Don't be afraid to travel with someone you don't know well! As long as you're on the same page about what you want out of the trip then you should have a great time. Are you involved in any Facebook groups from your high school or activities you're involved in that you could post in to see if anyone is also looking to travel? That could be a great start!

I know this vid is old but another tip: use a different browser to look for flights, then buy the tickets through your default browser. Most of these sites collect cookies of your browsing history and hike up their prices every time you refresh the page.

Skyscanner it my best friend. I just spent 21 days in Europe. Round-trip to Oslo from LAX. Then we booked a bunch of one ways. From Oslo to Rome, Rome to Paris, Paris to Dublin, Dublin to London, London to Amsterdam, and Amsterdam back to Oslo. All flights (including one checked bag and taxes and fees) was less than $900.

Another tip for people who maybe aren't ready to go out of the country / go on flights / whatever: Don't underestimate the public transport in the US. I am in LOVE with Amtrak because I'm able to go so many places for a great price (even better w my student discount) and I'm not a fan of planes, so going by train, or greyhound bus even, is better!
I'm from Detroit, wanted to go to Chicago. It's super close, so I took Amtrak. Round trip was only $37! Last summer I took Amtrak from Detroit to LA and saved about $300. The train cost me ~$200 while the cheapest flight I could find was ~$500 (however!!!! Looking at Damon and Jo's website I see you can find a flight for cheaper than that now!!!).
+the duck I used to take Amtrak home to Indiana from NYC. It was $80 each way and 17 hours every time BUT I ALWAYS MET THE BEST PEOPLE. I'd so do it again!
***** I think I love Amtrak because of the people! One time I shared a carriage with a girl who ended up transferring to the college next to mine and now we're going to be moving into an apartment together this fall!!

Thanks to skyscanner and their price alert set up, I got roundtrip tickets from LAX to Barcelona for $471. I have gone to Guatemala City (which is much closer) multiple times for around that price, so I knew this price was insanely good.
You guys def put me on!!! I flew from O'hare to LAX round trip for 160$!!!!!!! Granted it was spirit but pshhhhh it was NOT bad. We stayed at the Venice Beach Hostel and Hollywood Blvd hostel. Best places ever!!! We ubered it everywhere. Honestly had the best time of my life with my cousin!

I'm obsessed with Skyscanner. I booked a flight from Florida to DC for $35 😂 I'm going to the White house for $70. Plus, HostelWorld is amazing in big cities like these. You can easily find a room for less than $30 a night.

Me and my brother needed to book a flight to see our family in July (at our birthplace) in San Diego, CA from Portland. Seriously he almost booked us $400 round trip tickets and I was like waaaaaait a second. Damon and jo have my back from saying it from the start, I went straight to sky scanner and we booked round trip tickets for $197. That's HALF the price.

My problem with skyscanner is sometimes the only sites they will sell through are vayama or cheapoair or all these sites that everyone says are scams or will screw you over. But I have used skyscanner before and then they took me to more reputable sites like priceline/expedia, and the flights were pretty cheap.

hey guys I'm a Peruvian dude who speaks English I was studying translation and interpreting but it was really hard for me put all the languages inside my head i love languages but I've always loved English now I'm studying French i love it so my question is why when I listen to you guys sometimes i don't understand you but then when i watch you again i understand you haha i think languages are mixing up in my head or smth like that 😬😬😬😂🌿🙌

Hi Damon and Jo! I've been subscribed to you guys for a while now and my question isn't so much about how to book cheap flights any more. It's more about how do you guys create your travel agenda? I'm traveling to Spain this summer and I was sad to see your videos of Spain didn't show too much of what you guys did there and what you explored. So my questions are do you guys go to a destination with a set plan (i.e. staying for this many days then taking this train etc.) or do you guys just go to a place and spontaneously decide you're going to take a train somewhere? ALSO do you guys always use the locals to find the best free or cheap spots or do you rely on google (if you use google WHAT ARE YOU SEARCHING BECAUSE I SUCK AT THIS PART!!)? I know this was a loaded post, but THESE ARE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS THAT KEEP ME UP AT NIGHT (not really your girl sleeps toooo much) but if you guys created a blog post or even a video answering these questions that would be super helpful because I'm sure I'm not the only one. Anyways I'm an avid watcher and you guys have inspired me to SHUT UP AND GO! Sending good vibes and love from your Dominican American subscriber!!
