What a great example of how this ensemble worked together to produce timeless comedy. In any other show Milly and Jerry would have stolen the scene, but they played off each other so well it was their chance to make it a team victory. And we all benefited.
So true. I have also seen a similar attitude on a British show called Would I Lie to You where comedians pass up opportunities to shine or be offended because they know the ensemble joke will be better. It is very rare for people to work that that, but it definitely shows in the final product.
I watched every episode but I just don’t find it funny anymore, and the kid is so annoying
Love this show! Good clean humor that will give a person a belly laugh! 😂😂😅😄🤣
Not me, I'm dying laughing with a belly ache on the ground. Worth every second 😂
My mom passed away in September and somehow watching these old shows seemed to both make me laugh and take me away at a tough time.
My mom in 2022 me too.
I am sorry for your loss. Finding things to distract yourself, like the wonderful DVD show, can help ease the sadness. You are not alone.
@@randilevson9547 Thank you so much. I do find comfort in the old shows that make me laugh
As with the Andy Griffith Show I'm never tired of watching reruns of Dick Van Dyke. I usually do at least four episodes of each show each day. Takes me back to the very beginning as a young child and my parents both being barely 30.. it helps bring back a part of you that you should always cherish... One's youth.
Same here.
One of my former coworkers told me his wife always started her day watching an episode or the Andy Griffith show. I thought that was so sweet.
Me too. I remember when they were originally broadcast but we never watched it much. I was too young to understand the humour. I think I understood Andy Griffith better.
When I was a kid, we used to watch this as a family when it first aired on TV in Australia. I was watching a repeat of Diagnosis Murder this afternoon and thought that I must check this out. It's really funny and I'll be watching more episodes. It brings back happy memories. ❤❤❤
So many of these old tv shows make me happy & sad at the SAME time...
This cast was stellar
If "I", had a wife as STUNNING as Mary Tyler Moore(R.I.P.), she could open and read ALL of my mail ANYTIME!
One of the first women to wear pants on tv
If a gal is pretty enough she can be a serial axe murderer and guys will gladly overlook it. They buy a lot of trouble for themselves that way!
She definitely was gorgeous
Back when TV shows were really good 😅
I keep saying “I love this one” and realized I say that about everything. This show had such an impact that when MTM got her own amazing show they made it a broken engagement instead of a divorcee so people wouldn’t think she left Rob. 🥰
Me too ! ❤
This is one of my favorite episodes. I think Millie and Jerry are the two people who really carry the laughter to the audience, without saying anything!
Half the humor is seeing them gagging on their own laughter with Laura oblivious to it all
Happy 98th birthday Dick Van Dyke🎉❤️
He is astounding!
He's as trim & peppy now as he was then....
i am 21, why am i into these 60s shows? 😂just binged 15 of these
Cause the shows these days don't have that fast paced that we are use to. Born in 1991 and I love classic shows.
Because the shows from the 50s, 60s, 70s and part of the 80s and some of the 90s was far superior to anything today !
Because these are great quality shows. I grew up on these type of shows and I can watch them over and over and never get bored with them. TV today is shit. I also love Mary Tyler Moore, Leave It To Beaver, Andy Griffith Show, Sanford and Son, What's Happening.
Roll another blunt
Yeah (ooh-ooh-ooh)
(La-la-ta, ta-ta-ra-ra)
(La, ta, ta
(La-la-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la-la)
I was gonna clean my room until I got high (ooh)
I was gonna get up and find the broom, but then I got high (la-la-ta, ta-ta-ra-ra)
My room is still messed up, and I know why (why? Man)
'Cause I got high, because I got high, because I got high (la-la-ta, ta-ta-ra-ra)
thank you for re up loading the full version of this episode most appreciated
These people really are comedy genius! Such a great show
Genii
It’s amazing that we can all watch one of these episodes on TH-cam. Cherish these moments.
The best thing the internet gave us...all the TV & movies we care to watch, at anytime & anyplace...even on our phones
I remember 3 main tv channels, one local & one public broadcasting
ABC/7
CBS/2
NBC/5
WGN/9.
PBS/11
The last programing went off around 2 or 3am. Played the National Anthem & then static...at 5:15am the Farm Report came on
Why even bother watching 21st Century garbage horrible writing sitcoms, when the best has already been done.
This is comedy creativity BaBy!!😁👍🏻👍🏻
Thank goodness they re-uploaded with the ending intact
Dick is still going strong at 97. June 2023 he is 97 years old. Shows how being a good man leads to long life. Always loved his acting.
"Shows how being a good man leads to long life" Which is bullshit.
Great that he's still going strong because most of the actors from these 60s and 70s comedy shows seem to be dead, I'm guessing everyone else except maybe the boy from this show must be gone too.
98 now. The brotha just turned 98! 98 and still goin’ great 💪🏾
Oh Oh
He was just making jokes and asking for work, at 99. Lol ❤😊
Absolute perfection. Sublime. Mary Tyler Moore, with her lithe dancer's body and comic timing, is brilliant.
and DVD's physical comedy movements, when 'pre-enacting' the wife being drawn back to the package
Love the brainstorming session between Rob, Sally and Buddy! You can easily tell that they really are friends!
That's the way it works. When you've been a situation like that it is memorable and you feel so fortunate for the experience.
Ann Morgan ("Millie") looks pregnant in this episode. Millie and Jerry were hysterically funny!
AMG was wearing a smock-style top. No guarantee of anything, but I had the same thought.
She was.
That was another great thing about TDVDS. They never stooped to trying to hide the fact that Ann Guilbert was pregnant. It was just never mentioned, and "Millie" never had a baby. They gave their audience credit.
