawrence as a blind guy who also gets into wrestling
The way it felt like this movie didn't exist
You're bringing back deep buried memories
Yeeeees .... my lost memories are being unLOCKED lmao
@@natalierose1072 like this movie called You Wish! with Miranda from Lizzie McGuire
Lucky penny movie that wasn't Luck of the Irish 😭 thank God for Google or else I'd swear these films were just dreams I had once
please do “my date with the presidents daughter”! it used to be on disney all the time when i was like 8 lol
I LOVED that movie because of the 👁️ ring
I want one of those crotchet plants so bad!!! Ps I can’t believe Brenda Song is Macaulay Culkins baby mama.
they're actually so cute lol - they take their cat for walks in a stroller, icon behaviour
She is WHOS WHAT
@@ashmorehouse8016 I do like then as a couple. Super cute! It’s just funny looking back in her Disney days knowing where she is now. Like random
@matchafields o yeah they met through Seth Green apparently
I love them as a couple!
I think it’s cool that you reference your past with addiction and aren’t ashamed. I just got clean myself about a year ago off of hard stuff. Your channel is really awesome and you have very insightful observations about these movies! Your comedic roasting skills are on point as well ❤️ ps sorry for that last comment if you saw it
‘I’m a busy mom with busy kids. That’s why we make Tyson Anytizers’ On point! 😂😂
As another person named Natasha (and a Gemini), this isn't the first time I've heard someone say "Attention: Natasha is a messy liar and I've got all the receipts to prove it."
Anyway thanks for your videos Nick, you are hilarious and always brighten my day.
I remember hating when this movie would come on but clicking back to it from time to time to see the chaotic outfits of Brenda Song
Brenda is Bratz chic. Idc idc
I remember as a kid being so disturbed that the claps during the dance scene are not even close to being on beat. Even at age 8, I was like “why would they choose this take?” Yes, I was a theater kid.
Course you were. Swear, yall are like vegans. No one asked; yet you have to shoe horn it into every conversation.

You just keep coming with this exceptional content. I literally get so excited every time I see you posted.
omg thank you so much that makes me so happy!
Bro, your videos literally keep me laughing like a lunatic all day long at work. I’ve got one headphone in and I’m certain my coworkers think I’m laughing at them. Love your work buddy- keep up the great work!
Hah I love taran killam on snl. I’m surprised to see his early 2000’s chunky highlight mom cut here, though.
Brenda Song in this movie was 100% my style icon as a kid. The hair, the earrings, the fashion. I was absolutely convinced she was the epitome of cool. My little closeted lesbian heart was obsessed 🤩
Same!🙈😂
"me seeing the Babadook at the pride parade" you, sir, are still the funniest man on TH-cam
"They're not authorized to reply verbally." I cackled in a taxi and scared the driver
This is one of those plots that could happen under certain circumstances, but would realistically NEVER happen.
Everytime I think of Brenda Song I remember that she has kid with Macaulay Culkin and they seem to have a really sweet wholesome relationship together
The mom's face in the car is me. Not just at this dry ass movie, but at just being alive in general
I read this before getting to that part and now I'm envisioning a mom in the carpool lane with the face in your profile.
She was the most relatable person in a Disney channel movie I've ever seen. I want the manager to give her whatever she demands, she deserves it!
🤣🤣

Your videos are becoming SOOO well done like even cleaner and funner editing and we are noticing the details! Amazing work!!
Pleaseeee do read it and weap it’s like a fever dream in my mind
okay, can we all just agree that Brenda song had like some of the best outfits on Disney Channel? 💁🏾♀️
Not to be “that guy,” but didn’t CHEETAH GIRLS come out before this? Wouldn’t that be the first DCOM with its own soundtrack?
I’d Google that for you but I just don’t care that much.

damn was just trying to find a video of yours i hadn’t watched too many times 😭
YAYYY I love to hear it!!

this movie is cringe but i remember wanting to dress like brenda song’s character so bad lmao.
She was the moment 😍
I love this channel so much lol. My coworkers probably think I'm crazy because I keep snorting randomly and I have the youtube tab hidden so it looks like I'm just laughing at an excel spreadsheet
Binge watching your channel is a terrible idea right now. I just had an ovarian cystectomy and it hurts to laugh, but dammit you're so funny and entertaining and I'm stuck in bed until next week
I hope you’re feeling better! I know what a bit** pelvic pain/ surgeries are. Take care of yourself 🥰 Sending positive energy! ... I just saw this was posted 3 months ago 🙈 lol. Hope you’ve healed well!
I have no idea why I loved this movie but I think I just had a crush on Brenda Song.
Yep! I thought I loved this movie because of my love for songwriting, but turns out I was just gay lol🙃😂
You laugh, but I remember a bunch of articles being written when Justin Bieber cut his hair and a bunch of girls crying about it.
IDK why but I suddenly remembered Beautiful with Minnie Driver, the weird pageant movie. I think it's because I lump most movies in the early 2000s together that have giant plotholes and strange characters.
You know why I appreciate your videos so much man?… your “authenticity” it’s beautifully expressed and this in my humble opinion.
This is a master class in how you win people over. You made me interested in something that is interesting to you and your passionate about.
Because your having so much fun doing it man!!
I shared your channel with my wife she loves you too!

Pls pls pls, do Wish Upon A Star clip breakdown. It was my fav as a kid and I can't wait to watch you tear it apart lol
Hahah! It still holds up! I have the DVD and let’s just say Disney played an edited version lol! Still obsessed with it😂
At the very beginning when they’re all babbling over each other about the shoes someone goes “those are so cool, are they supportive?!” and I’ve been fcking cackling at it
I needed some epic commentary this morning, & here comes Nick coming in clutch.
Literally just sat down to eat lunch, perfect timing 🤩
same! got off work early I really needed something to watch
I don't know why it got butchered for this movie though.
disney doesn’t think about quality, as long as the kids watch it they make the money.

I vividly remember asking my mother for the soundtrack without even knowing there was one, I just inherently knew from the emphasis on the songs that there had to be a soundtrack.
you are my comfort youtuber. the amount of times i put your videos on in the background of my daily life lol
You're the best!
I would DIE to see you do some recaps of America's Next Top Model... all these years later there is a lotttttt to unpack there lmao.

"Wet Grapes Only" is my new summer jam.
This unearthed hidden memories in me of the weird 2000s romcom TAKING 5 where some girls kidnap a boyband and keep them in their basement.
I'd love to see that one picked apart, oh my god.
I've never even heard of that, but I just looked it up, and now I gotta see it.
