I carry the Kahr PM9. Absolutely love it!!! I have to wear a suit/tie for work so conceal is difficult. I can drop this one in my pocket & it’s concealed. Very reliable. Finally found a concealable pistol with enough firepower.

ACE Smith I carry a Kahr cm9 and works great. If the Glock 43 was out years prior I probably would have been carrying that. Glock failed on that.. most of us dont want .380 auto 42

The Shield 9 has been my daily SS9 for many years and I could not get by without it. It conceals perfect in the hot humid SE Texas summers (which is most of the year) and has been 100% reliable. It is a pleasure to shoot as well and I would not hesitate to put hundreds of rounds through it in one session, or even attend a course with it. I have just recently picked up a Shield 45 and it is amazing as well.

I would never bet my life on a shield. They don't back their guns. Ruger is American made too. I prefer the Lc9s Pro to the shield 9 any day. I would bet my life on the Ruger! . Shawn

I love the Walther PPS M2. Shoots amazing, very good quality and easy to conceal. Fits my big hands very well. Plus, it's got a $100 Walther rebate running until sometime in September! (still waiting on my rebate...) I've shot a Glock 43 and was surprised at how much I liked it. Great video, and great choices.

P225 was and is my favourite CCW. It's light, and compact. For self defense, I don't need double stacked P226, but carry a spare magazine.

A superb review as you often do, many, many thanks! I have the Walther PPS M2 and fully endorse your comments. I would add it has remarkably little recoil and the great trigger means an avareage marksman like me an do much better with this pistol, even at 15 m.

I waited a long time for Ruger to redo the trigger on the Lc9. Now it's the Lc9s 9mm pro. No Safety. Under $300. Bought a Houge Hardball slip on grip and a 9 rd extended mag. I am set. Put the Lc9s 9mm in my Sig 239 holster. It work' s for me! Won't even look at another CCW weapon to carry. The only thing I regret is the blued slide. Can you buy a different slide to put on it or can I recote this blued slide? SHAWN

Nice video. I do agree with your selection of top single stack 9's. I have a Taurus PT 709, which is my EDC. I don't consider it in the class of your list, but still has functioned flawlessly for a budget gun. Might look into the Shield or Kahr in future. Thanks.

i watched this video many times - i just thumbs-up'ed it. i found it very useful - the most useful in making my decision on which to buy. the chart of comparison info at the end was excellent! i ended-up buying the ruger LC9sPro and i'm glad i did. i haven't had it very long, but i think it's a 2-thumbs-up deal for me for carry permanently? i wanted light, thin, small, dependable with 8 rnds of 9mm. if it's not comfortable i won't carry it. it will end up being left at home. that's why i bought the ruger. i do believe i'll carry it everyday. no good left at home. it came down to the shield9 or the LC9sPro. i chose the ruger because it's a little bit lighter. i like both guns though. 8 rounds in the ruger package ain't bad to me. i'm glad they're making these size guns now - changes everything for me. you're kind - thank you for your work and sharing (your video). it is excellent!

Nice list Justin! I would add the Sig P938, Kimber Micro 9, Springfield XDS, and Kahr MK9 to that list. The HK P7 is an oldie but a goodie! But even with all those my go to the most is the Glock 43 as well.

I own the Ruger Ec9s. Accurate, reliable and conceals comfortably well. I added a hogue grip sleeve, 2 magguts kits for 2 magazines making them 8+1, and glow on sight paint on the sights. This gives you a comfortable grip, more rounds and the capability to shoot at night if you "charge" your sights with a flashlight. Greatly enhances the effectiveness and versatility of this firearm. Paired with underwood extreme defender ammunition and a clinger comfort cling holster it is a very capable combination for self defense.

I have 2 on your list. Glock 43 & Ruger LC9S. Both are great guns, and very reliable. Never had a problem with either. I seem to shoot the Ruger better, and it’s lighter with an extra round in the flush mag. I carry both, but tend to carry the LC9S more.

I know this is an older video but I just bought a P225 today, specifically to add to my CC options. (enjoyed your 225 videos, Thanks!) I prefer single stack pistols, as they just feel better in my hands. I'm a big guy, cursed with big hands but stubby fingers lol
I put both the 225 and 229 in my hands, one after the other, several times today and the 225 just felt like and old friend.
My other two carry options are a Kimber Eclipse Pro Cary II (which is a fantastic pistol) and a Kahr MK9. The Kahr MKII is also fantastic. It's tiny and solid stainless but only 6+1, (7+1 with the extended Mag) yet comes in weighing 26oz. The recoil is so manageable and it carries so well. It's very accurate, so I'm betting on hitting my target vs having to take 15 shots. The mags are so small that it's easy to stash two of them.
The 225, for me, is going to be the perfect middle ground. A couple extra rounds, reliable and accurate (hope my copy is too =) )

I thought I remembered a video in which, after comparing the Shield and the PPS M2, you indicated you preferred the M2 (but maybe I'm mistaken on that). I thought it funny, then, that you'd chosen the M2, agreed the Shield was tops (see your response to Seth Clayburn in thread below [or above depending on your settings]) and admitted to most often carrying the G43. lol

I own the LC9s, PPS M2 and a 2.0 Shield. Best overall I'd have to give to the S&W, but the Walther is the most accurate in my experience. The LC9s is good, but the most snappy of the three. The Glock 43 I pasted on, just didn't like the grip feel.

