I think fo Linus home stuff we should get a before/after reaction from Yvonne every time.
That way we can enjoy the change like she would 😂
I feel bad for Yvonne this time and even more bad for Linus.
@@PHIplaytesting I'd feel bad for any wife of mine, I'd regularly troll in ways similar to this
@@PHIplaytestingshe can live without a home theater for 2 weeks.
@@PHIplaytesting Linus was sleeping on that inflatable couch until they put the home theater room back to normal.
You mean your husband?
the fact that Yvonne lets Linus do this kind of stuff is the surreal part for me. My wife still berates me for one hole I did on the wall to let an Rj45 cable through...
It’s easy because if he does anything she doesn’t like she will just hire someone to fix it.. because after all they are multi multi multi millionaires
I feel like you could change your wife's mind if a video of you putting that RJ45 hole in the wall made tens of thousands of dollars.
Put a wall plate on?
@@cortesacrawford that is an excellent point, she would love RJ45 cables for that
You need a new wife then. That's ridiculous.
I got a Govee light strip with the immersion camera for my PC and I have to say, It works really well and not to mention, Govee's customer service is like no other. I had a little problems with their adhesive on the pads to put it behind my monitor and they sent me different ones a couple days later free of charge. They actually care and respond to their customers, which I just wanted to point out, since most just do the minimum to be done with it.

Ivone was not in the video so she definitively was not amused.
Indeed a good video, and super jealous of that insane Home Theeatar soundbar

All the Good Vibes in this video was thanks to the Blue sign
im guessing the theater room was already due a repaint, since Linus seems to be very ok with ripping out his entire cinema room and making holes and stuff to the paint. is it time for vanta black wallpaint now?
That would be sweet lol
Or the sound dampening paint they talked about some months ago on the WAN show.
I certainly hope not on the vantablack. One would hope that Linus' household is an Anish Kapoor hate household.
@@ImpofRelentlessness Why?
Wasn't it that other super-black they were talking about, black 3.0 or whatever? I can't actually remember.
I would've loved this system when i built my first outdoor theater. Mine was an actual queen bed sheet stretched across an electrical conduit frame, a 480p vga projector that consisted of a huge case with a 14" lcd screen, a 500watt bulb and a lens. I had a creative labs 4.1 computer speaker system, and the video source was a vcr, a dvd player and a cheesebox video to vga converter.
Those govee tv backlight, actualy set up properly are actualy absolutely amazing for games and movies.
everyone has thought of pushing RCA plugs together, but the thing is it also shorts the signal to the ground.
"the sound bar is really quite quiet 🤔"
They did it by bluetooth in the end so wasn't the cables fault @@AnT508
@@AnT508 i think they were using bluetooth mode at that point
@@randomchannel9331 absolutely, with shorted cables there would be no sound at all - plus you could damage the output device pretty fast (depends on the device-quality)
can't say I've ever thought to do that 🤣
This video reminds me of when I wanted to rig up an outdoor movie projecting setup during the pandemic for a date night. I bought a white queen size flat sheet from Walmart and I hung it up with double sided foam tape. I think it did a better job than the screen you got from wish and it might have cost less.
But was your screen also washable? If not, you're saving more money in the long run with this one.
@@leonro bed sheets are washable, yes.
@@katrinabryce you missed the entire 'washable' joke 😮💨
@@katrinabryce Not if it the product page does not state so.
@@leonro 🤔 Looking at George at Asda, the UK equivalent of Walmart: it says it can be tumble dried, but doesn't say anything about washing 🤷🏻♀. But at £10 for a King sized, or £9 for double, we don't have Queen, it is certainly a lot cheaper than Wish.
In LInus's defense.... I've pulled Command Strips off the "proper way" and have still had them occasionally rip patches of paint (and even sometimes part of the drywall paper under it) when they come off. Cause the downside is, even though you pull it the way you're supposed to, there are points where the rest of the adhesive isn't quite enough, and it just NOPE's itself the rest of the way off the wall, taking whatever it's attached to with it.
I've also had numerous issues with getting defective/dud/fake strips. Half the time the packs online are legit, and half the time they're duds that either don't stick at all or don't come off. I'd rather buy in store but most don't sell refill packs and I don't need 100 extra hooks
@@Lizlodude late reply, but I never buy Command strips online, only ever in store, and 9 times out of 10 they still rip a chunk of paint and maybe drywall paper with them.
@@theElemDragon yeah I finally just visited all the craft stores near me and found some that sell bigger refill packs, we'll see if those are more reliable. Felt like I never used to have a problem with them, but something something everything sucks now
y'all should do an ultimate projector video were you test a bunch of these $250 range projectors to see which one is the best they're actually really good now for how much they cost. i recently got one with a proper silver screen and i love it. mine is connected to my pc for nvidia control panel features and it makes a big difference.
Great idea i'd love to see a video like this too. Do you game on it or just watch movies?
too much latency to game on sadly. watching content works smooth though. gaming projectors start near the $1000 mark. @@royalferret1012
A TH-cam Channel called "The Hook Up" has a few great projector comparison videos. Because of his review I picked up a Nexigo PJ40 for just a hair over $250.
Connecting RCA cables like that will just short the signal pin to the outer shield and basically sink all audio signal to ground, which is why no audio came through except some static
Do those type of cables serve a purpose then or are they just manufactured out of stupidity? And what would be the recommended way of passing multiple RCA cables to a single source? (asking for a friend, I have absolutely not just bought similar cables and gotten similar results lol)
@@MrLingon They are far from stupid but they are old, which can be a benefit if going janky with just something like 2x mono rca to 2x rca splitter / adapter. Gonna be losing signal strength, but it works if happen to want to run a music player to 2 amps.
A more better way if really need to do that is something like a 1 in 2/4 out signal splitter box

