    I only do box squats for all my heaviest lifts, not as heavy as these guys, but heavy for me. Works perfect for a 45 yr old beginner, if I were doing full back squats over 300 lb every week I probably wouldn't be able to walk at least half the time. Thanks to Louie for educating the world about that.

    @kw1213 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    depending on where the bands are placed they provide either increasing resistance, or decreasing resistance towards the end of the exercice. In the case of the squats, the bands are providing more resistance at the highest point of the lift.

    @SplinterCellFugitive 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Nippon1971 yes. but also in wide stance it requires more flexibility to squat low than in a normal stance. These guys do lower box squats at time as well. they also squat wide to hit the hips more.

    i like the padded box they all do they squats on, because after all, every single person that trains in that gym has the exact same body with same length legs that identically perform the squat to their same relative depth
    awesome

    Totally agree with you kalel35. I am a lifetime drugfree lifter but do not see anything wrong with others using steroids in non-tested events. It is an equal playing field. The only time I have a problem with juice is when individuals claim they haven't taken them or aren't on anything and compete in a tested, drug-free event.

    bands pulling down increase the resistance the further up you are, making the hole easier and the lockout harder. Bands pulling from the top work the opposite way

    the legs contain muscles that move the hips. the abs/back/core/whatever stays under tension, but not the hips. same thing.

  • @migastdi
    @migastdi 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I respect this method of training, the amount of weight these guys pull is impressive. These guys are pulling nearly 1/2 of a metric ton!!

  • @MHinders11
    @MHinders11 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    They aren't completely relaxing their body, just the hips. Back is still arched, tension is still throught the legs, feet are still pushing outwards. Its static overcome by dynamic strength to increase explosiveness. Doing it this way makes it harder than a regular squat, tapping would actually make it easier.

  • @santadan354
    @santadan354 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    They arent , dynamic day in the conjugate system is 40-60 percent for geared lifters and 70-85 percent for raw lifters for 10-12 sets

    I love Louie Simmons, and I'm reading his WBB book of methods currently.
    Absolutely no hating, but he does seem to have quite thin legs compared to the weight he's moving.
    Now I know that strength is not equal size necessarily, but it is strange that he hits elite numbers and yet his legs are not trunks.
    Anyway, awesome shit right here!

    Thanks, I instantly regretted getting involved. You can't really debate with someone that is just waited for their turn to talk..or in this case pound on the keyboard in all caps. When the definition of a simple word like cheating is too hard to grasp...I suppose modern chemistry might as well be alchemy....

  • @crazygoat85
    @crazygoat85 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You're right, the genetics part was my suspicion/fear as well. Myself I do seem to have shitty leg genetics. While my upper body literally blows up when I hit it hard, my legs are damn stubborn.
    All I can do is keep on squattin'.

    @Nippon1971 dawg this is a different exercise meant to build up their full ROM squat you should learn more before commenting you see how some have chains some bands and so on they are training the finishing part of the squat

  • @BattleFitReno
    @BattleFitReno 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    wrong- the point is to SIT on the box and let the leg muscles (and only the leg muscles) relax, then overcome the force from a relaxed state. tapping the box would not achieve this.
    also, the pressure on the spine is fine, as it's in compression. i guarantee there are plenty of activities people do that compresses it a lot more, and those people are fine as well.

  • @bright5086200
    @bright5086200 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes they 100% will. If you have the right mentality, like i do, if i wanted to squat 2000lbs, theres no way i could do it. But with drugs there is a MUCH better chance. So if i were to take roids, my gains would be UP UP UP UP UP. And the more up you go the more confidence you gain. The more willing you are to workout instead of dreading a hard workout. If i could do 20 rep squats (if you know what theya re and have tried a REAL set of one).. If i could do those for every 2.5lbs and know that

  • @bright5086200
    @bright5086200 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Who would rather get the gains in the EASIEST WAY which in turn is facing the easIER side of things. You are taking shortcuts, and why are you taking them???? (ANSWER: Because you'd rather take the easy route. Youd rather get there through workouts where you always progress. Where you fail LESS. Which in turn ups your confidence. you have a buddy carrying you and you will never stop progress as long as you use them right and use more of them. )

    i would end on a 800lb 20 rep squat, no matter how much pain i was in, i would laugh at it and it would be easy. There would be no mental distractions. There would be no doubt. Because you have drugs. The drugs are like your little buddy hauling your ass through it all. No worries about growing. Even if you went up in weight 10lbs a month and did them for years, you would be champion. They are a side note that carries you to your success. So yes, they are 100% for the weak. Or the people

    You're 14 years old and bench just over 200lbs. Tell me again how you work a hell of a lot harder than an Elite Level Powerlifter? For the record, Louie allows visitors to Westside if you want to give him a call and plan a field trip to Columbus to show them how hard you work. And they will show you how to tuck your elbows when you bench so you don't destroy your rotator cuff. Good Luck.