A couple things, first doesn't the non pro lc9s with the safety also so have a mag disconnect? I believe the pro model is the exact same gun without those two unnecessary (my opinion) safeties. Second, glock in 9mm is just hard to beat in any size it seems. They are all legendary with cult like followings. The g26, g19, g17, g34, g17L and now the g43. And for good reason, they work and work well. I've been resisting a g43 and g19 for a long time, I think I've reached the breaking point lol

Occasionally, in between purchases of the the latest greatest concealable 9mms, I'll think "I love these nice flat, lightweight, single stack 9mms with great ergos and bead blasted slide tops and solid sights". Then I dig down to the 45yr strata layer in the gunsafe and see my S&W M39 and realize the more things change.....

I knew you wouldn't include the XDs. Glock fans often times don't like the XDs. Love mine. The initial problem I had with mine, jamming when I put a +1 in, seemed to correct itself after 5 or 6 mags worth. The subsequent 40 or so magazines I've added +1 to haven't had an issue. My buddies G42 didn't stop randomly jamming till about 200 rounds in. I always laugh when I hear "Glock Perfection".

      @JustinOpinionChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I'm not really very biased one way or another. I don't currently have an XDS in 9mm, which was the main reason for not including it, as well as limited range time with it compared to the others.

Great review! Okay, serious ramble mode, on. :-)
I'm somewhat of a collector recently and have 4 of the more popular single stack 9mm pistols -- Glock 43, Performance Center Shield, Walther PPS M2 and the Springfield Armory XDs 2-tone. I've had all of them for a while now, but so far have only fired the Glock 43. From a few of the videos I've seen on YT I expected it to be pretty snappy, but I was wrong. Perhaps I was expecting something more like the feel of my Sig Sauer P232 stainless (think sexier version of the Walther PPK in .380 auto -- I have both). With the fixed barrel on the Sig that little sucker has pretty snappy kick behind it. I need to get my butt to the range with my other single stacks and do a comparison. I shoot the G43 very well, and I've heard pistols like the Shield and PPS shoot just as well, if not better with less recoil, so I'm really curious to see how the run. From a first impression standpoint of ergonomics, fit & finish/build quality, I'd rank them in the following order. Walther, XDs, Glock and then the Shield. My PC Shield is the best looking of the bunch with the ported barrel and slide and it has a much better trigger than the regular shield. However, I still haven't fired it. I have to say, the Sig 225 in the beginning of the video looks like a SWEET pistol! Even though I'm heavy into striker-fired single stacks and larger pistols, I do like hammer fired DA/SA pistols like my old P232. I much prefer the decocker on the Sig over a safety. I'm surprised I have never heard of it! I must say, I'm very interested in getting one. Actually, thanks to many of your videos, I've made several selections based on your excellent videos, so thank you!! One in particular was the Smith-Wesson Performance Center C.O.R.E. 9L ported (and yes it is a mouthful). You are in the very top tier of the YT gun reviewers, so please, keep up the great work!

No Sig Sauer p225a1? I like this handgun, because it carries 8+1 rounds for a single stack. It's a double action / single action with the double being hard enough to not accidentally press, yet smooth when purposefully pressing and then single action after that. It's compact enough to put in my owb or iwb holsters without disturbing me much. Every gun no matter what gun, will be felt by the carrier, but with the p225a1, it just feels right for me. It is also heavy enough so that the recoil is easily manageable. This gun is pure gold when it comes to what you want in a ccw.

Mike Gardner I've heard good things about the Legion model. I've got a Tac Ops 226 and with the 20 round mags it's the handgun I keep very close at home. The 239 gen 2 is just one heck of a compact pistol. I'd really like to add a Mk 6 to my tiny collection, but I can't get past the price.

thx4 reply: friend's mom was robbed in parking lot at local wal-mart at sun-up in our small town at gun point in her car. lots other crimes happening here too.... old ladies and females are a target. i had CHL since they started in my state (TX) many years, but haven't been carrying because tired of my carry guns too big/heavy. i used your video to make my final selection on which subcompact 9mm to buy. thus buying the LC9s Pro and i do love carrying that gun (easy to carry). haven't had the LC9s Pro long at all - just bought it. i'm compromising by buying smaller subcompact guns that i won't leave at home and will carry everyday. i never really liked .380's, but now i want one of those too for summer, when dressed-up and as another small gun as another option in addition to having the LC9s Pro as an option. i have good big cal home guns like Sigs, colts, S&W's. it's too hard for me to carry a dbl-stack SIG or a colt 1911. i carried a s&w mod#36 5-shot 38spec, but no capacity and not flat and thin. i carried a SS Taurus snub 5-shot .357MAG ...... same deal but even heavier. i weighed my LC9s Pro because it matters... the LC9s Pro, 1 in chamber, 7 in mag and inside of my leather w/metal clip IWB holster the whole rig weighs only 23.69OZ. (1-1/2 pounds and flat and thin). plus i carry another loaded mag in the weak-side hand pocket ... it weighs 5.26OZ. weight/size/capacity matters... i'm small. i want a pocket subcompact .380 to pocket carry when it's hot or i'm dressed-up or when i want to carry something else other than the LC9s Pro. before seeing your 9mm subcompact comparison video i had already looked at all of those guns separately in gun stores, but having the video and chart at end really helped. maybe one day you might do the .380 carry subcompact video! if so, i sure would like that. i subscribed and thx! martina

