One change i do like for the show is Laenor actually being a knight and fighting as one. The only thing that could bring them down was each other with the Dance of the Dragons.
You know... In the book there is another madman in this battle.... Dalton Greyjoy. Younger than Leanor by that point he was as fierce as Daemon and extremely ruthless. He was the Red Kraken for a reason. And it's this battle that he earned that name. Soaked in blood of many triachy he slain he was unphased by the sight of corpse and keep fighting like a true Ironborn.
Laenor really would be team Black's best bet at winning through warfare, the dude is a warrior through and through, he was aching to get back to battle for 10 years.
I kinda hate what they did to Ser Laenor's character as an adult. He was a knight and a warrior yet he ended up being a drunk and whoring around. It was the same with Ser Loras. Surely, their sexual orientation doesn't define their whole persona. Loras death hit me hard which made me root for Laenor's freedom and happiness even harder.

At this point, the two brothers weren't on good terms, and Daemon goes against Viserys's authority to participate in the war. That's why Viserys doesn't send reinforcements until the very end. Likewise, Daemon probably refused to request any aid from Viserys as he wants to use this chance to prove himself and his brother helping him would ruin that.

This whole crabfeeder storyline was implemented with cartoonish incompetence. It's like they put zero thought in to it. GoT would never have been such a success if it featured such poorly conceived and executed trash. This level of a blunder is something you would expect to see in some low-budget TV sitcom with delusions of grandeur. I see this more and more, in most new movies and shows. Did all of the competent writers die from covid? Did they get fired due to mandates? It could be that the same qualities that would make someone an amazing writer are the same as those which would see someone refusing the vaccine. Did the mandate weed out all of the talent, leaving only incompetent sheep? Maybe all of the real talent got cancelled by the woke mob for some imagined offense?