I really don't understand how Wish still exists. Like ebay and Aliexpress both have plenty of scammy junk, but they also have plenty of legit stuff and even cheap decent stuff if you know what to look for. I don't think I've seen a single thing on Wish that isn't either obviously a scam or is more expensive than your average big-box store.

We sell intex products at Wal-Mart too. they are just a big company that makes pools, mattresses and Pool floats

Intex is legit. I had an inflatable raft from them that comfortably fit like 5 adults.
I had that exact same inflatable couch for at the beginning of COVID because I had just moved and the delivery of my actual couch was delayed for like 3 months. Question since Plouffe wasn't very thorough with his explanation of the screen...is it by chance washable? 😁😁😂😂
I actually have that exact screen myself. 100% can be washed
Hi
Yes, washable, very to clean with water!
Months ago I bought that exact sound bar and it works great in the bathroom for music. He nailed it for saying it was basically a Bluetooth speaker, but my sound bar is genuinely powerful and doesn't sound too bad!
Great video. I was given a cheap projector as a Christmas gift and to my surprise the image quality is so much better than the early cheap projectors were.
that nebula space laser space dude, apart from the obvious danger to the ol eye balls actually looks great in total darkness. Literally got one day before, mad coincidence, the exact same one. Magnetic pop off head and all. Its in my daughters room (high up out of reach). It deserved a bit more love :)
don't mix chinese made + laser and especially not + kids.
Oftentimes the used lasers are way more powerful than they should be to still be legally "safe". High risk for not much fun, don't do it. Lasers aren't toys if you don't know the actually risks and how careful you should actually be with it.
To add to what that other commenter said, even though the laser is scattered there could still be parts that are dangerous, namely the UV that cheap green lasers pump out. I can't remember the exact science but the laser you end up seeing is 1/10 of what's come out, the rest is UV and it typically isn't as focused as the laser.
Some stuff it's fine to buy cheap. Lasers aren't one of them unless you know what you're doing
Guys, I think you're exaggerating a little bit
@@jako1234567890jako appreciate the concern once again homies. Did some reading up on that science you mentioned. It's typically IR not uv emitted on the non visible spectrum. And is more a concern for people dealing with higher power lasers and the type of safety goggles they are using.
@@akairas6 actually not. I've worked with lasers and having the laser source in a possible eyesight is always a bad idea (this thing does exactly that). Especially as you can't be sure of the actual power (and in what spectrum the peak is).
Will something happen, probably not. Can something happen, yes. Is it worth the risk and play around? I would leave that out. The lasers teenagers have are way more dangerous, so kinda surprising nothing worse happens like.. constantly
Love the Simpsons reference from Ned. Well done lads.

