@@Freiya2011 well, when you're really a fan of someone you'll never think they're not as good as you think they are, let alone you're better than them. This was Amy's last recording. When Tony tells the story he chokes up. This woman was a gift from the gods...a voice that was as pure blues as any female voice that ever dared to venture into that special world...heartbreaking to think of what we lost, what might have been.
If that's true, then it's kind of 'poetic' that the last note of her entire recorded repertoire was a major 2nd dissonance over a tonic chord, (with none other then Tony Bennett himself holding that tonic!). You can't teach a person to make those kinds of musical decisions, they have to just... feel it and know how to express it. I also love Tony's reaction and how he so effortlessly goes with it. A less experienced singer might have assumed it was a mistake, and stopped singing.
In the Amy movie, she was so nervous and kept messing up. She just seemed so awestruck to be in the same room as him. Just really sad to have her gone.

Good to know, abusing drugs & alcohol and slumming around are the keys to heaven. Oh yeah, I forgot, jesus turned all the water into alcohol. Cool. Praise all the heavenly drunks.
I watched the documentary AMY for the first time last night. They showed the making of this moment with them together. And she was so nervous and skittish and said "I just don't wanna waste your time. this needs to be perfect" and Tony Was so sweet, understanding to her. What a beautiful match to have sing together. Both phenomenal
I haven't seen the movie yet but I've reserved the DVD....Heard it is a heartbreaker. I love this woman to the core: her talent, her person, her tragedy. Nobody sings like her: raw, honest and so soulful your heart hurts every time she opens her mouth. Why did she have to go so soon..... I wish I was her friend as she went into a downward spiral -- I would have done everything in my power to help prevent the substance-abuse from destroying her.
The romance in this type of music has always been sensational. Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and so many others that have sung along side some of the classiest women whose voices just sweep you off your feet. The love and the deep emotion was captivating. The stuff people listen to these days is senseless garbage. How i wish the days of love and romance were back. I truly feel people are hungry for classy music and are sick of rap crap...
Oh, she did. She knew. You can't be that overwhelmingly exceptional and not know it, especially once you've achieved fame. /she may have convinced herself otherwise while under the influence and have been far too hard on herself, but she knew in her heart of hearts
This is the greatest duet with Tony... ever. It was told that only two weeks before she died, Tony tried to contact her to warn her to get off of drugs before it killed her as it did to his other friends, like Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington. He regrettably never got the chance. RIP, Amy Winehouse.

In my opinion, since 21st century, Amy Winehouse had more musical talents than any other artist in popular music including Beyonce, Adele, Bruno Mars, and Alicia Keys.
Some souls are here for a moment and then they leave us in a glimmer of an eye, but we are left with the gifts of song and pleasant memories! RIP Amy and Tony.
There's a clip of them meeting for 1st time in the studio. She was obviously very nervous and insecure. Tony, being the reknown gentleman he is, took his time to make her feel at ease. At one point, she wanted to scrap the session and go home. Again, Tony helped Amy take baby steps to feel at ease and record the song "just for the hell of it" in his words. What you see here is the result of prob hours of him getting her to feel at ease. This is why Tony has the reputation of being one of the nicest guys in the biz. He could carry himself like a big prima donna like Sinatra did in his hey day, but he doesn't. Amy's remarkable interpretation of this classic again shows her absence is a huge loss for music.

I would never say ...Never...Even if the accessibility of the music isn't there. Savants are born every day...and one never knows how or when Genetics/Nature come together to form yet another voice.