  • @bright5086200
    @bright5086200 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    but i also agree that everything in moderation is fine, but be careful as well. I dont do them, and i dont plan on doing them because i dont need them. I think they are for the weak. And Louie who said he works harder than people who dont use steroids is right. But i mean cmon louie. all you gotta do is train and grow. You dont need to go through the lpateaus CLEAN people have to. If someone said take steroids and work 10x harder.. yet squat 1000lbs, i would SPRINT at that idea. But im CLEAN.

    Needle in the ass = more testosterone and sense of well being. But the point here is that if i knew that i was injecting test into myself, it would increase my confidence because i would KNOW that if i worked hard enough with my diet/workouts that it would be like a buddy carrying me to great results.Which would cancel out the doubt of failure which in turn would increase your confidence and you would be more willing to workoutWITHthem because you know the path is less mentally taxing.Roids=weak

  • @DonJohnson13

    The only thing your argument proves is that:
    1) You do not understand how steroids work
    2) Trying to explain it to you is an effort in futility (even with small words)
    3) You enjoy the anonymity the internet provides, so you can talk shit to people who would cause you to have a bad day in person.
    4) IF English is your first language, you should stay in school, or go back
    5) I owe AJ an apology for encouraging you to continue to make a fool of yourself on his video.

  • @DonJohnson13
    @DonJohnson13 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    First you obviously did not reply to me pointing out that you did not understand what cheating meant. After reading some of your other closed-minded replies...this discussion is obviously not going to go anywhere since you think that steroids are some kind of magic crutch...I can assure you that they would not take your 300lb squat and make you a 1000lb squatter, and a mentally weak person could not handle those kinds of weights..drugs or no drugs.

  • @casepalms4974
    @casepalms4974 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have no doubt that you work hard. However, to make the claim that you work harder than anyone who uses steroids? You and I both know that's just not true. Steroids push the threshold for poundages and body composition past the point of what one could attain being natural. Steroids do not make it easier, just possible. No disrespect by my reply. I just think that maybe you're looking at it from the wrong perspective.

  • @bright5086200
    @bright5086200 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    pleasee just re-evaluate what you said. The journey might be harder in the fact that you have to work harder with everything, even when on the juice. but the increasing weight will motivate you to change your lifestlye because progression is success and success=motivation. at least for me. But for you to say that sticking a needle in your ass doesn't make it easier to get to squatting 1k. you are either on the juice and butthurt because you know im right or you are plain dumb.

  • @bright5086200
    @bright5086200 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    they might but would they be where they are today if they didn't lift with gear? would they have worked so hard knowing that a 1k squat was out of reach? probably not. they might just be doctors right now. or have hard labor jobs and not be lifting. BOOM! u quit cuz u know im right.

  • @bright5086200
    @bright5086200 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I honestly don't care. My main point is, needle in the ass, you instantly become more motivated because you know they will take you to where you want to be. Now stop before you say "you need to become more responsible on cycle with PCT/cycle support/diet/sleep/ect... because its just as much work as when your off if you want to reach the true potential with them. Of course. But if i knew i could do all that and squat 1k, i WOULD EASILY. it would be a laughing journey with my needles around me.

  • @DonJohnson13
    @DonJohnson13 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good lifting...it doesn't matter what I did at that age, this isn't a pissing contest. You have been at this for 6 months and Louie has been doing it for almost 50 years. Saying you work harder than an Elite Level Powerlifter natural or on gear is just flat out ignorant, not to mention arrogant. Besides that I don't think your "God" would appreciate you calling other people pussies and bitches. Fix your bench form and your numbers will go up and you'll lift longer...

    That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. 1k squats are the result of squat gear, not PEDs.
    To this day, there has never been a raw 1k squat, in a tested organization or otherwise.
    Secondly, do you honestly think Louie Simmons would be a nobody and you'd be a champion powerlifter/coach if PEDs didn't exist?
    Thirdly, most of these guys have made most of their progress pre PEDs. The good stuff for the most part isn't available until they are already pros.

  • @smokeyrivetcustoms1858

    Why the hell are they doing 1-3 rep max squats while totally sitting down? The amount of pressure on their spine during that move is huge ._. A Mere tap to the box should of been sufficient. Or just do it without the box. Can't discredit them for their lifts though

    You can barely form a complete sentence, and you tell me I don't know what I am talking about, yet you admit you have never used steroids but you KNOW how they work..not just that but you seem to think that they work exponentially (keep working forever) which is not the case. They are not MAGIC.

    so they are cheating drugs.
    All im saying is if you use them your a cheater if you talk or compete with those lifts (S/B/D). An d you are mentally weak because you would rather take the easy route. Yes the ASSURED route to a big lift. Not because you gotta work harder on them. Anyone would work hard if they wanted a 800lb bench. If they wanted it. But without steroids, its basically impossible. almost impossible... So you can choose what you do. Sorry for going on, but this needs to be said.

  • @bright5086200

    Louie Simmons is weak. tell him to squat what i do naturally from the start without the test. I bet he would lay down and cry because he doesn't have his assurance of a testosterone injection.