@@sdstewart1962Actually, Millie and Jerry had at least 3 kids. Freddie and Ellen and they mentioned another son but never actually showed him.
That was because Ann WAS pregnant with future actress Hallie Todd. Shortly, thereafter, she was on maternity leave. Later Season 1 episodes had Jerry but not Millie.
Its always blows my mind how much better tv shows were
Yah. Would she like him reading her personal mail then hand it over opened. I don’t think so
DVD has the most adorable, warm, goofy smile.
I love how neighbors always know whether to come in the front or back door, depending on where the resident happens to be. It's always been a staple of sitcoms.
It's a privilege not a right, that's how I feel. It's rude to make assumptions when getting into someone else's personal space. Asking is always the best solution, not over stepping healthy boundaries.
It's also always good to have a sense of humor. Especially about a sitcom, which is not real life! Sitcoms are full of exaggerated situations done for laughs. That's why sitcoms are "short" for situation comedies.
I was 6 years old the first time I saw this, and thought it was the funniest thing I ever watched. 61 years later...it still is.
Yes it is!😊
This is my favorite episode of the entire series.
Same!
Better than the "Walnuts" episode? Really?
They’re co-equal lol
Wow, MTM was so gorgeous
Nobody can make capri pants ever look so good again.
Love this episode.Classic TV at its best
My mom loved this show, too!
She liked an episode where Rob and Laura babysit for Larry, Buddy’s dog. He is German shepherd.
Rob tries to sing the dog to sleep by singing a lullaby in English. He won’t go to sleep and Rob realizes he is a German Shepherd. Then he goes to sleep when Rob sings to him the lullaby in German! It was funny!
They don't make shows like this anymore..love it
I saw this episode when I was a teenager back in the '65-70s...I saw it with my parents and sister...we had a lot of fun...and I still laugh today...beautiful memory, nostalgia ..!!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH, LIKE THE VIDEO. Greetings from Bahía Blanca, Argentina
To think this man is still active and working. Dancing around in movies.
Rob does a comedy sketch about Laura being a pathological snoopy nose, which turns out to be accurate.
Mary Tyler Moore 😍💖💕😍
Absolutely stunning.
My favorite Episode ! I call it 'The Package'
Happy birthday dick. This show is timeless
Never open up and read somebody else's mail
…i loved this show…excellent actors all around…🤗♥️🌹
Can you find the Pointman series with Jack Scalia? Where I am I can't get it online or physical copy.
My old time favorite show. Seen them all over n over. ❤
I love this episode!!! 😂
Boy, Millie's going to catch a bunch of flies with her mouth hanging open like that!😂
Thanks for the upload.❤
Loved these reruns when I was a kid ☮️
Formidável! Agora integral! Calorosos agradecimentos !
Yet Another Great Episode!
Classic TV. Criminally Underrated. Some may Love Lucy, I love a 1 Mary Tyler Moore. 😘🥰😍🤤😋🤪😜
Mtm…gorgeous times a million
this is near genius
I absolutely loved (and still do) Laura's outfits!
Yep call the Postal Service on her... This was the beginning of the end... Thanks Dick..
The Alan Brady Show is the 60s version of Saturday Night Live and Rob, Sally, Buddy are the funniest employees in the whole office.
Was Millie ALWAYS pregnant? She was pregnant when Laura had her baby, and she was pregnant in almost every show I have watched lately.
First time watching anything from this show and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. For some reason reminds me of seinfeld? Did he and Larry David get a lot of inspiration from this show?
This episode was a masterpiece. There were some others in this series also. "Coast to coast big mouth" comes to mind. just comedy perfection.
Mary Tyler Moore is a wonderful beautiful actress ❤❤
Mary Tyler Moore had a great little rear-end.
My mom used to snoop around my room, so this is relatable
my era 2023 still watch it
Scary
Greetings
Jerry & Millie for the win with this episode 😂
23:00 She should've said "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." That always worked for him with Dukes and Maharajas.
Anyone here after WANDA VISION ✋
This is incredibly soothing. First time viewer of this show. 40 year old white male from Indianapolis. God bless.
Did anybody see this on Catchy Comedy? Because I did!!
Mail arrives in the morning, MAGA
And everybody knows if the tables were turned and he opened her mail oh my God it would be world war 3
This episode really bugged me . She has no right to open his mail.
It's done for laughs, otherwise it wouldn't be funny. Also, it's not real life, it's a comedy.
This is wild. Rarely have I seen a full episode of tv from this era.
Absolute All Time American Classic TV... it was the era of "Camelot"...
$1 Billion in damage to grid in 60 secs or less mfrs😂😂😂😂
Go ask Brad Wray from UNA about me...f yall
What's the reason Carl Reiner as Alan Brady obscured his face for much of the early episodes?
According to the book "The Dick Van Dyke Show" by Ginny Weissman and Coyne Steven Sanders it was a combination of things. Originally Alan Brady was created to be talked about but not seen. They wanted to get a big star to play Alan Brady but they knew a big star would not accept such a small part so Reiner played him. At first they decided not to show him, the audience would only see the back of his head and hear his voice. (Reiner did not have much time to act being the writer, producer, and story editor) The first time he showed his face was in the third season's Christmas show "The Alan Brady Show Presents." After that he appeared four or five times a year with the stipulation that he would only appear when they had a great idea for him such as in "Coast To Coast Big Mouth."
@@robertchambers4065 thank you
@@robertchambers4065 His repartee with Laura in 'Coast to Coast' is classic. His painter in 'October Eve' and his double talking professor in the 'Henry Walden' episode were all high points.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
And how does a mfr put that on peace corps app, Brad?
$1 Billion in damage to grid in less than 60 seconds
Damn this show is actually good
And Grandma at other place...Was suprised
A suburb example of timeless comedy.