Tony was wild about her talent and he spoke so incredibly high of her...
You are together performing the most heavenly duets in heaven. Rest in peace!! We are praying for your families!❤️🙏
That's not what Heaven is about.
Good to know, abusing drugs & alcohol and slumming around are the keys to heaven. Oh yeah, I forgot, jesus turned all the water into alcohol. Cool. Praise all the heavenly drunks.
This is a piece of history right here. Let us not take life for granted.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!
I truly feel people are hungry for classy music and are sick of rap crap...
gonna watch it NOW!
Cait Thompson let me tell you after watching it maaaaaan I was torn TOOOORRNNN I just felt like I knew her i cried after the film omg.
Cait Thompson i have been watched it... 😭😭.. She has struggled on her way.. but media killed her
There's no better voice than Amy 😭 I Miss her 😭
An old soul trapped in a millennial body if only she knew how great & unique she was.
Oh, she did. She knew. You can't be that overwhelmingly exceptional and not know it, especially once you've achieved fame.
/she may have convinced herself otherwise while under the influence and have been far too hard on herself, but she knew in her heart of hearts
It's great that we got her, because if she would've lived in the old times lots of millenials would never have heard such a classic talent.

As soon as Amy started singing I broke down in tears, I wish during these hard times, we could just have one more album.
So true Rudy .
Same, she was so excited to do this, her dad loved Tony so

She was second Willy holidays
Honey you were not alone, I did the same thing.
When you see a singer move away from the mike and still hear her loud and clear....that's a sign of a great voice.
She looks at once charmed and yet pained and sorrowing.
All for feeling of being ...Loved.

This is the greatest duet with Tony... ever. It was told that only two weeks before she died, Tony tried to contact her to warn her to get off of drugs before it killed her as it did to his other friends, like Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington. He regrettably never got the chance. RIP, Amy Winehouse.
why didn't he do it at that moment then??? Poor amy and god bless tony
he is a mentor to lady gaga as well. But she seems stronger than amy when it comes to handling the media ad preassure
@@melisagalvalizi6982
Lady Gaga used Madonna as her role model. Amy had no such mentor.

I'm glad she got to do this duet with him 😢. Rest in peace both of them ♥️
She looks so beautiful here and her voice one of the best voices in the industry so sad she’s isn’t here anymore you’re a legend Amy
Now Amy and Tony are singing together in heaven!
Her voice gives me goosebumps, she sounds like an old soul
Two MASTERFUL voices!! They may not be walking the earth anymore, but their music is timeless and will live on forever. Surely they are singing somewhere together right now!!! REST IN PEACE AMY AND TONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing she needed was LOVE.
NOVIT in the end is was her heart that gave out. A result of years of eating disorders, which weren’t helped by drug and alcohol abuse. So sad.
the only thing was rehab
Nope, she needed help, and those around her didn’t give it. A tragic and abused young life ended unnecessarily.
Especially, first of all, she needed to show love for herself.
All she ever wanted was love 💞
Amy avais l’air tellement bien la , un duo parfait reposer en paix tout les deux 🙏🏼 2 légende

Amy was never meant for this world she was one of the greatest talents ever
Amy's remarkable interpretation of this classic again shows her absence is a huge loss for music.
do you have a link to the clip when they met? I would love to see it.

it's incredible how she crushes him, the sensual presence she's got in the voice and the body.. wow
On the contrary, if you view the video accurately, she is in such awe of Bennet that she renders a nervous less than perfect performance.
fizywig it’s enough to steal the show.. ;)
He is like 90 years old when they recorded this.. she does not crush him.. lol
Just see if she sounds as good in her mid-80's... oh, wait...
A kiddie comment. Tony Bennett cannot be crushed, you expect him to be legendary, but she certainly stole the show with her mesmerising singing. Such a fragile soul with no one to look after her. And yet she left a mark to the World.
Amy lived so little. Talented singer.
Amy is stunning here,, looks very healthy such a loss
Wendy Combe yeah she was and has always been really gorgeous.
Amy spends the entire performance in awe of Tony, she is a fan girl the entire time and yet her voice sounds every bit as good as his. She doesn't feel like she is worthy to sing with a legend like him and yet she is a legend in her own right and if they are still singing together in heaven then that's a place i want to be
She looks so giddy and in total awe of him! They are both such great talents! What an amazing duet!
