    Louie knowing someone by their lift and not by their name tells you this guy loved what he did.

      I read his autobiography (Iron Samurai) he makes typos in a ton of names, but he remembers their weights and how much they lifted in random powerlifting meets in the 70s-80s, guy truly lived and breathed powerlifting

    Awesome lesson. Can bodybuilders use box squats for hypertrophy?

      They can, but I’m not sure they’d be as good as free squats as you’re breaking up the tension on the muscle every rep

      Save the big barbell movements for ME and DE work. Louie once said that 80% of what his lifters do is smaller movements. Use those smaller exercises for hypertrophy.

      @@wick3dwick lol.. for real though, they would be wrapped up in "bands" that were converted into "BS cheat yourself from doing a real life clothing." That mixed with "move the bar a 3rd of the travel distance ACUTAL LIFTERS are doing" and you got the... "Hey Ma! I'm Superman! When in reality you're a sh!t lifter.

      Box squats are very dangerous and ineffective when done incorrectly. Anything you do in the gym with poor technique will be dangerous, and have minimal effect. Leave your ego at the door, and do the exercises correctly.

      Actually studies show box squats have less compressive loading than free squats, and as far as I’m aware there are no longitudinal studies comparing injury rates (or training outcomes) so you don’t really have anything to support your position

      you do realise that every power lifter at the top level is on steroids, the playing ground is equal. you must be new to the sport of you think only taking roids is gonna make you squat 1100lbs