well, i decided on the ruger LCP-II .380 . here's what happened: i watched some videos and looked at the ones at the guns store (many times). i got on a local gun trader website and replied to an ad where a man wanted to trade a brand new and unfired LCP-II with some cash for a guitar. i told him what i had to trade, he came and looked at it and we did the deal. he had the original receipt for the gun where he bought it new. we did an ID bill of of sale and we both have CHL's. we're both happy with the deal and it was earnest for both of us. he bought the gun for his wife and she didn't like it and she wouldn't carry it. i got it new in box with everything it comes with. the man was nice. he was a retired army sgt. living locally. nice pleasant transaction! i'm stoked on the gun! i like it as another carry option even though i'm a bit reluctant on going lower than a 9mm. i like it a lot though and i like it's features too. super easy to carry. i also bought a IWB leather holster for it to free-up my pocket. cool when things work-out that way! i hadn't played that guitar in years!
your vids are excellent! there's substantial information in them. very substantial information. they are excellent, IMO! recently from watching your P320 video i learned about that slide-lock part that sometimes has to be changed-out. that's important information and a very good look at it as well. that's of great value to me and i thank you!

Hi how are u doing? I watch and Thank everyone for taking the time out to vive us the viewer opinions and facts about their knowledge of guns however one aspect that I have noticed that is overlooked is the economy. Not everyone can purchase such guns as a Beretta which is costly unless yo u have a surplus warehouse nearby. Of course everyone Loves a quality gun with beautiful detailing and all but we just cannot afford them. How about starting by mentioning a good pistol for about 300 to 400 dollars then work your way Up. I saw a video where 9mm handguns were reviewed that were Buffet and I was just stunned. I could not believe such guns existes that are mame brand such as Remington. I know the Walther is one of the best handguns e ver made without question but honestly I cannot afford a new or May be e ven a used one.

      Love my Kel-Tec PF9
Paid $200 new at a gun show with a pocket holster included. Had it 6 months in my pocket every day. Got a little dusty, but fired all 8 rounds flawlessly. Overall I have put 100 FMJ rounds and 20 Hornaday critical duty’s through it with zero malfunctions.

all of the numbers look so good for the PM9 when looking at the chart.
then you see it's capacity. then for me that low capacity rules it out.
i want a flush fit 7 round magazine and that leaves 2 remaining guns
to choose from to buy... the shield and the LC9sPro. i prefer no safety.
i've never like s&w autos, but i like the shield9 and i've always liked
ruger's. so the LC9sPro & the Shield .... one of those 2 i'm going to
buy and i don't know which one yet?
there was another one i considered in the past and i decided against it.
    it's had many reported problems. it's the kel-tech PF-9. it's light, has
7 round magazine and is small and thin. too many bad reviews i see about
it and i need quality and dependability. i can't chance buying a gun i
can't stake my life on. i trust ruger and i trust the Shield9 (s&w). too
bad that the PF-9 has so many bad reports. it was priced right, but maybe
that's why (bad reports)? i personally have no experience with kel-tech.
really i wish there were an option of a quality gun that was the size,
weight, capacity, and thinness of the kel-tech or ruger in 9mm that was
a single action. one that i could pocket carry w/o a holster, leave in
half cocked position with the safety off and cock it manually using only
one hand if it were ever drawn. one that were affordable. the sig P938
is about that, but it's too expensive for me. i don't want to spend that
much money and i don't want to drop down to a .380 .
i have a small revolver. a s&w model 36. a dang nice good quality gun,
    but it's low capacity (5-shots). it's a 38 special. i want something
with more capacity in a 9mm and i want it small and thin and not too
    expensive.
the ruger or the shield. one of those 2 for me maybe? maybe if i bought
one of those 2 and a good quality single clip-on leather molded IWB holster
that had a real good trigger guard on it? maybe sometimes i could pocket
carry it in that same holster, too? maybe one with real good retention and
a real good trigger guard that completely covered the entire trigger?
i picked-up both the LC9sPro & the shield9 at the store. both felt good
to me. i think i could carry either one of them and i liked them both.
most likely i'll probably buy the ruger, but i wish i had the choice of
a very similar, but single-action gun in 9mm that was hammer fired with
a light hammer pull where i could leave it chambered and on 1/2-cock
instead of having a DAO striker fired firing control. i think somebody
needs to make that. i would prefer to carry that.
thanks for your nice video and all information. i liked the video!