*knock on wood* that segway doesn't come back to bite us. I'm genuinely excited about these govee products, but if the software is full of malicious code.....
@@ilovefunnyamv2nd yeah, Christmas lights with a microphone are just asking to be hacked. I believe this is a step too far
@@yaroslavstarchenko4358
They probably sense vibration. If you mount the control unit on their cheap Tv backlight to the wall, the sound-reactive feature doesn't really work anymore. I'd imagine the Christmas tree lights work the same way.
For a summer movie night out in the yard, or maybe a gathering to watch a match, that projector would do it's job just fine. I remember a while back a cheap projector other than being crap would need to be set up in the basement with no lights whatsoever and a total eclipse of the sun for it to have a visible image.
“It’s less of an order and more of a wish ✨“ My new favorite quote of the day lol

I have that same exact astronaut nebula/star projector. It's actually pretty cool and I prefer just the moving nebulas with the stars turned off.
I weep for that man who does not know the Simpsons reference at 6:14
I actually liked the govee lights. I’ve been wanting to do something similar hanging the lights on my walls
Govee back light with camera works great to be fair. I've got a 80 inch version and I'm impressed.
My question is why you wouldn’t just have a pass through box where you put your hdmi source in and it gets image data and passes the hdmi out. Much simpler than a camera sticking out and doing a bunch of image processing to get the same data
@@weegle. Which one exactly you have in mind? They all seemed like much more expensive solutions than £80 I have paid for govee. Camera can be also placed under the screen which makes it much less sticking out. Also I have a Sony with android tv built in. This does not pass through hdmi. Only my ps5 does but would I still keep all the VRR 4k specs? Etc? I'm not sure. With external camera it works with anything I have on my screen.
@@GrzegorzMatusiak555 yeah I guess it is a good argument that the HDMI box solution wouldn’t work with integrated smart TV interfaces

You can actually get some pretty decent projectors from China for the $150-$200 price range, that actually can even be used in a living room with the curtains open. Been rocking one myself for the last 3 years. And pretty good image quality for the price, with actual 1080p resolution.
Oddly enough, I kinda like this setup. Sure it's a little rough around the edges, but function always beats form. Great video, really love what you guys did here.
Eh, in what way is this "function"? I'd rather watch a movie on my laptop with headphones on than "experience" that crap.
@@gurratell7326 I can tell you haven't watched the video, so I'm not even gonna try. 🙄
@@deejrdee1 I watched it, the setup had neither function nor form, so you're comment didn't even have any logic at all.

LOL, the look on Linus's face when he plugged in the clock cracked me up.
3:11 Love the quality marketing for the **home theeatar** sound system! 😄
The starlight projector I picked on Amazon has aurora, stars and moon which can be turned on and off individually. Remote controller controls Bluetooth music, brightness, and a bunch of modes. It doesn’t look like a character or anything funky, just sleek and works well easily covering most rooms. It’s more expensive than your astronaut though at around $65 CAD plus taxes when I got it a few years ago.
ok
The fun thing about the Govee stuff is that it's all compatible with dream view so if you set them up right, you can have specific parts of your room lighting up just like those RGB strips. They support a surprising number of lighting regions and even have a desktop app for syncing things that way direct from the desktop. The AI dreamview box probably works better but I've been surprised by how happy I am with the desktop app.

I got a sub CA$100 projector from Amazon for review, and while it's no laser projector, I was extremely surprised with how well it works, even if the corners are a bit blurry with it mounted near the ceiling and the terrible manual focus/keystone adjustment.
I'm projecting it on the white back of an ancient pair of roll down blinds from the 70s for a 109" screen size, it's only 1080p, but it's great for watching TH-cam videos while falling asleep, and thankfully it makes no allusions to it being anything more than a 1080p projector.
It really is surprising how much these cheap bois have advanced, especially when you set your expectations accordingly.

I honestly think Govee are the only LED light brand I'm willing to pay full price for, every sponsor spot I've seen of theirs I actually look at their products and go "Oh thats pretty cool".
As much as I like DIY/WLED/etc, Govee actually have some cool features. I do wish they'd just sell the control box on their own so you could retrofit RGB strips into their ecosystem though.
Honestly I've been a fan of govee since the early days, because they essentially did most of what Phillips hue did, but for a way more reasonable price. I was hesitant at first because of the price and because I haven't heard of them at the time, but after trying out a product I instantly fell in love.
But after building my first wled setup recently, I must say that DIY for RGB in your room/at your pc is the only way to go. It's just sooooo much cheaper and much more customizable than any premade RGB setup.
But I still love govee for everything else, like RGB in cars, outdoor solutions, RGB bulbs etc.
@@simplygamicI wish govee made really warm lights. They only go down to 2700 Kelvin while Phillips reaches 2100 Kelvin. I will definitely go govee for RGB stuff tho
