@patchoulini you can't say that. Why do you think that she hit the the right strings in all of us? Are you perfect ? Talented? She knew that she wasn't but talented she was. And she wasn't spiteful as you seem to be. Maybe you should go to rehab .
One of the rare times when the Grammy’s got it absolutely RIGHT!! Amy deserved this so much, Back to Black is a legendary album and I’m so happy that she got this validation.
i love that shot of amy at 0:14 and that moment of realisation. the lighting, the arms in between her, the cheering background and foreground, feels like it came out of a movie. an icon she is.
What if Amy was treated right? what if she took another way to deal with the pain instead of drugs and alcohol? all I wanna say is that it'd be a better world if Amy still producing her art through music, and ofcourse we miss you Amy.
Then you wouldn’t have any winehouse. Her addiction and struggles made her who she was, and the pain and experience she gained from being an addict was a huge inspiration for her music. If Amy had never tried alcohol or drugs I GUARANTEE we wouldn’t be talking about her and never would of heard one of her songs. You can’t just look back at an artists life and say things would be so much better if you took out the bad parts. Yeah we wish she had gotten past it, we wish her dad and boyfriend weren’t bad uncaring people, but as sad as it is this is Amy’s story, and unfortunately drugs and alcohol are a big part of that story. As a former drug addict myself I’ll tell you neither me nor any other addict I’ve met has ever said they wish they never tried the thing, that isn’t how you overcome it. I accept that’s part of my past and those are lessons I’ve used to be better. Those were MY problems, and if I had died from it yeah it would be sad but it wouldn’t be the fault of the people around me unless they tried to stop me from getting better like the dad and boyfriend. Most of the people around her did care and were great people, the only people who assume they didn’t care and were evil are kids who’ve never been an addict or known anyone who’s been an addict. It is not the responsibility of the people around you to make sure your mental health is sound. That is not what they signed up for, and even still her manager was incredibly supportive and tried to get help for her but her dad said she didn’t need it. I mean this is what SHE SINGS ABOUT IN REHAB. People are trying to make her go to rehab and she doesn’t want to, she isn’t saying “nobody around me cares they’re just watching me drink myself to death” lots of them were doing the opposite, and it’s honestly gross to blame those people in any way. These are people who are actually suffering from her death, these are friends and loved ones who actually had a connection with her. For people who never met amy to tell people she loved that it’s their fault she’s dead is horrible. Not saying you said that but lots of people do. I still stand by what I originally said though, most people who have gone through a trauma don’t just say they wish it didn’t happen if you ask them about it years later. Yeah you can’t learn from it if you die, but so many songs of hers are about addiction and failed relationships, her biggest ones are. Do you see how that could kind of mess up her legacy, taking out all the events that these songs are about and inspired by? I know I’m not the only one who feels comforted when a big artist shares some of the same struggles as me, you can’t take all the stuff that made her relatable and special and go “I wish she didn’t have any of that she’d still be alive” yeah she would but again you probably wouldn’t know who she was. There’s countless amazing groundbreaking artists like her that are STILL ALIVE and nobody treats them like this, because it’s sad but honestly most people just do not care until it’s too late. Nobody tries to find someone currently in trouble to talk about or help, it’s always someone that already died so they can point the finger. They point it at the media, the industry, the people around her, but for some reason nobody says that about the other MILLION people who die from alcoholism every day. Not saying she shouldn’t be remembered I’m just saying have you ever heard of some guy dying of alcoholism, and everyone’s first instinct is to go “well where was his family and friends? Maybe if they cared they could’ve stopped him” it’s corny. It doesn’t matter if she’s a homeless guy or a huge lovable artist, you are responsible for your own addictions unless someone is forcing you to do the drug and that’s not what happened. Yes addiction is hard and horrible, trust me I know, but all these people pretending they would of “saved” her don’t have ONE way they actually would of done it. What sending her to rehab? Yeah they tried that as even the most casual amy winehouse fan knows
@@byHexted her ex boyfriend got her into Heroin, even if that’s not what ended her life it drastically altered its projection. And yes everyone is responsible for their own actions but saying that “she’s responsible for her own addiction” is tone deaf. Addicts can be insufferable and refuse help and burn relationships but it’s literally a disease. She had no control. If you been an addict or have been related to one you’d know that like you said.
I sometimes like about that too, but for me I think what if her most popular songs weren’t Rehab Or Back to Black? Like what if they’re were He can only hold her and Me And Mr Jones. I wonder if she would grow tired of singing those songs like she did with those two.
